If you take a look at Upchurch apology video you will have an understanding of where he is coming from. He is an amazing, humble, talented dude. He has a ton of confederate flags in his videos. He is the farthest from racist as can be. To a ton of folks in the south find that flag just to be pride in the south. Hillbilly is just as turned up as this BUT it has a lot of that flag in it. He is a rapper a country singer and he also does rock songs. All his songs are about the country. Also try Come and Get it

The flag is just a symbol of being proud where you came from. Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, Kanye, Ying Yang Twins, Lil Jon have all repped the confederate flag at some point.

I grew up in Upstate NY but live in VA now! I grew up thinking a rebel flag was just a sign of rebellion! but know I have a much better understanding that its a southern pride thing down here! In fact I know some Black guys that sport a rebel flag for that reason. They ride Harleys to so ...it is what it is! Peace to yall.

This is a good introduction. Watch his apology video. He explains it best himself what the flag means to him. Any of his hi-deas series is great to react to. He gets high and goes in the booth. YZ the quad hes riding in the video. He actually brought the quad into the studio to make the beat. He dropped a new album a couple weeks ago. There isnt a bad song on it. React to any of his remixes that have "bored" in the title. The only one I would hold off on is killshot. There's a back story that goes along with that one. He does rap, country and rock. After the apology video, maybe check out "can I get an outlaw" if you want more of a country feel, check out "rolling stoned" a good mix of the 2 would be something like parachute, holler boys, or some days.

I can give you a first hand view of the Confederate flag. I’m from Louisiana and I was raised to be proud of where I come from. I have never met a single person a real level that flew that flag out of hate. The story of that flag is much more complicated than anyone is told is told in school or by mainstream sources. If you ever come to the south, you’ll see a substantial number of black people flying that flag believe it or not. There’s actually a video here on RU-vid of an older black man flying the flag in defense of it. Look it up. Great reaction as always. Y’all are becoming some of my favorite reactors.

I grew up in Jersey, and had the same thoughts on that flag as many others. Then I moved down to Georgia and in those years I realized that it's a symbol of southern pride down there. It's not about hate. It's not about racism. Ppl that don't live there make assumptions and they're incorrect. Upchurch raps sings country, sings rock, and can make you laugh your ass off too. He's just a good dude. Completely independent too!

Being from the north to me you can't equate the confederate flag to racism. There were over 4 thousand black slave owners in the south and there were even black confederate soldiers and was the flag that they carried into battle to be able to identify their soldiers from the union soldiers. It wasn't a flag representing a nation or the confederacy as a whole like the American flag does for the United States

So right on the representation thing on the flag and how you were introduced to it. I was born in the 70s and my first introduction to the rebel flag(which is what I knew it as)was The Dukes of Hazard and i live in the South. That show didn't have a racist theme at all and was a good wholesome, funny family show. When I saw that flag I thought Dukes of Hazzard and Southern pride since thats where the show was based out of, Georgia. I was shocked when they took it off tv. My kids, the same way, they loved the Dukes of Hazzard and love the flag and the Southern heritage it represents. Sometimes flags, symbols, words, etc can get hijacked and made into something they really aren't. I LOVE you 2 and your channel and watching you guys reactions and discovering new and exciting things!!!❤❤❤

I completely understand your thoughts on the flag in the video. Thanks for being able to look past it & appreciate the video. That flag means different things to different people. You just gotta look at the whole picture.... He's spitting fire bars on a fire beat. That tells you he has listened to hip hop for a long time; and he has an ear for quality, legit, hip hop beats. My take, is that anyone who appreciates & likes the music/art of a culture doesn't hate the culture they appreciate & aspire to be a part of.

The Confederate Battle flag to us Southern folks it is symbolism for southern pride, its where we're from, im personally born n raised on the Florida Georgia Line anyone who says it has anything to do with hate is dead fucking wrong....If you ask anyone who flies any of our Confederate Flags they will most likely tell you the same thing.. Its pride of being from the south.. Thats all it has been... Not only that for me i had to family members who were brothers one fought for Confederacy the other was drafted into fighting for the Union and they both fought in the same war in Middle Tennessee from 1863-1865 my 6th Great Grandpa & my 6th Great Uncle

This was my first video I’ve seen of y’all and I have to say I’m a fan!! Just wanna say that I’ve seen Church in concert twice and they were HANDS DOWN the most AMAZING concerts I have ever been to!! Let me put it this way...at the first concert we literally BROKE THE FLOOR during the song “Come and Get It” and then about a month later he wrote the song “We Don’t” about it! Nice... I love y'alls reactions and how you hold off on judgement before finding out more on the subject. I do wish you'd just open up and say that he's waving a confederate flag, rather than beating around the bush about it, but I suppose we all react differently. As far as the flag goes, what it represents to one might be completely different from what it means to someone else and there's nothing wrong with respecting another's point of view, as long as there's no ill intent behind said point of view. I'm not a big Upchurch fan, but I do know that he's wholly unapologetic about displaying the battle flag because he feels that it represents his southern roots. I love y'alls channel! Thanks for introducing me to music that i normally wouldn't be aware of.
