Barry is in the middle he's the leader and the only brother left alive Robin is on the left Maurice (pronounced Morris) is Robin's fraternal twin both are deceased now
Thank you for respecting the music by listening to it rather than stopping the piece or remarking too much during the performance. You were willing to listen and honor the exceptional live recording. I appreciate that.
They have 5 decades of songs just as amazing as this one. You'll never find a BeeGees song that you won't like. I have about 150 favorite BeeGees songs.
@rayc2993 the Bee Gees weren't disco. They were labeled as and then blacklisted as the poster child for disco. They called their music contemporary r&b and blue eyed soul.
I can't believe these young adults and in this generation have never heard of the Bee Gees. They truly are just discovering pure music and magic. I would encourage this generation to look into older music and discover some of the best music of all time music that grow on you as life goes on.
This reaction comment made me laugh with recognition: Our Dad used to sit all of us boys down (we were six boys) and he played a BeeGees song on the old mono record player, and after he was done he looked at each of us really seriously, and said, "Learn to sing, boys. For these fellas are the ones to steal every girlfriend without having to lift a finger." We thought Dad was crazy. Now I know, he just spoke the truth,
LG Regina
Barry (lead and center),is the soul survivor of the brothers. Andy, Maurice (pronounced Morris)and Robin have all passed.Maurice is the left bearded one and Robin is to the right. Maurice and Robin are twins. No auto tune, just plain talent of all these beautiful Men. Barry wrote this song when he and Linda were married 7-8 years. They have been married 53 years todate. ALL Proceeds were donated to the children's charity, UNICEF. Todate 20 million has been received.
The Bee Gees are by far the greatest vocalists in music, they are untouchable! Barry Gibb is the second most successful songwriter in music history, 3rd in the Billboard Hot 100, and had 5 songs in the top 10 simultaneously in the Spring of “78”, 5 decades of music. Could sing & play Rock, Folk, R&B, Country, and Gospel.
The BeeGees hold the distinction of the only group in history to have a number one hit in five different decades. They reinvented their musical sound at least three times and are credited with basically bringing the disco era into being. Go watch the movie Saturday Night Fever. They did the music or wrote the music for almost every song in it. Their song writing skills are legendary as well. They have written more number one and top 10 hits for other artists than can be believed. One in 1 million group. One in 1 million sound. Will never see the light of that again. So glad that you’ve discovered them. I enjoyed your reaction very much.
Barry is the oldest Brother and the only one still alive. They also had a younger Fourth brother that died many years before any of them. The oldest brother is still the only one alive.
p.s. yes, the twins, Robin and Maurice, the ones on each side, have both passed. Maurice in Jan. of 2003, and Robin in May of 2012. Actually, they didn't get all the girls in high school, because they didn't go to high school. They quite school pretty young to pursue their singing careers. They recorded, played clubs and made tv appearances during their teen years, and had their first number one hit in Australia when Barry was around 19 and the twins were 16. But on the road, yes, they got the girls, for sure.
Friend, listening to the Bee Gees is a direct trip to paradise, at that time they were the biggest headache for men, women simply melted for them, this video was recorded live in 1 take without arrangements of any kind only the orchestra and a microphone for the 3, plus the rights were given away in perpetuity for UNICEF, something never done by any singer and it has raised more than 12 million dollars. The record labels wanted to sink them because the song they released was inevitably number 1, the harmonies. What these 3 brothers did was and will be unique, they were capable of harmonizing with any rhythm they made, they were and will forever be geniuses, in addition to all of the above, they wrote songs for other famous singers. Talking about the Bee Gees is talking about talent, simply unique at 43 years old. Since I heard them as a child until today I think they are the best male group that exists.
I love the Bee Gees they are the best group ever. They have written and sang 1000s of songs which are amazing. They have never disappointed me. I can see the sheer joy on your face. Please play more. They have sang together since they were kids ages 9 for Barry in the middle and the others Robin and Maurice were 6. Some other songs are.... How deep is your love....Night Fever.... I've just got to get a message to you....You should be Dancing..... Tragedy.....Alone....Nights on Broadway....Words....so so many.... Great reaction!
The Gibbs had a younger brother, Andy, who was born in 1958. He was just as talented as his 3 older brothers and once he was old enough to pursue a music career went off on his own. Sadly he died in 1988. Both of the twins have passed away. Maurice died on 1/12/2003. Robin died on 5/20/2012. Barry is the only surviving Gibb brother. At age 76 he is still writing songs, performing, etc. Recently he released a new album, “GREENFIELDS: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1,” It's a 12-song collection, produced by Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton), features collaborations with Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Dolly Parton, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, Jason Isbell, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Brandi Carlile, Olivia Newton-John and Tommy Emmanuel.
Barry Gibb is 75 yrs old today and STILL PERFORMING. He has written SO many famous COUNTRY songs too....For Dolly Pardon, Barbara Streisand, Dione Warwick, and so much more. I believe he has been inducted in the Country Hall of Fame. Both brothers have passed.
The Bee Gees (among the most successful groups of all time) wrote & released Too Much Heaven in 1978. It was climbing charts world wide (already #1 in US & Canada, #3 in UK) before the Jan 1979 fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated, in perpetuity, ALL their royalties, not just from the UNICEF event, merch & compilation album (as the other bands did, though some just for a limited time), but also their publishing rights. So, UNICEF continues to get paid, from anyone’s version & any use (including in movies, TV, commercials, etc). As the 1st band to make such a donation to charity, they were recognized for it by UN Secretary General, Kurt Waldheim & invited to the White House by President Carter. The last official tally I saw was 2017, saying UNICEF had received more than $11 million from it, for emergency food & healthcare. I’ve seen others post it hit 20 million as of 2019, but I haven’t found a solid source for that. Barry included the song on his 2021 hit album, Greenfields, so that (duet with Alison Krauss) will bring UNICEF even more $$.
The Bee Gees are the best and they have thousands of songs (some written for other people) through different genres and decades. Their harmonies are fantastic and no autotune just pure talent.
Hi two brothers have passed, Barry Gibb is the last of 4 brothers all extremely talented Another I'd like your reaction too is You Win Again by the BeeGee 's another toe tapper heehee
40 plus year career. Wrote all their own songs and for many others as well. Barry was only 9 and the twins were 6 when they started. Jive Talking, Night Fever original, Fanny be tender with my love, You Win Again, You should be dancing from 1976 version, Nights on Broadway live on Midnight Special, Staying Alive, How Deep is your Love...that should keep you busy for awhile. Enjoy!
Please react to the Bee Gees live performance of You Should Be Dancing. Andy Gibb their Youngest brother joins them .It's amazing seeing all Four brothers together.
If you think their voices are great. When you added Andy with them, they were even better. Maurice's deeper voice gave their harmony depth, and grounded Barry and Robin's higher voices. It is why Robin and Barry never sounded nearly as good, when they sang, after Maurice's death. True legends. I consider myself blessed to have grown up listening to their music.
Think you’ll enjoy Jive Talking, Tragedy and You Should Be Dancing. Love your reaction. Nobody could sing like the BeeGees. Barry the lead singer is the only one still living, Have you checked out the Rightous Brothers You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, Soul And Inspiration and Unchain Melody
These were the guys you'd play on your record player to get in the mood and send a message to your significant other with music. If you wanted to drop a panty or some draws, the Bee Gees can help with that!!!!! 🤣 I had a great teenage life thanks to these guys!
Thank You for showing us your reaction without turning off the video.. Your facial moves and body vibes said it all.. Glad you enjoyed my generation of beautiful music ❤
This song and the production, it's just brilliant, I will always sing along to this...I could be on an execution firing line, I would sing this as my final song, and I cannot sing...but I'm about to die so whatever
Always a pleasure to watch these reaction videos to this platinum standard of classic vocal groups. Any lady who was 18-30+ back in the day....Barry would steal her from you, fellas. Probably...the only other Barry in the 70s was Mr. White. I can only imagine how many ladies undergarments were thrown on stage between the two over decades. Millions?
They didn't actually go to high school, but yeah, all the girls surely! Love their voices and their music!! They have a 5-decade catalog, enjoy!! Nights Forever??? There is a Night Fever :) Yes, that 1997 concert is great!! Anything from the Still Waters album would be fabulous!! Also, Mr. Natural, One, Alone, Walking on Air... :)
Great reaction. They Bee Geed you, too. Any one of their 100 top 10 hits will be fantastic. Today my favourite is Blue Island, the MTV live performance. Yesterday Bodyguard, the official video. Tomorrow, maybe "Tomorrow" or My World. Jive Talkin in phenomenal as well. They are all fantastic. Thank you again
I have two songs “Bodyguard” and “855 7019” I would love for someone to react to those songs. There are too many to name, there are really too many to name! All time favorite group! Unfortunately there is only one BG left, the older brother Barry…the youngest was Andy Gibb he had solo hits and was going to become the 4th BG, but he died too soon in 1988. Oh, they sounded as great live as they did on recordings!
Ah yes. I see you've now met the Bee Gees. And yes, they are brothers. This is why another way of referring to them is to say 'Brothers Gibb'. Get it? 'B' for Brothers. And 'G' for Gibb. They sang like a dream. And took us to heaven. These Guys 'blew up' LARGE in their day. And Bee Gees *'fever'* was all over the world. Right around the time when their fellow Aussie ...The One And Only Olivia Newton John (whom also passed away only a few days ago now) was just soaring in both movies and music and just dominating the Musical Charts and the airways. Unfortunately, apparently three of the four brothers have passed away, leaving Barry Gibb. Also, two of the brothers who passed were twins. Olivia's voice was just a dream. An ethereal angelic gift. Bee Gees were just 'Otherworldly' and 'Striking' Also, it's a joy watching you *'feel'* the music... I get it...
Thank you so much for not interrupting the video and just reacting honestly while you listen. That’s what I come for. The minute a listener stops a video t give me their, usually, uniformed comments, I click off.
Barry is three years older than the twins, Maurice and Robin. They donated Too Much Heaven to UNICEF for all children. I think you’ll really like Jive Talkin. They write and compose all their music from the age of 9 (Barry)& 6 Maurice & Robin. Today is October 21st, 2022.
they did high school on the road bro.. they were singing together since the 60s.. Barry , the eldest is the only one left still living.. they had a hit every decade from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.
Oh boy! Either that's baby Jesus singing or My ears are hearing thangs! I have a fast pass from Disneyland, can i use that to get into heaven... you know- no waiting in line? and do they have churrows in Heaven? got a sugar tooth!
Not often mentioned is 1970's industry competition. There were so many quality groups squeezed into a fleeting top 10. This dynamic pushed quality, presentation, and presence.
Hey Yes it's always like that when we discover what our ancestors did and we realize that maybe the music of now is not or no longer up to what has been done. But discovering the past also allows you to tell yourself that's what my parents or rather my grandparents listened to in their youth and to take a very pleasant musical slap.
