omg, this makes me so happy that you're checking them out. their songs are really fun and super catchy and they all are super talented. thank you for reacting to them
forgot to say p.o.s means portal of souls and it's like the portal aespa and their avatars use to meet. the reason karina's eyes get like that in black mamba mv is that the virus is trying to corrupt her n kinda hack her ae-aespa avatar to try to take control over her. they kinda explain some things here ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vbH4Lk5wYWg.html ) its' like episodes to explain the storyline a bit, it's this video but sm said the next video is gonna be released in few days
The fandom name is MY (“The most precious friend” in Kwangya) and Nævis is a fictional character (with short purple hair in Savage MV) in their whole Kwangya-lore thingy haha. It makes more sense when you watch their storyline stuff.
Their fandom name is MY! Naevis is a character in their lore who opens the doorways between different dimensions(?) like FLAT where the aes live and KWANGYA where they travel to fight the black mamba 😆 it can get kinda confusing but a lot of it is explained in their SMCU ep 1! Ep 2 is coming out soon too as well ;)
their concept is next level. once i come in to curious about this girl group, there is no exit. really addictied to the concept, story and their tallent. another new experince idols.
I highly recommend you watch SMCU Episode 1. Black Mamba and Episode 2. Next Level to understand their lore since SM is already focusing heavily on KWANGYA and that universe and will be expanding it to include other artists. If you get into aespa's lore, you'll find that it's really fun and interesting and you can't help but think that there's endless possibilities for it. I really love their concept, it's just so unique in kpop. No group has ever committed to their concept as much as aespa has. It's not 1 concept per comeback, it's 1 concept but it's a storyline which each comeback being an episode of that story. That's not to say it'll be the same genre each time though, they still explore different genres, they mix it with hip-hop, R&B, EDM and there's nothing stopping them from doing pop, but still making it fit into their universe. It's amazing.
Their songs are really fun and super catchy, the girls too are really cute as well I admit at first I was super confused about the concept and storyline because sm try to make it sound complicated when I think in the simplest way is that kwangya is a digital alternative universe and black mamba is a virus trying to go from there into our real world I know you wanted to check them out after watching the step back performance and if you are interested in checking out any of the rest of the girls stuff I would mention few recommendations just in case; I know you kinda know some of red velvet stuff already so I’m just talk about the rest So if you interested in checking BoA I would recommend: better, camo, one shot two shot & kiss my lips For Taeyeon I would recommend: INVU, Can’t control myself, four seasons, fine & weekend Hyo is a dj and her solo stuff are very dance electronic oriented stuff: deep, second & dessert Both Hyo and Taeyeon are from the same group as well (girls generation): into the new world, genie, you think, the boy & all night
Hello Caitlyn, here is the chronological order of the aespa MV songs: ''Black Mamba'' (Nov.16 2020), ''Forever'' (Feb.4 2021), ''Next Level'' (May.17 2021 ), ''Savage'' (Oct.5 2021), ''Dreams Come True'' (Dec.20 2021), ''Life's Too Short'' (Jun.22 2022), ''Girls'' (Jul. 7 2022). the other songs without MV are : ''aenergy'', ''I'll Make You Cry'', ''ICONIC'', ''Lucid Dream'', ''YEPPI YEPPI'', ''ICU'', ''Lingo'' and ''Illusion''. Thank you for your video reaction.
Plz check out SMCU ep.1 (Movies about what's happened between Black Mamba to Next Level MV) before SMCU ep.2 coming this 20 June. and React to Forever (The vocal was on fire) and Dreams come true (Their failu was incredible) Forever and DCT is the remake song to show their another skills. and VLOG at Coachella (They're too cute to handle)
I think with some groups, it’s better to do 1 video at a time. 3 Aespa videos is intense. I would help you with names but here’s as far as I’ve gotten, and it’s with Savage. Winter opens the video with “omg i’m a savage”, Karena has a tiny face, long hair, and throws the phone over her shoulder. Ning Ning has the copper hair and Giselle is the one who has duplicates of herself. I often am not sure if I’m looking at Winter or Karena and I mix up Giselle with Ning Ning. I’m sorry if anyone takes offense. Please consider I have trouble recognizing all faces. I’ve studied extra hard.,
They have TWO more MV's although both are remakes/rearrenged version of other old sm songs FOREVER which is a winter ballad and DREAMS COME TRUE, originally a song from the lengendary first sm girl groups s.e.s ..... they also have a SHORT MOVIE clip title SMCU EP1 BLACK MAMBA that explanis their story line
I didnt vibe with aespa until savage... i heard that first drop and suddenly it all made sense and i realized aespa had slapped all along i was just not ready yet.
aespa has a very interesting concept and storylines and music. they also have top-tier teaser pictures, b-sides, and very beautiful and most innovative album design. highly recommend checking their SMCU episode that explains more about their stories.
If you want to check out more of SM's girl groups it would be fun to discover SNSD a bit before their group reunion comeback this summer! I also can't recommend f(x) enough, SHINee's sister group! Also Kwangya is just the Korean word for "wilderness"! It was actually BoA at the very end of Black Mamba as a teaser for her new song. Giselle is my bias, she's so funny!
Naevis is not the fandom name, MY is the fandom name. Naevis (14:46) is the name of this character that sacrificed herself to let aespa communicate with ae-aespa, because Black Mamba (the villain) was trying to stop that. KWANGYA is the universe they're in and I THINK KOSMO is the universe where Naevis and ae-aespa are? I read this a long time ago so it might not be accurate, if there's any MY around please correct me. Also their mini album is really good, I recommend to check it out!
I hope you can react to their smcu ep1 and ep 2 is already coming so you can totally understand whats with their music and concepts. Aespais pretty interesting.
I think that the scene in whitch Karina's eyes turn black (as a black mamba's ones) could be a reference to this asian legend (even though it's not korean)->Naga is the Sanskrit word for "serpent," and mythology surrounding these mythical beings are prevalent in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism (via Britannica). These strong, semi-divine beings are able to change their form to be completely human or completely serpentine, and though they can be dangerous to humans, they are more often helpful beasts. The Naga have their own underground kingdom, known as Naga-loka or Patala-loka, said to be filled with beautiful, gem-decorated palaces.
Remember pre-debut Karina (the leader, tall one with straight hair) from Taemin's Want? SM had her in Taemin's Want mv and some live stages. Taemin also teased aespa's debut at the end of SuperM's One (Monster & Infinity), when he pulled up their symbol on his cell when he's walking alone in nature at the end of the mv. Anyway, I find their AI concept interesting. Thank you for sharing this reaction, Caitlyn. I'm usually so focused on Taemin and all SHINee members so this was cool, especially since aespa members are so talented.
BTW, they're having a comeback soon. If you're into more mellow songs, you can check out their MVs for Forever, Dreams Come True, and Life's Too Short (comes out today).
Yes, the girls do know what Kwangya means/is lol. Believe it or not, they are very well versed on their lore and if I remember correctly, they've mentioned a few times that they take classes on it. Because of how unique their concept is, it's been pushed a lot by SM and from the get-go they've been asked about it in interviews. So, naturally they would have to know what goes on in their lore in order to answer everyone's questions. Honestly, when it comes to a group's storyline/lore, aespa's has been the easiest for me to understand. Everything is pretty much laid out throughout their music videos and lyrics and a lot of it is explained in their short films/movies.
You’ll understand the lyrics better if you watch 'SM Culture Universe Ep:1 - Black Mamba' (10 minutes video). SM's plan for their own universe which involves the rest of their respective groups (especially NCT, EXO and Red Velvet). There's a story MV: 1. Black Mamba : Introducing the villain 2. Next Level : Aespa prepares to go to KWANGYA to defeat the black mamba 3. Savage : The Battle I suggest searching for the important words/acronyms in their storyline. FLAT - where AEs Reside / Digital World Kwangya - is described as an unruled and infinite place located beyond FLAT with no rule or form. Kosmo - The Higher form of Universe / Higher or more surreal than Kwangya. Naevis - The One who opens the P.O.S and the portal to Kwangya. P.O.S - Port of Soul/ connects the real world and digital world . SYNK - Humans Connecting with AEs. REKALL - AEs crossing the Real World. Black Mamba - The evil entity in KWANGYA that disconnects aespa and æ-aespa’s SYNK.
They have a video about their universe its called "smcu: aespa-black mamba ep.1" on their official RU-vid channel and soon they will release "ep.2 next level" on july 20th. I hope you gonna react to it😄
21:37 same girl same i love her too, she's my bias, she's a talented aespa rapper giselle, you have to watch the synk video of every aespa member, in the synk video giselle raps in 3 languages really cool. And she's is from Japan, And you have to watch aespa black mamba ep 1 to understand the storyline and concept of aespa, please more aespa reactions 💘❤🔥
I've been waiting for you to react to them - yay!! I'm still undecided who my bias is, it's either Karina or Winter?! Karina has this "it" factor but Winter's vocals though...🤦♀️ Thanks for the reaction!🌷
I love them. They are like the female counterpart of NCT (like EXO is to Red Velvet and SHINee is to F(x) ) soundwise so expect weird sounds, amazing voices and perfectly produced music
