Thank you for the BLACKPINK content! Sadly I need to correct you that none of them has a clothing brand. I think you got confused by someone saying they have their own companies. These companies refer to music label/management companies. They all founded them this year. Jennie has Odd Atelier, Lisa has LLOUD, Jisoo has BLISSOO. Rosé has not announced what she's doing yet, but we'll probably get more information on her very soon. For understanding: Blackpink signed their 7 year contract with YG Entertainment in 2016. YG is the label they were under for their whole careers including group and solo activities of the members. The contract ended last year. They decided to stay a group and made a new contract with YG for group activities. All of them left YG regarding solo projects tho. Instead of signing with other existing labels they founded their own labels and are now the CEOs of those companies, having full control over their solo careers. YG really held them back all these years, so this is a very exciting time for fans, because for the first time ever they have the freedom to do what they want and experiment with new things. Jennie is set to release her first solo album this year, Rosé also shared pictures and snippets of her in a studio working on new solo music. Sadly the side effect of this is that Blackpink as a band doesn't seem to be a main focus right now for them. Nobody knows when we will see them together again. But I get it, it's their first time being free. Of course they wanna see what that looks like and share their work that YG wouldn't let them. They waited seven years for this moment. We'll see if Blackpink makes a comeback this year. I'd hope so, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait till 2025. Anyways, I'm super excited for their solo projects and happy that they try to do both, being Blackpink and being solo artists. (They also already have two solo songs each which would be worth reacting to. Giving them only two solo songs in seven years is a great example of YG being the worst label. Ignoring the fact that even Blackpink as a group only has 32 original tracks in seven years. YG really didn't use their whole potential. At least there is not one skip among these songs. I guess YG is a quality over quantity company. Still sad since they always wanted to do more and be included in the creative process which just isn't possible with YG)
Enjoyed your reaction, it was fun. BTW, the name Blackpink is actually a play on words that brings together the opposites of Black and Pink. Black connotes power, Pink suggests grace and femininity. The 2 together represent the groups aspiration to be strong and independent while still retaining their feminine allure. Please react to their mv KILL THIS LOVE🔥
RU-vidr Jonathan Young recently did a metal cover of this song. I realize that might not appeal to some of the Blackpink fans but I like metal and I think JoYo's cover is awesome. I love hearing different interpretations of a song.
I kind of see covers of song as an hommage to the original creator. As an artist, I am happy, whenever someone picks up my work and adds their own spin to it. I'll check some covers after going through the "core" for sure :)
This song is not a break up song, it is one big FU to all their haters. If you are at all curious about the depth of symbolism and meaning in this video read on, otherwise just ignore. On a first level, Blackpink is talking smack to their haters (and they have alot). Haters in kpop have driven numerous Kpop idols to suicide in recent years through their fanatical social media attacks. Lisa has been threatened with racist threats of physical violence such that the Thai Embassy in Seoul felt compelled to get involved. So when they say "Look at You", they are saying "you miserable ugly hateful loser who adds nothing but negativity to this world". And when they say "Now Look at Me" , they are saying "I am beautiful, successful, bringing light to the darkness that you bring, giving hope and inspiration to all my fans around the world, especially girls and young women in impoverished third-world countries dominated by hateful males like you." On a much deeper level, and one of the things that Western reactors often overlook is the significant depth and symbolism that has been woven into this MV. You should view the RU-vid Video "British Priest Reacts to How You Like That" where a Cambridge University (yep, the one in England) graduate in Greek Classism goes scene by scene explaining the symbolism, basically having to do with female empowerment and overcoming male subjugation and oppression. Each member is a different Greek Goddess and daughter of Zeus that overcame horrible trials and tribulations. For example, when Rose is being lowered on a bed of flowers she is channeling Persephone, who was kidnapped while picking flowers and dragged to hell and forced to marry Hades (similar to what happens today to a number of young women in third world countries). Near the end of the MV Rose is depicted in front of the wings statute (actually Nike, the statute of Triumph) saying you should have killed me when you had the chance because now she has become a winged avenger. Her 3 other members are also posed in front of the Nike statute, showing how they have transformed from powerless victims at the beginning of the MV into powerful avengers, the Erinyes also known as the Furies, female chthonic deities of vengeance in ancient Greek religion and mythology. You picked up on the Superman reference (Look up in the sky...), said right as Superman is about to lay waste to the villains. Well, that's Blackpink/Winged Furies coming to lay waste to their haters. There are at least 4 other RU-vid videos going in depth explaining the symbolism in this video. Once you get to Kill This Love go view "British Priest Reacts to Kill This Love" where they discuss how Freudian psychology is being depicted and reflected in the struggles between the various sides of each member's psyche (Id, Ego, and SuperEgo) in the context of a toxic love affair. At least these 2 MV's are not just pretty girls surrounded by pretty scenes and cool beats. BP is always messaging in their MVs.
Loved every detail here :) Also, I am a huge fan of greek mythology, so once I read where you said the symbolism is based on that, I saw the possibilities as I read through your explanation. I am 2-3 songs away from allowing myself to watch some documentaries (I wanna remain mostly unspoiled) and then also get into the details. My plan was then to have a "road so far video" after watching and listening to a bunch of their stuff, where I explain everything I learned (in the comments, by research, primary and secondary sources). Also I had no clue, that haters are an even bigger problem, than in Europe. Where I live it's also disgusting how some people express themselves online towards one public figure, but they also get defended a lot of times by their fans. Generally, I think being the center of negative attention is one of the worst kinds of psychological torture. Anyway, Thank you so much for taking the time and share these insights :) This is exactly what I am looking for, when experiencing "new waters" ❤️
Hello! Id love to see you react to all 4 blackpink members' solo songs!!!! Jennie - SOLO Jennie - You & Me Lisa - Money Lisa - LALISA Jisoo - Flower Jisoo - All eyes on me Rosé - On the ground Rosé - Gone
Their company is not clothe brand company they have their own label(entertainment) company to do their solo active while they have their group activities under yg entertainment.....and also about the clothes as you heard it before they have alots of GBA(luxurious brand endorsements 4 of the members)
There are singer/song writers in kpop lol. Kpop just means korean popular music. It's an industry so it's not limited to one genre. All diff types of artists can be found within kpop, you just need to do research on them to see what they're all about. For example, most non kpop listeners don't know this, but BTS writes the majority of their own music and they produce too. The leader is a lyrical genius. They care a lot about sending a message through their music that can impact their listeners in a positive way. They have a few fun songs without much weight on lyrics too ofc, but with such a huge discography the mass majority of their songs are not what people expect at face value. I also really love blackpink too though, just for very different reasons. They hype me up when I need it lol. I think both types of artists bring value in their own ways.
I know, I believe I also said UK/irish…but perhaps I cut it out in the video. Anyhow, that is precisely my plan. It might take a while as I wanna also document the process, but eventually I wanna experience everything. Right now I don’t know anything about korean music. Maybe a year from now, I will have a good understanding. Regarding BTS, I know some facts about the group without having listened to their songs yet. They appeared on the news a lot. But despite pop culture, as an artist I of course find it most interesting to uncover another artists intentions behind their music.
@@marcee001 Yes I agree, uncovering the intentions of another artist makes music that much more impactful imo. It's cool that you want to experience everything! I think it's wise as an artist to do so. Looking forward to more videos! 🙏🏻
There's Black Pink, and then there's K-Pop, in that order. FYI, the volume of the video should be up about three notches/numbers, and your mic up two. That happens a lot when people set the volumes when wearing headphones. I have a 5.1 sound system on my PC and the volumes are always the same, which is why I'm able to compare volumes from different YT reactors and videos. On your two BP videos I had to max out the video volume. Just trying to help.
Im not huge Blackpink fan(so not an expert) but as I recall the one who says the plain jane section is Lisa, she's Thai. The other three is Rose (usually the blond), she's Australian. Jennie (Kiwi/Korean) and Jisoo, Korean. They all have solo songs in the top 100 of most viewed kpop songs on RU-vid so you should try them out. I like their solos more. My favourite Blackpink song is "Lovesick Girls.' Its not as popular as the other buts great. I'd also recommend you check out some other Korean girl groups, Blackpink is the most popular but there are other top tier groups as well.
@@marcee001 hmm. Girl groups which have similar concepts/style to Blackpink in order of popularity would be Itzy, G-idle and Aespa. The up and coming ones are NMIXX and New Jeans, NMIXX is known for their vocal talent and New Jeans has a very cruisy versatile style. With sheer popularity the biggest girl group other than Blackpink is TWICE. TWICE is more on the pop side of kpop but they have a huge discography, the have so many songs so there is something for everyone.
this song is a slap to haters cause before this song they were on hiatus for almost 2 years.... that's why they said you should have ended me when you had the chance..now look up in the sky its (B)ird, its a (P)lane.BLACKPINK short form is BP.

Yeah it’s highly requested. It’s so tempting to just check out what the fuzz is all about, but I’m gonna wait until I can properly record my reaction 🤓
Great reaction. You will end up loving these girls for sure once you discover their individual personalities, and find that their live performances are just as amazing as their videos. Strap in, you're in for one heck if a ride!
Hello please react to UNIS Trailer #1 and Trailer #2 Film, they are new KPOP Group, they come KBS survival show "UNIVERSE TICKET" Something big is in this group!♡
Good reaction. Pause all you like bro. Maybe start at their debut, which was 2 songs Boombayah and Whistle. If you want to sprinkle in a different kpop group in between BP, you shouldn't go past their little sister group called Babymonster. They only have 2 mv's out, Batter Up and Stuck in the Middle
Oh Great, thanks for the tips! Yeah I'd like to add more. I also recorded two other KPOP Artists already :) Luckily the list seems endless :D Gonna put BabyMonster on my list as well. And Thanks a lot for the support!
@marcee001 you might not want to wait too long to get on Babymonster, as they are bran new, and are getting a lot of attention for their debut mini album being released on April 1st, 0am Sk time

I try to be, but there are still so many references I don't catch on first glimpse that I have to eventually get back to these after going through the lot :)
Lisa is the one rapping in an egyptian arabian like sound "PLAIN Jane has a double meaning, it also refers to PLANE like aIrplane., got hijacked. bars.Next stop, Kill this love! Good luck to your channel@
I Love your reactions. You could watch blackpink guide videos to get to know about the members. All of them are kind. I would recommend you to watch the most recent one to get to know them better
thank you!! ❤️ Yeah that’s sort of my plan. I wanna listen to the 5-7 most popular songs and then get deeper into it. Maybe by watching the Netflix documentary or analysing videos on yt
