I know you reacted to "I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul" but the BEST LINE in the song is "I want you to notice... when I'm not around." Thom Yorke is a goofy little guy but he put into words what every man on the planet feels.
I love that you stopped it when Jonny hit that muted guitar cord because "it scared you a bit." That sound is single handedly one of the rawest moments in the history of rock music.
He wrote this song about a girl he was in love with in college but no confidence in himself couldn't talk to her and watched from afar . Till drunk one night tried to talk to her but still blew it later he sang the song at a show and saw her in the crowd
Also hates performing this song live!! Not just because of the emotions, but at the time it came out, was all anybody wanted them to play!! And they had a lot of great music!! Still do!! So they stopped doing it live... But there is a great live one on the tube if you'd like to indulge!
You know what one great thing, about every great band is though? They all have that one song they never want to play live, because it is literally!, just that hard on their heart!!! But they will try, because they know that many people found salvation in it!!
Never thought I'd love this song. Then I listened one day and have loved it ever since. It's like someone giving validity to all those who have been called, ' a creep," especially young boys and girls.
@@michellez1414 always assumed it was about someone who liked a person ‘out of their league’ so called a creep/weirdo And possibly your comment proved the point of the song 😅
@@domdadomdom_2733 This song spoke to a generation of outcasts. That's what the song became saving lives. Only the shallow cannot hear this in the song.
Welcome to one of the Best band on the planet , Love , love, Loveeee Radiohead, Thom York, Leadsinger, have one of the most beautiful voice i ever hurt
The most moving, heartbreaking rendition is their live performance at Glastonbury after he lost his wife to cancer. It feels intrusive to see. I’ve never seen a heart break, again, in real time. I can’t believe he had the heart to perform it.
I LOVE Radiohead!! If you want to go down the Radiohead rabbit trail, start at the beginning of their journey and take it all the way up to today. They are so very gifted. Jonny, the lead guitarist is a musical genius who is an actual composer. Thom Yorke is so gifted it's unbelievable and the rest of the band is too. My favorite songs are Creep, and "Paranoid Android" and it's best to watch the live version at Radiohead - Paranoid Android (Later Archive 1997). I love the entire "In Rainbows" album and you can watch them live at "In Rainbows From the Basement" sessions. It's great to watch instead of just listen so you can see just how musically gifted they all really are. Thanks for a great reaction video!!
I got to see Radiohead open for REM in Dallas in the 90s. The emotion that Thom puts into his vocals is identical live as it is on recording. This song it so tortured and sad. But it is also amazing.
I hope I am not breaking any rules when I say that even though I am a Radiohead fan and love the song, I suddenly realised that I was really enjoying just watching this beautiful man. How handsome he is.
Just recently saw a Foo Fighters cover of Creep with special guest vocalist Dave Chapelle. Now, it wasn’t the best rendition I’ve heard but it was so interesting because Dave was soooo into it. Clearly loved the song, wanted the crowd to sing with him. Cool.
Radiohead is definitely an acquired taste, they were very popular and won a few music awards, not everyone's cup of tea but the lyrics are sometimes complicated and hard to translate.
It’s about feeling you don’t fit in and aren’t good enough. It took me quite a few listens to figure it out but I love the song and it’s the only Radio Head song that I listen to. Thom wrote the song about a girl that he saw in college. They stopped playing the song for around 15 years because Thom didn’t think it was a good song.
Yes, I read the same about how he did not have the confidence to approach her. When he did, he blew it. I also read that the record label forced him to record and sing the song. It was one of the most iconic songs in their catalog. The guitar melody is incredible.
Definitely listen, as others have said, to her Grammy performance of this. To watch her face, watch her have to start over because she was so emotional and I would imagine frightened to be singing such and open song to her peers, and the perfection in her singing? It’s indescribably painful.
That noise you heard that startled you at first with that guitar.... Story has it that Johnny Greenwood the guitarist was not in the mood to rehearse this song and did that to be a jerk. And it wound up giving the song its hook 🤣
I’m don’t get how anyone can blind reaction to this song , or any of Radioheads records , was massive before the internet and how could anyone avoid hearing it all these years
I always LOVE the distorted guitar sounds from Jonny Greenwood in this song. Radiohead is awesome and you need to go down that rabbithole for more amazing songs from them. thx for the reaction Greg :)
I've been obsessed with this song since it came out. There are some GREAT covers if it. But the best by far is 2 girls from the Voice Kids in Germany (I think it's the right country)
HINT: I'm a GenX woman, (please don't say female) who loves hearing new generations listen to good music. We didn't have social media, we had the radio. We listened to music 16 hours a day. Anyway, it's fine if you rewind further if you miss the bit you were thinking of. The process, the real reaction is what we understood. It takes time to hear some songs. take your time and be genuine. Thanks, Good Reaction, just be yourself and listen,
When he says he's a "Creep", it's not a creep, it's that compared to all the others that are materialistic, all about money, fame, looks, fake people...that's why he's a "Creep" because he's not like them and all the fakers think of him as a "Creep".
