As a Sr. High rock club band, Hanabie did covers of a Japanese Band called Maximum The Hormone (MTH). Akane (Band Maid drummer) was influenced by Nao Kawakita (drummer MTH) to be the "Gorilla" that she is today. Try MTH. Great rxn, Po!
@@UnderARock Yes, "Lollipop Candy Girl". It's another song from their albume "Girl's Reform Manifest". They are an independent Harajukucore group. Thanks for your reaction.
Hanabie are fantastic, really creative, excellent song writing, and the riffs are on point. Maybe take a look at "L.C.G" or "Reiwa Matching Generation" from them next if you want to explore further. I'll also recommend taking a look at a band called Gacharic Spin and their songs "MindSet" and "I Wish I".
Hanabie are pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥 As mentioned, their album “Girl’s Reform Manifest” is one of the best from 2021 along with Nemophila’s “Revive”. Harajukucore - a treat we probably don’t deserve. 😬
Harajuku core - French baroque inspired (loosely) chic cute (kawaii) punk is how I interpret it. Could be totally wrong. I've only been down this pigeon hole for ~ 4 years. Japan is complex but I'm never giving up on it because its so BAD ASS cool 🤣
2:44 Absolutely true! Japanese Metal exists since the 1980s, but was (and still is!) _criminally_ neglected or even unknown in the "western sphere". As a lifelong "western-sphere" Metalhead, I wondered "Who the f*** are LOVEBITES?" last year, when they were _introduced_ to me. After the 4th LOVEBITES song that I heard, I bought _all of their records_ , Nemophila followed this year, and by now (2024/04) I am into Hanabie... 😂 *Warning to all audiences: Japanese Metal is highly addictive* ! 😂 If I had more money, I would also buy all of their merch stuff. 😁
hanabie are amazingly good. one thing I like about the japanese music scene is, that they are not afraid to mix genres. and they are veeery good with it. hanabie started as maximum the hormone cover band, a legendary creative, crazy (but in a good way) band with strong system of a down vibes. they are so amazing. so I suggest MThs - Alien ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TdwT5JlH8gM.html it´s great to witness you discovering all the good stuff. thank you.
Hanabie (pronounced HAHN-a-bi-ǝ) This is what you get when Babymetal and Maximum the Hormone have a love child. They actually started in high school, playing MTH covers. Clearly one of THE new metal bands to watch. Most of their songs are quite pointed, concerning social issues like dating app abuse, drugs, prostitution, cheating etc. “We Love Sweets” is about having an unhealthy relationship to sugar. Members: Vocalist (Harsh, rap)- Yukina Guitarist and Clean vocals - Matsuri Bassist and backing vocals - Hettsu Drums - Sae They recently dropped their first EP. Their producer is Gaku Taura, who is a support drummer for Crystal Lake (another band you should check out). He has his own studio, Soul Japan. You have to check out: Reiwa matching generation (NSFW): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LOs_Th_qyIs.html L.C.G. : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1unAr05MRis.html Envy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nSvhK9U2BXk.html
Thank you for the pronunciation, I had the emphasis on the wrong syllables 😞 I appreciate the song suggestions and other info too! I’m stoked to get to their other music 🤘🏻 Hope you sub
I have read this band is or was produced with the drummer from Crystal Lake.....another band you should absolutely chekout. Try "Apollo" just for a start.....you won't be disappointed!!!
Without going into a political narrative. Yes our Media specifically Music Scene speaking is a fixed bag o crap in NA and the UK. Half the bands on my radio station here in the Midwest couldn't even compete with the underground talent from Japan. We are an odd lot we dont like anything we cant understand and which doesn't sound or look like us. At least that's the Media Pushed narrative. Honestly I find the YT Japan and European music scene vastly superior to our Western Format.
Theres another exclusively Japanese genre called Idol Metal that also has the wtf factor. I suggest the group, Broken By the Scream and their songs "Ki Rai" live in Tokyo or "七色スクランブル" (Seven Color Scramble) live in Tokyo.
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Break the Wall, Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], DEXCORE [Red Eye], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance], SOKONINARU [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], LYNCH [Devil], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], NEMOPHILA [Dissension], DADAROMA [Lucid Dream], JILUKA [Lluvia], HANABIE [We Love Sweets], POLKADOT STINGRAY [any song], MUTANT MONSTERS [Abnormal], ASTERISM [Church], and many many more...
first it was the NWOBHM, now it is the NWOJHM. Try this other all female metal band BRIDEAR / Light In The Dark ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UxSrOqAxaKw.html Greetings from Spain
You're getting closer to my favourite Japanese band. Some don't like them because of the vocals, but they are incredibly unique and have no respect for genre separation. Hope you check them out some day. PassCode - FLAVOR OF BLUE - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vuTaH8D5RzU.html
Hanabie are straight up delight. Completely, adorably badass. Matsuri's (guitar) writing and Yukina's vocals make magic and Hettsu (bass) and Sae (drums) obviously crush it. Try Hanabie - Reiwa Matching Generation or L.C.G. next
Welcome to the delightful world of Japanese rock and metal. You will continue to be pleasantly surprised by what this scene has to offer with its variety. I hope you get around to checking out Maximum the Hormone, possibly starting with their song ALIEN. Gacharic Spin and their song Mindset, and Wagakki Band with their live version of homura/akatsuki no ito from their first japan tour. They all bring something very unique and completely unexpected. Just like Hanabie. Awesome reaction! Good luck bud.
Have you heard anything from Indonesia there's a lot of good girl bands from Indonesia jewel box , VOB Braceprot two syllable word that means noisy air
L.C.G is a favourite of mine from Hanabie but like a lot of other Japanese bands they just dont make bad songs ! Welcome to the Japanese music rabbit hole and some other bands that you should look at Telecide , all great songs Ironbunny , the track 23 is amazing and they have a cyborg guitar player , yep that's right Ladybaby , they have three different line ups to choose from with a variety in styles Waggaki Band , they mix rock with traditional Japanese music One OK Rock are male band with a great pop/rock/metal sound And finally have a look at Man with a mission which is a band of Wolves lol , Fly away and take what you want , both live videos will give you a good look at what they are about. Good luck trying to dig yourself out of this rabbit hole 😁
Freakin love that band....lol Not many catch the bassists vocals ...she was up second...not sure why that is...Hettsu has a great voice imho...shrug... Ready to pivot again....lol Sokoninaru - Tenohira De Odoru - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n7MyoBki9wk.html
Thank you for confirming what I've thought to be true for very long time: metalheads don't like to use word "screaming" because it brings screamo to their minds. And it's somehow negative...
I thinks it's shitty we have festivals put on by bands like Slipknot and they largely ignore the Asian metal scene. Especially the Japanese scene, which has been popping off since about 2006 when Maximum the Hormone skyrocketed to fame. We've had them around for nearly 20 years and we still can't western metal to show them any respect. I'm mad as hell that HANABIE is clearly on the rise, their popularity is climbing, and when you look at the list of bands going to Knotfest Japan, there is no HANABIE. They even have Crystal Lake in the lineup and they have a direct line of communication with HANABIE. It seems to me the spiritual successor to Ozzfest has lost their way and is now mostly there to showcase old bands 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻
