That tells us that while it might sound more magical if it were by random choice it in reality was that Loren put herself into the opportunity for to be familiar & called up by the composer & director or whomever in the movie. So she chased so many opportunities to be heard including previously "The Voice" afew years earlier. She didn't give up after losses heading to the top when it was a question earlier on. But she did go to selected a top vocal coach whom also coaches another emerging star Emma Kok. Both students are very accomplished but @CherylPorter also on RU-vid is a great singer but a fun, but thorough coach of vocal techniques & voice strengthening & that gives one confidence to song storytelling or sing story tell. And that is the difference between a great technical singer & a magical one- it's have the resonance formula, where the whole song varies between soft & belt & not so familiar as the original although identifiable melody from the original enough. Syndie Christmas in BGT 2024 is showing some of the same techniques in Annie's Tomorrow. That building & patient variety is the emotional sweet spot & both of those singers demonstrate it in masterclass fashion.

@@lawrenceb5236 excellent thanks for the links. Yes she is & reached for the notes again. I think she took a more classical blues approach I think with my way & her belt was powerful. I think it could well be Sydnie v Innocent Masuku for the final. Both actually what a duet they could perform after the show finishes,& they go out releasing songs. I have a feeling she can sing opera but I feel she's well capable to learn even if not yet. Likewise would be interesting if innocent ordered other styles. This is where someone like the 3rd finalist can mix it & that's without vocal singing mpersonations what's his name? 🤦 But if Dimash Qudaibergan applied he'd probably be able to beat them both but they are both top notch within their genre. I thought both are funny but innocent pulled in his humour which is a pity as Simon made the point about stuffy classical

Loren and Lucy are my 2 favorite singers. Lucy sings the old version. I’d love to see her sing the newer version with the slide up at the end, etc.

I did watch it recently, and thought it was fantastic! And I loved hearing her interview too, that was the first time I watched Lucy where it wasn’t just singing lol! 👍

@@YourOnlineSingingCoach Same here, I really liked getting her backstory and also hearing that speaking with British accent her singing diction doesn't reflect that ( IMHO )
