Yesss Ateez are my favorite group!! Ateez are known as performance kings of kpop, every music video is part of their storyline, in which they are fighting an evil government trying to strip them of emotion so your idea of fighting the power is correct. I would love to see you check out more! Some of I think you’d like are Wonderland, Answer, and say my name.

You did a great job picking out the storyline. It's a rebellion against a government that knows emotional people are hard to control so their world has been sanitized of things that might stimulate emotion like music, art, and dance. In this MV, they're hijacking the government's communication to expose citizens to the arts. Typically their lyrics fit the storyline but are general enough to be applied metaphorically to their audiences' lives. --- I'll detour here for the one with the MBA. Their company, KQ Entertainment, used a sort of guerilla marketing for this album. Months before, they put up red and black posters with pretty much just a qr code around Seoul and where they were touring, as though the rebellious were trying to spread their message without getting caught. The code went to ATEEZ Wake Up, The World which was up for a limited time, so fans had to share copies of the video on social media (they reposted it before the MV dropped). Later at venue where ATEEZ were performing, they air dropped this music clip Halateez Propaganda [The World EP 1: Movement]. Closer to the release, two movie like album trailers and two teasers for Guerilla were posted to set up the storyline: ATEEZ The World Movement Trailer 1 ATEEZ The World Movement Trailer 2 Guerrilla Official MV Teaser 1 Guerrilla Official MV Teaser 2 --- If you look closely at the beginning of the MV, you'll see a video of their leader's rap being broadcast to a classroom. At the end, they realize that their efforts caused at least one student to escape and try to find them to join their rebellion. They almost always tease music or the next part of the story at the end of their MVs. The last scene also suggested that KQ Entertainment was about to debut a second boy group. Shortly after the MV dropped, they started posting pre-debut content of their new trainees. Kpop groups often have a wide variety of songs and ATEEZ are no different. However, this album, The World EP 1: Movement, is musically consistent and the songs in order tell the story of trying to wake the world, persuading others to join, and rebelling. The concluding song is New World. I think the album is a masterpiece. I suggest the fixed version of the dance practice 🤯, and their live performance Guerilla - ATEEZ [Music Bank KBS World 220729 🤯🤯. You'll see why they're called performance kings. BTW, this album debuted on Billboard's 200 at #3, behind only Beyoncé and Bad Bunny. ateez for me have one of the best discographies of the fourth generation of kpop, they also have excellent choreographies. this song is one of the last of his comeback, I recommend that you watch theis mvs from the beginning since they have a story line. I think ateez will be to your liking. I recommend pirate king, hala hala, say my name, wave to start

They have released the Treasure series (5 albums) n the Fever series (4 albums) before this. ATEEZ are pirates who are in search of their treasure in whatever form it may be, like fame, happiness, money, etc. They have two alternate worlds, the A world, which is the normal world n the other one, the Z world is the one u c in this MV. It’s a dystopian world where emotions are controlled n banned by the government. So Ateez are trying to wake up the people in this emotionless world. *That's actually one of the misunderstanding that ppl thought when they heard kpop.* *People think that there's a word "pop", that means it's literally "pop music". Kpop literally is the WHOLE INDUSTRY of the korean musics. So in KPOP there's pop, rock, jazz, edm, rap etc.*

Ateez are my fav group in kpop for a reason every music video is connected somehow it's really enjoyable to watch thier mvs and also their lives are so good like they are super talanted in everything I'm sure you will like them more when you watch thier live performances. guy at 5:50 was absolutely right, ateez has a very extensive storyline and this mv's storyline has been hinted at for at least a year now. the reason this song was so different and rock-ish was because of the concept and plot (but also bc they wanted to try out something more unique ofc). ateez is definitely worth looking into, their storylines, lyrics, and sound is just amazing.

This song is heavily based on their storyline. This is Ateez from another world (halateez) and they come from a world where feelings, emotions and art ect are banned. So this song is exactly what you guys were saying, a rebellion (guerrilla warfare) against the government of their world (Strictland). The lyrics says "Dance, break the wall with our feels" and is what they're trying to do to get the people to wake up and open their eyes to the truth and from the government brainwashing them which we see in the end. 🙌🏼 This is the basics to it, there's so much more. For this particular MV, in short, they're on a rebellion against the government of Strictland ruled by White masked man who has banned art and expressions in their regime. But they have a huge storyline, they're Black Pirates who can travel through different dimensions. Also there are different versions of ATEEZ too. Another one, the one who are rebelling, are called Halateez.

The Ateez storyline is pretty amazing. It’s a MCU type storyline where watching the videos in a certain order tells the story and there’s almost always an end credits scene. The short version of their story is they are working to free society from a government who has suppressed human emotion and outlawed music, art, etc. to create a “perfect” society. Wonderland, Say My Name, Hala Hala are definitely videos you should check out (honestly, you should just check out their whole catalog!).

Ateez does not have rock vibe for all of their music. Ateez has a complicated story line heavily inspired by dystopian stories. They are indeed starting a rebellion in this video. It is a world where the arts and human emotions are outlawed. Their rebellion is using the arts of dance and song to inspire. The song itself is about being yourself and not conforming just to fit in. Teenage angst is often a vibe they have. YES! Ateez!! They are so under rated. They have all the different vibes to their music, but all sooo good!! More Ateez please!!

Something to know about Kpop is a lot of groups either do concepts so albums would have one cohesive theme or they have intricate storylines, so unless u watch their mvs in order you can miss big parts of the significance for certain aspects in the videos. Ateez is one of the storyline heavy groups, so as u watch their videos it’ll make a lot more sense.

My suggestion to u is to actually begin with their debut songs "Pirate King" and "Treasure." Both start their storyline...and go in order...the storyline is intense...long, and even the capitan (leader of the group) Hongjoong has said that we as they fans haven't even seen 1/3 of the storyline...and they debuted in 2018...please do more...I think they may surprise u...

Oh and just a note-they always have some kind of extra/teaser at the end. The story-they are pirates. They time travel and can travel inter dimensionally. Ateez exists in our world. They have alter egos in another dimension (they are the ones dressed in black fedoras in other videos). The Guerrilla and World album are actually set in the dystopian world of the black pirates-known by fans as Halateez (they dance in these outfits in Hala Hala). Their title tracks all include storyline in the videos-some are more obvious than others. Ateez has three series of albums. Treasure series-their debut and in the middle of the storyline. Fever series-this is the first in storyline. But was their second series of albums. World-the current series and it only has episode 1 so far. This is set slightly simultaneous and following Treasure. This song is definitely a lot and has a deeper meaning. ATEEZ has a storyline from their very first album and this MV is heavily part of their lore. The group has released 3 series so far: Treasure series, Fever series, and The World series. - and each series has about 4 to 5 albums. This particular song is on the most recent album, The World Ep. 1. To keep it short (and centered on this MV alone), they have a multiverse named A and Z universes. In Guerilla, the world you see is Z, where everything is controlled - emotions, art, music and dance are all banned. You were right when saying they were fighting against the power, they're basically rebelling against their government. The whole World Ep. 1 album is amazing, aggressive and the songs are so cohesive when you listen to them all.

5:40 you're correct. They are fighting against an oppressive government that doesn't allow people to feel emotion. I saw somewhere that the original Guerrilla name was Coup d'etat, but it sounded a little too strong. If you think this is fast paced you need to watch Bouncy or Crazy Form.😂. They do quite a bit of hard hitting rock and rap. They do have some slower stuff but most is pretty upbeat. Popular suggestions for reaction are Hala Hala, Answer, Say My Name, Halazia (gorgeous mv), Wonderland, Guerrilla here, The Real, Inception, Deja Vu, Bouncy, Crazy Form. Pirate King and Treasure are their first songs. If you like dance performances their KQ Fellas dance performances are good and only about a minute each.
