The lyrics are both literal and figurative. They talk about Filipinos' obsession with everything colonial. Maraming salamat po sa reaction niyo. I enjoyed it!
Knowing that they have the shortest training period among the recently debuted boy groups, I can say na sobrang galing nila and they are still improving pa everytime. Malayo pa mararating ng group na ito. I just wish for more exposure para sa kanila.
My own interpretation: the lyrics is about how we fell in love with the colonizers too much (esp. Americans) to the point the we forgot our own identity and history.
Wow, I love this take!! Originally I thought that the lyrics had nothing to do with the video, but your interpretation makes a lot of sense. It also make sense because there were parts of the video where they were being romantic to the masked figures.
Next to SB19 they are the boy group that I am stanning. Proud Magi'Tin (Magiliw + A'Tin) here. They have the vocals, visuals, rapping and dancing prowest. They have clear concept as well. Maybe I am just looking for mas malalim na meaning ng songs from them in the future.💙
Mabuhaaaay! Hiiiii! thank you po for watching their music video. Im loving the reactions!!! Looks like you really enjoyed it. 😄 Here's an exciting news!!! Alamat will be dropping a brand-new MV on November 3rd at 6 PM PHT. Marks their comeback with a full LP. Are you up for checking it out? You can get a sneak of their MV teaser and title track, "Dagundong" available on their channel. Dont forget to open CC for full translation of the lyrics. Maraming Salamat po! See you and enjoy! 🤩🤎
#PPOPRISE!
React to Kirby Araullo's reaction to this, kasmala. He is Filipino Historian, hinimay himay niya yung mga ipinakita sa mv. Grabe madami kayong matututunan don.
Yes very much recommended kase dun ko actually nakuha yung meaning ng mv set asiding the song kase base sa visuals and settings na nakikita natin sa mv iba ang story na gustong ibahagi. Actually kuya matt korek po kayo dun sa sinabi nyo about dun sa in exhibit na tribe and sa react ni Kirby Araullo most of his reaction talks about that things happened way back na hindi natin napag aralan sa school. Panoorin nyo po yun MattSummerTv kase dun nyo po mafigure out yung meaning ng mv coz Kirby Araullo stressed out things about Igorot or Cordilleran people in the hands of American people.

So glad that some reactors give their time to acknowledge other ppop groups potential. Just want to add please support PHP din for upcoming debut on August 6 and 1stOne for their upcoming comeback soon. Please do support PPOP! Ppop rise!🔥
Yesss, another Ppop group worth stanning. They were originally 9 members but one of them left for personal matters. Fun fact, they sing their songs in different Philippine languages, coz they hail from different regions here in the Philippines just like you noticed. So other members sing in their native tongues in parts of their songs, representing their heritage. That's what I like about them hehe.
I think you guys should send a DM to ALAMAT'S admin so that you guys can personally interview them. Our boys would love to be interviewed, especially the local ones. You may ask all of the questions that are inside you heads po hehehe
Thank you for reacting to Alamat's comeback single kasmala. I'm glad na appreciate niyo talaga mga boses nila. Alamat is actually a pool of talented (2 are local artists in their place, theater actors, were in a band, 7 of them can play various musical instruments etc) boys from different parts of the Philippines. Yung challenge sa kanila is kung panu mag blend talent nila para sa isang boy group. kasmala MV refences (not complete) Pls check Brgy Magiliw (Twitter) for the complete thread. The MV started with a shot of Taneo (a half Igorot himself) being tied on a pole. This depicts the dark history of the Igorots during the 1904 World's Fair at St. Louis, USA. The Igorots in the expo were forced to kill & eat dogs and were coerced to perform tribal ceremonies on a 'daily' basis, for the local's amazement and for the US regime to cement their claim that the whites were more superior and that the U.S. needed to make the Philippines a colony because of their uncivilized ways.
Yes, please react to their predebut cover songs. They have very strong vocals and rappers too. They covered Hindi Tayo Pwede, Wala Na Bang Pag-ibig, and their Kbye live acoustic
A'tin x Magiliw
Fact about me whenever I watch foreign reactors I skip the part where they talk too much like when it's super long, but when I watch Pinoy reactors I couldn't skip any part of what they're saying.
Happy 10k subs Ot3!🎉👏🥰 Thank u po for this rv!
Yan din po akala ko Love song Pero if you Actually if papakinggan mo sya ng Masinsinan, Akala ko they are Referring about a girl pero it was Actually our motherland, their love for their country and they relate it to our past kung dati inaapak apakan lang tayo pero We are Actually Strong ang Exceptional.
Thank you so much for reacting to kasmala by ALAMAT. I like how you guys got the story somewhat even if you haven't read or seen the concept teasers they've put out. The song and the video tackle two different things. 1. Song is about getting lovestruck on first glance. 2. Video is about mistreatment of our ancestors by Americans under colonialism. Although there are interesting comments out there where you can interpret lyrics of 1 with visuals of 2. I tend to agree with those interpretations, too.
ako man super sb19 fan.. pero nakaka intriga talaga un concept ng alamat... music wise very catchy un mga kanta nila and super talented ng boys.... medyo mahina lang sila sa editing ng mga vlogs and videos nila medyo kulang...
The song Kasmala (malakas = strong). This song and its lyrics are in different languages from different regions of the Philippines and represent (the woman, Philippines). It entails the history, cultures, tradition, languages. The deeper meaning of the song is referencing slavery, inter-racial, racism, colonization. The Philippines is a diverse race. The costume represents different islands and regions. White clothes mean white skin. The ABC part was trying to push the change of the Philippine alphabet. The stick Kali (Filipino Martial Arts); during Spanish colonization they kept this art hidden from the colonizer. Alamat is taking the stance to show part of the history of the Philippines. Alamat is a multilingual group of at least seven different dialects/languages of the Philippines. They are all Filipinos.
Yes Matt, true about sa exposition bukod sa mga Pilipino meron din from different tribes/countries, it was tagged as largest human zoo which is pinakita sa mv. and same tayo, medyo sensitive din ako sa part ng history natin na to.
What im really happy about this RV and you three is that you keep your momentum and reliability to speak the truth. As you three drop different reception from the MV and from the group themselves. Genuine and Honest RV indeed. Ayieeeeeeee 🤣☺ AS ALWAYS. CONGRATS ULIT SA 10K SUBS NYO!!! 🔥 🥳 ❤
Thank you for this RV! The song is literally a flirtatious song if you will barely listen to it. However, I think that in general, the MV wants to pay tribute to the opression and racial discriminations sufferred by the Filipinos before. That despite those, they became strong and they thrived. They are Kasmala! A detailed explanation was explained by a Filipino historian, Kirby Araullo in his YT channel. This is there 4th song to date. They just debuted last Feb 14 and I also think that their strength as a group is their vocals and their rapline. They have a lot of covers like Wala na bang pag-ibig and Hindi Tayo puwede along with their pre-debut cover compilations which can also be found on Alamat YT channel. More power to you po!
Yay OT3! I missed you! Team replay here! I like this group. Very promising and talented. Magaling sila kumanta. You should watch their live song covers meron silang compilation on their yt channel. But I agree with Blake. I wanna see correlation with the theme and the lyrics too but from my own interpretation din, I think the scene where it shows na the white person was srcubbing his arm, I got na love your skin, love your color. Be proud of your color and try to break the beauty standards that the westerners imposed to us. Yun yung dating sakin and they’re glorifying parang Filipina/Filipino beauty dahil nakakabighani daw mga pilipino ganun lang for me.
Yes. Ppop rise! I also support this group becausw they’re talented and they have a lot of potential. At first, I was worried about them bec they trained so quick and I think that, that affected their chemistry as a group as one member left already prior to this comeback. But I like that they’re very pinoy and they’re not afraid to showcase different filipino culture and languages. Plus this MV has a lot of educational and historical references.
Hi po! Thank you for reacting to ALAMAT! They have archipelago covers po of Hindi Tayo Pwede (The Juans) and Wala Na Bang Pag-ibig (Jaya) it's on their youtube channel. They also posted predebut covers of each members po on their youtube account. They have a very strong vocal line po coz each member have different tones and color. I'm so excited po for your reactions on them in the future.
You can also check out their debut single called "kbye". It has a very different vibe po as compared to Kasmala. Fun fact: Kasmala is supposed to be their debut song but the members made kbye and showed it to the management so kbye became their debut song.
Btw baka malito po kayo sa mga covers nila and debut song kasi there used to be 9 members sa group. Sa Hindi Tayo Pwede, two of the members there ay wala na sa group: Ambri and Kin. Ambri was replaced by Alas months before ALAMAT debuted, so for Wala na bang Pag-ibig, nandoon na si Alas. Kin left the group after they debuted so sa Wala na bang Pag-ibig at kbye, nandoon pa si Kin. Medyo confusing but yeah hahaha
also branding po tlga nila ung ibat ibang language sa songs. they were hand-picked from various regions of the Philippines with the intention of showcasing local talents and promote their individual culture and languages.
i also have a high hopes to this group sana lang ay suportahan sila ng viva.. gabayan ng maayos at bigyan sila ng freedom to do their crafts, na i think ganun naman ginagawa ng viva.. kasi talented talaga alamat at marunong din sila gumawa ng song at mag produce ng music like alas and he can rap and also si mo na bias ni josh sb19 magaling din mag rap and power vocals din though lahat naman sila can sing flex ko lang bias ko si tomas hehe former pbb teen and sa choreo sila sila din ang in charge naman dun ay si main dancer and youngest jao, need lang more practice sa performing at experience since bata pa sila... ppop rise!
Actually the woman in the lyrics is the Philippines
I share the same thoughts with Ate Blake, the music video really portrayed strong concept, for me mas magiging strong yun kung mas na-emphasize sana ng mismong kanta kung anong gustong iparating ng music video. More on, hinahanap ko rin talaga yung correlation ng song (kapag pinapakinggan) and ng music video (kapag vinivisualize) ko na kung anong meaning ng song.. But anyways, Congrats pa rin sa ALAMAT for the successful comeback..
doon sa tanong nila sa correlation ng song sa MV. sakin lang to ah. but you can interpret the song as a love song of a man falling in love with a woman. but it also relates to how the foreigners/esp the Americans being fascinated by our "exotic" skin color, culture at face value but at the same time expressing racism. the men in white costumes represents these foreigners. treating our Filipino ancestors as zoo animals but also having asian kinks (taneo's ginapang scene). It happened horrifically in 1904 and still happening in the present. #stopasianhate.
React to their covers of "Wala Na Bang Pag-Ibig" and "Hindi Tayo Pwede." :))
