Anthony Jeselnik used to date Amy Schumer (and many speculate used to ghost write jokes for her in her early years in comedy) and in the roast the year before she made a joke about Ryan Dunn dying to Steve-O who was one of his best friends and she received a bunch of backlash and death threats over it so Anthony was doing a callback to a previous roast when he said the "best part is that Ryan Dunn isn't alive to see it"
this is maybe the hardest I've ever heard roasts go, he went deep into their families with these jokes, I mean cheating, getting cheated on and getting busted with drugs or..infidelity is nothing compared talking about incest and parents walking out on you or that john ritter joke etc, he cut deep haha, it's funny how usually the person roasted doesn't even get it the worse, many times they just get praised, like by the time they get to them they can't fathom being harsh to them
Yes Gilbert Gottfried was the parrot in Aladdin haha, he was a great comedian too, we just lost him last year sadly. And man these jokes are DARK, even for Anthony. I feel like the Glee one especially and the Ryan Dunn one. And I just watched Married with Children recently cause I loved it as a kid too. I'm pretty sure I watched it on Hulu but it might be elsewhere too. Also RIP to Carrie Fischer she had a great sense of humor and was just an impressive person to me for several reasons. Really enjoyed this whole roast

First time I've seen Anthony was at the Donald Trump roast in 2011. He was always one of the best roasters the few times he took part. The last comedy central roast was the one of Alec Baldwin in 2019. There's no official statement that they stop doing them. These were mostly produced by Jeff Ross and he doesn't give a damn if people get offended. One if my favorites is the roast of Rob Lowe where Jimmy Carr crushed it imo.
I know this is old, but Britt said she thought Gilbert was a teacher in an old movie and I think I know exactly what she means…he was the principal in the 2nd Problem Child movie. A 90s kid classic

Comedy Central does still exist. The last roast they did was the roast of Alec Baldwin in 2019. Not sure when the next one will be, or if they will do more. However Netflix has a series in the works called Greatest roasts of all time which will apparently start off with the roast of Tom Brady.

I have cable Comedy Central went through a “strategy change” they mostly play the office and southpark. The only new shows they have are the daily show, South Park, a random adult cartoon and some random nyc based show everything else was canned for reruns. I honestly watch the office on there all the time so it was probably a good move for them but I do really miss the roasts and tosh.0

The roasts they sometimes have are roasts that slam the next person on stage. Like Snoop slams Martha Stewart, she slams Justin Bieber and so on. I think it is the Charlie Sheen roast, where he nails Patrice and only he and Patrice get the joke. Else it was the trump roast. One of those.
