After playing awhile on mouse and keyboard I decided to go out and buy a controller... it was awful! It made me realize how good just straight up mouse and keyboard are. I know the tips are to not caliberate... but if you use mouse and keyboard I would caliberate until you get something semi decent and you will grow into it really well. Just make sure you can get a perfect about where you want it and you can really dial in the consistency with ur mouse. I did everything from messing with my DPI and polling rates. I max my poling rate and play at 400 dpi in game sense at 50% and calibrated and feel like that's how I'm able to get the most consistent swing and not just consistency but I can shape my shots a lot better. I can purposely hit hard or soft or stripe it right down the middle. I think with practice swinging with a mouse is really good AND it almost FEELS like I'm swinging a golf club.. I like lock up my arm so I can stripe it down the middle and swing smooth. It legit feels like I'm lining up to a golf ball irl and I just get that same swing down but it involves my entire arm and shoulder. I even drained my first hole in one yesterday! It's a really fun way to learn the game just incase you were quick to discard mouse and keyboard it really does function quite well for me!

@SimWithDon I use a steelseries mouse and they have a driver software where you can adjust the settings in. My polling rate only maxes out at 1000 so I'm not even sure if that's what you WANT to do. The way I understand it is the polling rate is how often the mouse is registering inputs. So in something like a swing in this game you want it maxed out to give urself a good sensitive touch. Like I only need to pull back a couple inches which makes the follow through easier to get straight, or angle it left or right. Or I can pull back more on like a slow chip shot and like I can adjust my mouse speed for my shots As far as putting goes don't even worry about vibration. It doesn't matter. Putting is the strongest part of my game and getting a perfect is very very simple with how little you have to move the mouse and how slow it moves. Practice shots are invaluable and allow you to easily dial in the swing that is easily repeatable. The mouse is the way to go for me. It's so much more involved.. I couldn't switch to a small joystick. It was soooo inconsistent and not even comparable to how i learned to swing the mouse. By all means do what works but if anyone has just been writing off the mouse and keyboard as a legit GOOD way to play ought to reevaluate lol because it really works well. So much technique can go into it I don't see anyone dialing in that type of control on a joystick. They swipe down the middle really good but I find I don't always want to do that.

@@TheDedloc thanks for the info. My mouse is probably too cheap to play 2K23! LOL. I've tried mouse and keyboard, PS5 controller, and XBox Series S/X controller on my PC. Having some good results with the XBox controller.

I’m a week into this game. Not very good yet not terrible either as I played games in past. The swing change from career to ranked is crazy. I had no idea .

Cool challenge and great show. You can strip away all of the fitting and skills, switch fingers, but you can't take the G out of the GOAT.

I belive i mentioned long.long time ago how the ps5 controller is really good on 2k and EA. Lol what made you give it a try now? Great round as a default golfer.
