Learning experience at the end of the day, just make sure your braking isnt on the racing line and try to ease the brakes slowly, it seemed to work for me (after a billion times of spinning of course) Very well edited video 👍
That’s exactly the way I saw it, throughout the rest of the day I figured out where the better areas were to brake and also to brake a bit sooner. Finally managed to keep in on the track for the entirety of the Final, although you’ll have to take my word for it at the camera wasn’t used 😌 Was still a really enjoyable and fun experience, would love to give it a better go in the future. Thank you very much for the advice, hope I can put it into practice at some point!
Oh dear, happens to the best of us. When I went there was a tad wet but not too bad, but a driver forced me wide cause they lost grip at that long right hander and a single wheel touched the grass and caused me to spin and cause a massive crash as it was lap one. This is a tough track when it’s wet
This one definitely was a trial by fire, luckily for me, there was no contact and all incredible bits of scenery watching were of my own accord. But I can imagine it being absolute chaos if more than one person got collected in an incident, it definitely was a bit of a tricky one in the changing conditions!
I think the other karts would have been a little bit more to what I’m used to and I bit easier to handle in these conditions… 😭 I’m glad David was on hand to save me on more than one occasion 😂 Thank you so much though, means the world to me, wishing you guys all the best! 🫶🏾
I honestly think it was a bit of a rough one for everyone, the fact that the track literally became a lake at the end was extremely funny to me. Was still a really fun day regardless and I wish you luck if you’re heading down again for Round 2!
This looks harder to drive than when we went in -4°c frozen/frosty conditions. These karts are awesome though and on a dry day I'm sure youd find it much more fun! Keep up the great videos buddy!
Really through myself in at the deep end with this one, was difficult as it got increasingly wet throughout the day, using their helmet at the end did not aid visibility in any way either as the visor got completely misted 😂 Still had a great time and it was a lot of fun, might have to get a bit more practice in the dry first before hopping in again for sure… Appreciate the kind words thank you so much!
havent even watched the crash but can confirm humongous skill issue and this is why i stick to indoors tried the n35s at datyona mk the damax are something else especially in those high rev zones
There was definitely a lack of talent here on display… The DMAXs had a nice turn of speed, think I got to their full potential about 3 times before realising I’d pressed the brakes too late and then swallowed some tyres 🥲
I did in fact find this to be the case, was a bit of a grey area for my knowledge of driving but I’m sure it was about the same amount of offs with the other parts of the day cut out 😅🫣 glad you enjoyed it mate, appreciate you always ✌🏾
You tried your best, thats what matters. I think if i tried to drive one of these I would end up in the tyres about 20 times more then you did! Looked fun but quite frustrating, i think I would of have enough after practice 😂! But great persistence Ben. The comments throughoutthe video did make me laugh 😂. Also, on the steering wheel of those karts, what are the screens? Do they show timings and speed?Shame there was no footage of the latter heat and final but these things happen. Good video Ben.
Thank you so much Katie, that’s all that can be done - just try your best and enjoy the time you have in the kart! Was slightly frustrating but all mistakes are opportunities to learn from for the future (even if it did involve about 56,000 appearances with the grass in practice and the first 2 heats…) 🤣 The steering wheels have recently been fitted with a Drivers Information System which shows your lap times, position, laps completed and time between you and the drivers both ahead/behind which was really useful! Slightly annoyed about the camera, but these things happen sometimes and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! 😇
Clearly some of my best driving yet 😅 The conditions were horrible, got wetter and wetter throughout the day. Ended up as a swamp at the end of the day…
Minor correction the N35's are actually manufactured by Birel-ART. The website is confusing but that's because Sandown and Milton Keynes replaced theirs with SODI's but haven't done so at Tamworth.
