Rico Blanco was recognized as one of the best artist in Asia. He's a brilliant composer.. check out his other songs.. Bring me down, your universe, balisong.. they are all English.. these are songs in Rivermaya days and his solo gigs
A Love to share, rodeo, shattered-like, 241.. these are all in English... He has also numerous Tagalog songs but I didn't mention it because it has language barrier for you. Hahaha
This song is for those people with doubts and insecurities, especially for those with depression. This song remind those people that your family, friends, and lovers are still on your side. Praying, protecting, understanding, and loving you. So, don't give up.
I'm an Iranian and I watched the music video of this track on some Persian channel many years back. It has had a special place in my heart ever since! And now I'm watching a video in which someone from Canada reacts to this Philipino song, which coincidentally, I was humming just an hour ago while doing the dishes!
He said, "A masterpiece". Its really a great song Im glad as a filipino that youre appreciating our music, and we call it OPM. More reaction videos on OPM please.
Haha. They cracked the code. Hahaha.
@@xieken4 bat utak talangka ka? Why dont you feel happy about this? Isnt it great that our OPM making its way for greatness thru this kind of thing? Be happy dude.
Lahat ng sinabi nya galing sa Puso nya kasi lahat ng yun totoo sobrang ganda ng kantang ito maihahalintulad siya sa lvl ng Coldplay Scorpion Eagle etc Classic
Funny that the preciding priest of my wedding included the 2nd verse of this song as part of his talk after the gospel. He found out that me and my wife love Rivermaya during prewedding interview. The priest was young and cool. 👍🎶🎧
Everytime I listen to this song, love, faith and death comes to me. The fear of love and lack of faith in God. But He tells us to put our hands to His, to hold on and believe because he is there for us. That's why maybe at the end of the song, it says don't be afraid and sleep tight because we are on His arms, if we believe.
However good Coldplay is, Rivermaya is not the Coldplay of the Philippines. Rivermaya is the Rivermaya of the Philippines. We should measure ourself by our own standard. Why limit our aspiration by the standard set by others?
gian b zamora Stranger Things kasi diba sci fi slash other dimension ang theme tapos 80s yung setting. Yung spirits 2000s na yun eh at present day yung timeline. Tapos paranormal yung theme if I remembered correctly. Haha! Basta ang tanda ko para syang spin off ng Oka Tokat. 😅
This was actually used as an Original Soundtrack for the Philippine drama "Spirits", the song does fit the concept of the drama since it was a supernatural themed drama...
I like how you analyze the meaning of the lyrics and listening closely to the instruments in the background. It's not like you're just listening, but you also feeling it.
youre the most sincere reactor here in youtube, not only breaking down the lyrics but you always go deeper, analyzing and understanding what the writer wanted to say. continue what youre doing. kudos. you earn new sub and like.
Ive been listening to this since grade school and now im 26 and i just realized its a representation to every relationship we have now. Who ever you are with right now.
"You'll Be Safe Here", an EP by OPM band Rivermaya, featuring the song with the same name which was first used as the theme song to the 2005 ABS-CBN TV show Spirits. It has 2 music videos where the 2nd music video used an advanced technology that translates the lyrics of the song. This song was also played at the 2006 MTV Asia Awards. Rivermaya was the only Filipino band to perform in the awards show. The song reached #1 on the Philippine music charts in its release and currently, two years after its original release date gained popularity in Asia and is slated for a European release.
Thank you for reacting to Rivermaya (Rico Blanco) as the vocalist. He was tagged as music genius here in the Philippines. Also, that song was performed by them (Rivermaya) in MTV Asia wayback 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand alongside Hoobastank, Korn, Kelly Rowland, Daniel Powter and many others. He is a baddas singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist.
I appreciate how you react and how you read or interpret the meaning of the song. Such a genuine reactor! You're the best and the most genuine reactor so far. Others are just pretending, just attracting views and subscription solely. Thanks
That song was the theme song for a Philippine supernatural TV series entitled "Spirits" That show aired for only a few episodes and got cancelled. But the song became so popular that it was remembered by many though only a few remember the TV show.
In my understanding..you'll be safe here what ever happens even the universe intertwined with us. As long as you here with me you'll be safe because what ever happens our love will be the answer and you'll never be alone.
Watch korik's blog about that. A band member just thought it up and they just went with it cuz they never had time to make up a good title for it. It was originally titled the proposal and 214 actually means Valentines not "am i real".
You know what, youre the only reactor ive watched that analyzes well the lyrics of filipino music. Many reactors there are just into musicality but never appreciate messages of the songs. Thats good man, i sense you are deep
I'll subscribe to you man because unlike other foreigners reacting to videos relating to Filipino, you're insightful. Others are just reacting stupidly for views since Filipinos love being recognized.
i heard this song since i was just lil kiddo, somehow during that time i thought it was just so cool to sing this one because it was so catchy, but if you really dig deep into it, it’s about having someone that u can rely on despite the adversity or whatever the universe throws at you, i will make you feel better.. You’ll be safe here.. Man, I wish wrote the song..
Its like when all of your hope is gone, when youre all alone, not sure about whats true anymore, just remember God is with you always. And youre safe in his embrace.
Rico Blanco wrote 214 when he was 18 years. Old. He is the original keyboardist of the rivermaya until the vocalist Bamboo left the band. Then Rico became the lead singer of rivermaya
This song is used in a movie series rico blanco is the song writer of rivermaya he is the face of rivermaya a genius talented musician..u can check rico blanco channel
I just stumbled in your video reaction although it's way long ago but i really love your reaction, you truly gave your true reaction of this filipino song...peace love it..
Probably the writer Mr. Rico Blanco , talk about people with in deep grief,.. Or people in a suicidal part of her life and then he met her, and telling her that she'll be safe with him , and never be afraid anymore that he will take care of her for the rest of her life...........
youre actually listening to rico right there. on 214 that was bamboo which was the vocals back then for rivermaya. when this song got released, rico is the frontman
For me the meaning of this song is even you have a lot of problems, doubts and unexpected trials and you think everyone turn backs on you and against you. You will always have some people to lean on! & thats GOD & Love of your life (family & friends) the real one. The love of God to every person who is uneasy and unwell.
It's my teenage time that I'll carry the world of on my shoulders in the place that strangers to me being breadwinner of my family 8siblings with a weak mother and abandoned by the father and I'm only 11years old that's the song I'll hold on to surrender myself on what God plans and stopped asking I'll just go to the flow what life throws upon me.. Memories of the past
you know what i love about this song? it's one of those universal, always relevant songs. this one was released in the mid-2000's (can't remember the exact year) but i was in high school and Rivermaya along with Eraserheads (and some others, the booming 90s Filipino bands era) have been such impactful OPM (original pinoy music) artists in my teenage years :)
i used to sing this song when i was young. i used tonsing this song infront of the people i really miss. they were in heaven now. they were the ones who build my confidence. haaay. it brings all the memories from the past.
Holy WOW!!! Dude!! Thanks for listening to this song. Rivermaya was one of the greatest Philippines bands. For me "You'll Be Safe Here" is one of Rico Blanco's masterpiece. He has great other songs all well, though some of it was in Tagalog. Anyway, you are so right about listening to this song. Rock on OPM.
I've known this song for years, and only today that I've read the entire lyrics, didn't know it was this good. Thank you, seems so simple yet with good meaning
I dont give a damn care for the negative comment.. I'm not a singer composer or a musician, i just love music whatever the genre.. i read the lyrics by my heart and understand the deep meaning of its words.. i dont have a finely tune singing voice but i do really appreciate a spine chilling song.. drop your negative feedback.. thanks
I didn't know there are reaction contents on OPM songs. Damn this is 1 of Filipino songs that should be known worldwide. Its poetic and melody is heartwarming. "When nobody hears you scream, I'll scream with you"
It came from 2005-07, resurgence of OPM, 90s of course is the best decade but the bands got another wave in mid 00s. The Mr. Clay review you did, the Vocalist is the former vocalist of this rivermaya, they're legendary artists.
