You feel the romance is moving too quickly, but In the books they explain that when a vampire finds a mate , it is for life, and it is very intense. So I would understand why it moved so fast for Edward, But I agree that on Bella’s side, it is a little fast… but again Edward told her that there’s actually a biological side to it : everything about a vampire is meant to attract humans and to be mesmerizing…. So of course she would feel an involuntary pull towards him

Really good deep dive. A+. If you were ever inclined, I'd be interested in your insights about the next one too. Maybe add some 'what I would change' bits as it starts to let you down? As far as the sparkling scene, I do think it serves a purpose in the film. One, it gives us a hint about their physical makeup in this setting, in that the venom crystalizes their cells - makes them cold, hard, and 'frozen' at the age in which they were turned. I believe there is an arguement about if that means they are also psychologically 'frozen' in their personalities/emotional development at that point, which lends some justification to the B/E relationship, but I'm not sure that holds up. Also, besides being predators who are stronger and faster than humans, vampires are frightening because of their beauty (looks, scent, voice) which lures you into letting your guard down or even being compelled to go *toward* them. Which is why vampires often represent sexuality in both its allure and anxieties. Anyway... I'm just rambling and it's hard to edit an essay on mobile😅 TLDR: See sparkles, stay for la petite mort 😝

I don't like the glitter. I like the concept though. Not that they just burn in the sun. I think if they did a more marbled look, like the older they get the more they look like stone in the light.

Edward is being careful about not losing control and biting Bella, but it’s more than that: if he’s not paying attention, he’s so strong he could just snap her in half by mistake… but sometimes people who didn’t read the books may say that the acting is bad and that there’s no connection between the actors, but the thruth is , it is done ON purpose by Robert… it is how he has to act around her in the book, VERY carefully…

No I hate the glitter thing, probably for the reason you stated, it doesn't do anything for the character. I do like this film though, I think at least this first installment is good and if I am being honest, I also enjoyed the sequels, slightly less so than this one, but I did find myself entertained, which is what you want out of these films.
