This is about one's individuality it means what ever you do you can do better & make your self proud & whatever you do you can contribute to your country & community growth. It means rising your own flag & respect others too. Accepting & respecting Diversity. Thanks for supporting SB19. Mahalima ❤❤❤
You might want to check out the live performance of this song at KBS RoundFestival. Highly recommend their live performances also at WishBus. It’s always mind-blowing how they sound so good! Thank you for the great RV!!!! Can’t wait for your next SB19 RVs. More power to you!
You're right. You're just not used to hearing other music especially when it's outside US. This song is intended to showcase the different styles of each member. This made me appreciate the song even more coz it's different and breaking the norms.
I'm not musically inclined so i didn't really notice how different the chorus was from the rest of the song. Ironically, What sealed the deal for me. Before What, i was just a casual listener. I was simply blown away by this song. Maybe, my mind is just more accepting of non-conformity. After all, my other fave was Bigbang's Bang Bang Bang which has five different sound in one song 😊.
Review the LYRICS READ and LEARN THE MESSAGE OF THE SONGS OF SB 19 = this is central the immense fans of SB19 -unlike KPop the songs of SB19 has a message - not only do they sing and dance well, but each and every song written is personal to each and every member of SB 19. WHAT refers to WHO YOU ARE and YOUR MISSION. A flag is not just to be hang - but it needs to be waved. So is your inner YOU - what you want to be and your mission in life.
WHAT? meaning of the song "We want to show each and everyone’s individuality, that you should be proud of yourself no matter who you are." Main rapper and lead vocalist Pablo shared: "A lot of people still doubt us, denouncing everything that we do and everything that we're trying to achieve. We love what we do, that's why we do it respectfully. 'WHAT?' is about self-love and empowerment. Each of us has our own flag. We should be proud of it and raise it as much as we can. As SB19 and as individuals, we know that we're not the best at everything, but that shouldn't stop us from what we want to achieve." ‘What?’ sounded like a mash of three songs due to its different tempo and unexpected drops in between songs. This kind of song is not very popular in OPM as we are more familiar with songs that have uniform tempo and expected highs and lows.
the song means a lot not just about literally being proud of your flag and country but also being proud of yourself. it even talk about their struggles in life before they get to where they are now. the song speaks who they are....the tempo of the song as you noticed how it changes because their leader Pablo showcase the ability of every members just like stell as a main vocal, Justin as a sub vocal, josh as a rapper, ken as a bass vocal and Pablo as the song writer, music producer, singer and a great leader... actually your right that Justin is the prettiest because he is the visual of the group and he is the creative director of this music video.
You are correct, Justin is the visual of the group as well as the youngest and the creative director of their MVs, Lyric videos and Concerts. SB19 is a self producing group. Their leader Pablo writes and composes their songs. Stell is the groups main choreographer. What is a song about being proud of one’s individuality. The inspiration for the melody of this song is Bohemian Rhapsody hence the changes in the beat
@@noexcuses5524 Heard from an interview (can't remember which) that Josh is one of the decision makers and he also plays a role during technical rehearsal as seen in their 1st dubai concert and another manila concert vlog.
@@noexcuses5524 yes he does, i believe they mentioned it in one of their interview that sometimes all members contribute in each work. That is why I placed main choreographer 🥰
You should check on their live performances. And they do ballads too. The song should make you feel the different vibes of different personality they are portraying. That is why the tempo and the beat are changing.
A lot of people even fans said that What? took them by surprise and many are confused, and that it took them few more listens before appreciating this song, and I do too. I realized also that this song is best done in a liver performance, hope you get to check those.
Justin is indeed the group's visual. Currently leading the #MHMA2023 Most Handsome Man Alive in the Netizens Report. Thank you for your reaction to our boys. My favourite song of theirs is Mapa and WYAT.
The style of the song changes depending on who is singing or rapping that part. It depends on the personality of the singer or rapper that's why the song changes about 5 times. It's about being proud of your own personality, picking up the things that you considered as garbage in your life, embracing your flaws because that's what makes you who you are today, being proud of who you are, and waving your flag proudly. This song is written, composed, and produced by PABLO, the leader of the group. Thanks for reacting to SB19! I hope I could watch more RV from you about these amazing and talented men. Thank you so much!
Ken is my bias at 2:50. I just love his low deep voice which is not a thing in philippines...philippines love people that can belt and ken bring something new on the table. He also has some solo songs.
WHAT? portraits 5 different stories that's why maybe you feel like that..😅 The different vibes in MV was intentional. SB19 want to shows the individuality of everyone and that "?" written on Flag represents as your uniqueness and you should raise it proudly, it doesn't matter of who you are and what best you can do. Just be yourself.
Sound break... That's SB stand for... They are not following the usual... They show case what they want in their music... That is why you are confuse..
Self-love, being proud of who you are. The ? Flag is about your own uniqueness, so wave it proudly. Maybe seeing them perform it live will somehow make it better, it is different from their other songs. What? has become their anthem. The language is in Tagalog, but you can call it Filipino since it is the official language. English is the second language. There are some 120-187 languages spoken in the Philippines. SB19 songs are in Filipino, English and have some Spanish words. Try Mana it is another fan favourite, they performed it on the Wish Bus.
WHAT? is more than a song. I think (my interpretation) every section of the song represents their own stories. This song was their comeback song after their hiatus. The intro with the marching music and them looking like they're going to war is like a declaration of war against those who doubt their talents. Pablo declares that he's not gonna stop anymore, now that he has started (like a commander leading his troop). Justin now sees a different world (a reference also as the creative director of the group). Doors are opening now for them, unlike before, when people keep shutting the doors on them. Ken will keep and carry his garbage (his sad story and hang ups) with him wherever he goes for these will keep his feet on the ground. Josh's part, i think, speaks about their haters who acts and speaks intelligently but does not really see the truth (broken lenses). The iron maiden represents (my interpretation) his nanny who physically abused him when he was a child and all his hardships growing up. He's the main rapper that's why his part is a rap. Stell's part is that of a farmer who shows everyone that "what you sow, is what you reap". He had been training and developing his talents for years and had met setbacks along the way, but never gave up. Now, he's reaping the blessings of his hard work. The part where they were walking against the people in white, i think it represents the obstacles and haters they've met along the way. Until finally (standing on top of the steel frames), they've managed to rise above these challenges. Reason for the joyful ending where they're all smiling while dancing. One thing about Pablo's lyricism is that it always has a deeper context. It's his challenge to A'tin... to give their own interpretation to their songs. Watch Pablo's La Luna and you'll get what I mean.😉😊
Justin, my bias is the handsome dude you’re right he’s the visual of the group as well as the creative director. Pablo- is the leader and song writer Still- is the main vocal and choreographer Ken- main dancer Josh- main rapper Pls. React to their wishbus performances and official music video: Where you at? Nyebe Hanggang sa Huli Mana Ikako SLMT Mapa Alab Go up Thanks!
Bakinga [taglish], what [tagalog], wyat [english], mana [tagalog], go up [tagalog], mana [tagalog] are my faves... What is a play on words WATAwat means flag in English.
Sb19 and alamat are my ppop bias... I cannot find a video where you react to alamat songs such as kasmala, maharani, aswang, say you love me...I cannot find the video :-[
