Thank you for the reaction and welcome to SHINee World! SHINee (pronounced "Shiny" as in shiny star) is a 2nd. gen., boy group under SM Entertainment. They debuted in 2008 and were between the ages of 14 (Taemin) and 18. SHINee are LEGENDS and ICONS in the Kpop world. Very highly respected & loved in the Kpop industry. No one in Kpop has a bad thing to say about them. Most widely known to have killer live performances with exceptional dancing and phenomenal harmonies & live vocals (sing all songs 90-95% live; just backing vocals recorded). Reacting to live performances is always best because they sound either just like their recorded vocals or, most often, better than recordings. They are billed as a contemporary group because they can blend and sing in any genre of music - sometimes creating their own genres. For each comeback, they always give us something new. They are very experimental, unique, and each member has a very distinct voice. This is why their harmonies are so beautiful. Known to be the trendsetters of Kpop by starting new fashion trends (pencil jeans), the dance practice videos, introducing new genres to Kpop like dubstep and deep house, and now this, as well as introducing more complex, synchronized choreos while singing (they trained for this by running while singing). It's no stretch to say that 3rd & 4th gen Kpop wouldn't have advanced as quickly or be what it is today without the influence of SHINee. In fact, most of those idols actually idolize SHINee and still cover their songs today. SHINee actually mentored EXO & NCT. They have been on hiatus because three of the four have been completing their mandatory military service. These guys have been together for 16 years counting training prior to debut and are extremely close -- true brothers who have been through some very trying and devastating times, however, they have remained steadfast to and supportive of each other which has only strengthened their bond. This group is comprised of 5 members: Onew (pronounced Oh-new) - wearing the dark hoodie & holding a book at the intro; had the unique voice you liked; AKA Old Man, Tofu; leader; main vocal and eldest; debuted at 18; now 32 (intl. age). Honey vocals, very rich and warm. Hits the high notes and has a record in Korea of holding the longest, sustained note at 40+ seconds. Songwriter; Actor; Soloist. On a whim, he wanted to try Opera and performed "Nessun Dorma" at one of their concerts --- KILLED IT! As a leader, Onew is very kind, gentle, & nurturing. Can be quite quiet at times, but is also quite the comedian when he gets going. He is the glue that holds the group together with his quiet support and encouragement. Indulgent father-figure to baby Taemin. Solo MV to check out: "Blue". Key - feathered headdress & starts the song in the phone booth, AKA All Knowing Master Key: lead rapper; lead vocal; dancer; debuted at 16; now 30 (intl age). Nasal tones and very versatile. Can really hit those high notes. Has a sing/rap style that flows nicely. After Taemin, Key is the next-best dancer of the group. Songwriter. Actor; Soloist. He is the SASSIEST of the group. No BS with him; tells it like it is and is quite the comedian. He and Minho are total opposites, but love each other even when they bicker endlessly...lol. Key is the fashionista of the group and the actual fashion designer for their stages. Key can also memorize choreos just by watching them once. Key is Taemin's surrogate 2nd Mom after Jonghyun's death and tries to keep Taemin under control....alas, Key is just as savage and uncontrollable...lol. Minho - red hair & shirtless: main rapper, AKA Flaming Charisma; lead vocal; dancer; visual of the group; debuted at 16; now 30 (intl age). Deep, velvety voice, but can also sing higher as well. He has a slight lisp. Minho writes his own rap segements; songwriter; actor; One solo song. Minho is called "Flaming Charisma" because he is EXTREMELY competitive and good in just about all sports: soccer, basketball, relay racing, high-dive; high-jump, etc. He does not like to lose. Minho is a excellent actor and has been in the most dramas of all of them. Minho is also the biggest SHINee fan of all. Attends other SHINee members solo events. Key's bickering buddy and Taemin's big brother, very loving and supportive. Would give Taemin the moon if possible. Solo MV to check out: "Home". Taemin - white doo-rag & white jacket; AKA Power Taem, Baby Cheese, Magic Hand: main dancer; lead vocal. Debuted at 14; now 27 (intl. age). Soft, extremely versatile voice - sensual and sexy. He can sing Metal just as easily as Rock, or a soft ballad. Can hit dem high notes. Songwriter; actor; plays the piano beautifully, most prolific soloist of the group & tweaks choreo for the group. Couldn't sing at debut due to immature vocal cords and was tutored by Onew & Jonghyun, two of the best vocalists in Kpop. Started learning how to dance at 10, auditioned with SM at 11/12, debuted with them as main dancer at 14. One of the very best dancers in Kpop & legendary for same, as well as vocal abilities; a true performance artist unlike any other (not just my opinion). Many idols cite him as their inspiration for becoming an idol. First-ever SM male soloist from an active boy group in 2014 at the age of 21. First-ever idol to debut four different times within three different generations of Kpop. Currently an active soloist, member of SHINee, and member of SuperM - very busy guy. Taemin is the maknae (youngest) of the group and has been raised with SHINee. He's a interesting mix of all of them and has absorbed their collective talents like a sponge! Taemin is a chameleon and changes his style, voice, attitude according to which group he's with or acting as a soloist. He's a MONSTER on stage and his charisma is mesmerizing. Piercing eyes and stare. He is extremely intelligent, deep, and thoughtful. Very humble guy who is a work-a-holic, dedicated, and will dance 17-hours straight when necessary until he meets his standard of perfection, described as being like tofu with a core of iron. Also takes no bs and can be quite savage when necessary. Gets what he wants whether from his SHINee hyungs or SM. Spoiled rotten by his SHINee hyungs but also very loving towards them. He's my bias. Can you tell? Solo MVs to check out: "Criminal" and "IDEA" from his 2020 album, "Want", "Famous", "Move", "Danger" (his solo debut song), "Ace", "Thirsty", "Drip Drop", "Press Your Number", "Under My Skin", "Sayonara Hitori", "Flame of Love", etc................. Jonghyun: main vocal, dancer; AKA Bling, Bling. Debuted at 18. Very powerful, rich, most versatile voice, slightly nasal. This man was probably the best vocalist Kpop had ever heard, just phenomenal. High notes were no problem for him. He could also rap quite well and I think the 3rd best of the group (as they all can rap). Prolific songwriter (wrote over 40% of SHINee's songs, and songs for other artists. Could play several instruments (including being quite talented with the Kazoo); musical genius; Book author. Jonghyun wore his heart on his sleeve and thought very deeply about things. He was most often the one who cried the easiest, especially during moving performances. He also cared deeply about people and social issues. Jonghyun and Taemin knew each other before meeting the other SHINee members, as they were trainees together before being assigned to the group. As such, elder JH took Taemin under his wing and became, as JH put it, "Taemin's 2nd. mother". He was very protective of Taemin. JH also designated himself as Taemin's fan club president, attended Taemin's concerts, even delaying his own concert by 2 days just so he could attend Taemin's 1st solo concert with Onew. He was so proud of Taemin's singing growth and hardwork. Sadly, we lost Jonghyun to his life-long battle with chronic depression in 2017. This was devastating to SHINee, but their bond helped them to pull it together and continue on to keep Jonghyun's dream of SHINee forever alive. As they say, SHINee will always be 5 = 5HINee. Shinee (pronounced Shiny) is a legendary Kpop group that is known as the Princes of Kpop. You may have seen Shinee Taemin who is possibly the best dancer in Kpop and is also in SuperM which is SM Entertainment's super group made up of idols from other major SM groups including Shinee, EXO and NCT. He's also a very popular solo artist. His MVs are guaranteed.

SHINee is pronounced like Shiny. The group has been around since 2008! They haven’t been active as a group in the past two and a half years due to korean’s mandatory military service. Three of them were in the military until the end of last year. The youngest one, TAEMIN, who you said was smooth with his walking moves, had been promoting solo in the meantime. Please check out his solo works as well, they’re amazing! Taemin’s most recent songs are IDEA and CRIMINAL, but his most known work is the song MOVE.

Hey 👋! How amazing is this song, huh? I’m still quite new to being a KPOP fan, and there’s a SHINee reunion, I’m definitely becoming a shawol with this comeback of theirs (shawol is the fandom name). And it’s pronounced shiny. The leader is Onew (say OH-new), standing by the broken ladder holding an umbrella. The guy with the red hair is Minho. The guy in the feather hat is Key. These three just finished their mandatory military service 6 months ago, which all South Korean men have to start by their 28th birthday (some people get a two year delay to that, just recently KPOP idols got added to that list). Taemin is the maknae, black hair with blond highlights, wearing the white jacket. And with them in spirit is Jonghyun, who is sadly no longer with us, he passed away in December 2017. So older videos will have 5 members, and videos from 2018 onwards will have 4. A classic song to look at is Sherlock, and their first songs are also absolute bops, such as Replay (their debut song), Ring Ding Dong and Lucifer. If you’ve ever watched the TV show Lucifer starring Tom Ellis, you might recognise the chorus for the song Lucifer, from the season 3 episode Till Death Do Us Part, specifically the scene where Tom Ellis’ Lucifer character walks into the drug dealer’s hideout and picks a fight with them (coz of course he does 😂). SHINee has debuted back in 2008 (2nd generation group) and is also one of the most well known and respected idol group in South Korea. It has been 14 years since they debuted but they are still crazy popular in South Korea which is very very rare considering there are so many idol groups coming out every year. This comeback was after almost 3 years since most of the members went to army and came back. Even after a long break, they topped all the charts in South Korea. This shows how amazing this group is. Everyone was waiting for this comeback. You guys really need to check out their previous albums and MVs. Some of my favorites are "Sherlock", "View", "Dream girl", "Married to the music", and "Odd eye." They are known for their versatility of the music and concept. All their albums have very different and unique concept and music style. And they are also known as CDnee because they sound just like CD or even better than CD when they do live performances.

Hey I just scrolled through your past videos and you guys have checked out SuperM before -- SuperM's main vocalist and main dancer Taemin is actually originally a member of SHINee, so you've seen him before. He's the one with the highlights in his hair in this, and he's SHINee's main dancer and I think main/lead vocalist. He's one of the most famous soloists in K-pop right now and while the rest of the SHINee members took a long break from their careers to complete their military service, Taemin sort of held it down for them and kept the group alive for the public through his solo stuff. SHINee's been around for I think almost 14 years now; they took a break starting early 2018 after their main vocalist passed away in December 2017; they each did some solo stuff, but Taemin was the only one who kept at it the whole time. While the other three were away he was chosen to be a part of SuperM which is sort of like a "supergroup" combining all the most famous members from SM Entertainment's biggest boy groups (there are two members from EXO, four from NCT, and Taemin from SHINee).

I came to the channel after SKZ and am so happy to see so many SHINee reactions. Will be checking these out. SHINee was my very first OT group when they debuted in 2008 and there has not been other until SKZ came along. Taemin is my ultimate Bias from all of k-pop (used to be him and Jonghyun).

Members were on their military service so this is their comeback after 2,5 years so everyone is really excited about it! Reacting more to SHINee? Then I'm subscribing.😁 SHINee debuted in 2008 with their ages only between 14-18 at that tine. They are basically legends. A lot of newer idols look up to them, like they decided to become kpop artists as well after watching them. SHINee doesn't follow mainstream music and most of the time what they release set the next kpop trend. So it is common to hear unique music from them. They also started the dance practice videos showing hard choreo (see Lucifer) which is popular in kpop today. They are also known for their live vocals and epic performances so don't miss out on their live performances. There are 4 members that you see here but actually there are 5 members: Onew - SHINee's leader, the one with book and broken ladder and you said has unique voice Key - the one with feather headdress and on the phone, he is also a rapper Minho - the red haird guy rapping, he is also a kdrama actor Taemin - maknae and one of the best dancers ever, his the first one to sing after that phonecall by Key Jonghyun - one of the best vocalists and composers ever, sadly he passed away in Dec 2017.
