EPMD is a Rap group from the '80s that consists of MC's Eric Sermon and Parish Smith. Their name stand for Eric and Perish Making Dollars.

def 80s and 90s- the concept you're missing is this group was super pro-black and anti-white- not trying to start any racial talk but it's kind of a well known thing about them- and i’m white and had this album and loved it- check out the song fuck you and your heroes- i was always bobbing my head to it while simultaneously saying damn did he just say devil and cracker

CUBE was a force of nature in the 90's!!. . . The most mimicked hard core rapper in history. Tupac & Scarface are his lil homies, his proteges. Let that sink in. Even Eminem once called himself the white Ice Cube (Cube has never fully embraced Eminem though, & has even taken lyrical shots at him, which made Eminem turn away from embracing Cube)

Never heard this song before until I got it on the recommended after listening to some old RATM tracks and daaaaamn was I not ready for it to beat so HARD. Don't know why it ain't like a bigger thing, it definitely sounds like it was intended to be a classic.

I already heard that song before, that was one of the first Pac tracks I heard honestly. That definitely is up as one of my favorite Pac tracks ever especially that third verse

EPMD is a rap duo Consisting of Parrish Smith and Erick Sermon. (Erick and Parrish Make Dollars) they have a series of songs called Jane.

Great reaction vid. Such an underrated group of artists. They handle deep social issues. This song has so many double meanings but the "guerillas in the mist" sample is taken from a Police transcript in Los Angeles right before the Rodney King beating and subsequent riots. The ″Gorillas in the Mist″ remark apparently referred to a description of a domestic trouble call that happened prior to the arrest of King. The computer message was sent from a squad car carrying two of the officers charged in the case. The message was sent 16 minutes before the pursuit that resulted in the arrest and beating of King." The 90s was woke before woke was a thing. From brilliant artists like NWA, Da Lench Mod, and even Pearl Jam has a song about police brutality towards the black community. It's called W.M.A. (White Male American) you should react to that song.

The title is a play on words. Guerrilla not gorilla. Guerilla warfare is a war waged by a small group or groups of unconventional soldiers. They were representing a militant group of rappers. I think it's dope that your reacting to shit that most people never heard of unless they were hardcore hip hop fans in the 80's and 90's. Keep up the good work!

There is definitely a hidden message in this song....the guerrillas they are referring to are themselves......the they speak of is California....what u plan need to know is this music and mentality of thinking was a wake up ....this album dropped around the Rodney King beating era....so energy and tensions were still high...and it reflects in the music...

News flash...it sounds like Ice Cube cuz he produced the album, he's IN THE VIDEO, and he raps all over the album. 🤦‍♂️How can ppl not recognize him? You're the second person I've seen do a reaction video to this song who didn't recognize Ice Cube's face in the video. I'm not dissin you, I know this music was before your time. It's just funny to me because he's got one of the most distinctive faces in entertainment and I've been listening to him and watching him in movies my whole life. It's nice to see young people discovering some of this awesome classic hip hop. Now please go rewatch the video and see if you can recognize Ice Cube!
