First Time On The Tree With The Wild Edge Climbing Steps

Thank you for checking out the latest episode of Public Whitetail. Today I will risk life and limb by putting all of my research to an actual climbing test of my new Wild Edge Steps. In lieu of a tree saddle, which has not yet arrived, I will be using a rated mountain climbing harness. This test is for proof of concept for me on my first actual climb with the steps. ALWAYS have a spotter when attempting this for the first time. Also, ALWAYS check all of your equipment before using anything that will test gravity, such as a tree stand, stick, or step. Lastly, ALWAYS ensure that any physical limitations are taken into account before climbing. Enjoy the video!

I’m so sad I got here after RU-vid removed dislikes, would’ve loved to see the negative ratio on this one. People who don’t know anything shouldn’t be making videos that could adversely effect another’s safety.

I keep my line level all the way around the tree to be tight then pull the step up I don’t trust the step being sturdy enough with that much slack when u have them tight around the tree and level then pull the step up above the rope it snaps hard into the tree and won’t even budge

Waist, Chest then step up and chest, step up and chest. Repeat. Lineman’s belt for support. Your lineman’s belt is setup incorrectly.

line mans belt was set up right,for the most part. but you dont know how to use it, stay on the ground.

Thank you for the observation. As I stated in the video, this was my very first climb with the equipment. In addition, I now have my H2 hunting saddle and have had quite a bit of practice since. The other purpose of these videos is to document the difficulty for a beginner. However, with time, improvement does come. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

I Bought the stepps and the process is just not that easy. Luckily I use my tether as back up otherwise I would have busted my arse!!!!

It definitely has a learning curve. Both the saddle and the steps. Im learning which trees work best for me.

Your lineman's belt needs to be adjustable.

Thank you. It is. I'm just not running one of the Ropeman 1 climbing accessories. I'm running a prusick knot on the side.
