Yes Barry Eugene Carter aka (Barry white) lord what can i say my mom love this man beside listening to radio. I used look at his album covers as a kid she had so much of his music. So i was already created before barry music....LOL. But yes he understood how songs be composed produced also a musician without being so explicit he was sexual sensual. But he was about the art of love being in love making love verbally expressing it. His library is massive and the THE LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA played a big role in his 70"s catalogue. They used to called him the Maestro. The unlimited orchestra instrumentals which was 40 piece Orchestra alone had solo albums still barry part of it. But there are so many samples on the instrumental alone. He also created the girl group LOVE UNLIMITED in which the lead singer Glodean james became his wife. Had hits also like "Walking in the rain with the one i love" "I belong to you" my favorites " Oh love, Well we finally made it" " Cant let him down" Glodean recorded duets with barry in the 80s.

Barry white was such a gifted musician. He couldn’t read music but he composed, arranged, conducted, produced, orchestrated…immensely talented man! R.I.P. Barry.

Your vid at 2:39 drummer intro, playing superb ghost notes on the snare & the consistency of the high hat that make this beat timeless; 2:41 the clavinet & harpsichord (I think! And I feel like that part is one of the foundations of Future & Metro's "LIKE THAT" song); 3:30 THE DROP of the bass & piano is so damn 🔥🔥🔥#OMG playing this in my car again and again just to hear the beginning! 3:41, The comping electric piano steams this fire up a little more; 3:57 or so, the orchestra strings comping with the electric piano is such a damn vibe; 4:05 very subtle single note string line coming in softly and increases in volume: 4:06, one guitar mirroring the piano part; 4:27 or so, the other guitar playing chords with wah wah pedal, panned to your left ear; 4:28 We're all in! HOT DAMN> This is straight 🔥🔥🔥These little details add punch to a reaction video. It follows the suspense & beauty of the arrangement. This is how I hear it. #musiciansear

JJ, remember me from that story I told you about ZOOM from back in the day? I'm proud of you for opening your mind and going on this journey to discover some of the classics back in the day, particularly the classic soul and R&B. "Never Gonna Give You Up" is another great one from Barry White. You should check it out, the close to five minutes version, the eight minutes version is overkill (IMO).

You were talking about classic music being so amazing. Hiphop music introduced loads of young people to classic soul and rock songs. If not for Dr Dre Parliament/Funkadelic would be lost to the younger generation. Marley Marl using James Brown. Premier, Q-tip and RZA using jazz samples. I would know none of this music. Of course all sample usage is not great, which is what sets Premier, Timbaland, Dr Dre, Track-masters, J-Dilla, apart from the rest. For everything, there is a time and place.

I feel you, it use to annoy me when i dig in the hip hop archives and discover bars that were used by the 90s rappers that I thought were so sick. I find they “borrowed” a bar or two from Rakim a bit too often especially.

Hmm.... How can samples take away from the original track? I think it takes away from the track that did the sample because they took the easy way out. They didn't create their own. It use to be called stealing until the started making them pay for samples. There was no such thing as sampling back in the day.. it came about through hip hop. The good is that it introduced a bunch of young people to older music but the bad....well i think you said it in another video yourself. Artist back in the day could usually do at least 2 things.. Sing, dance, play at least 1 instrument, write lyrics, compose, perform etc. Some artist today cant do 1 thing. But you can make millions of dollars off of samples of great music. That is how great some sons are. You can keep bring them back over and over and over again and they will always be a hit. All music is NOT timeless but GREAT music is absolutely timeless. Your kids will listen to Barry White, Marvin Gaye etc and will love it. Thats the genius of those artists.

Well its understandable you were only listening to music today at one point because this is your era. Like all young people do listening what's popping now. Every generation always had listening to era's of music before them. Myself included since i was late 60's baby but 70's kid 80's teen. But how many songs will hold their value to be still listening to like 10 15 20 or even 5 years from now? like the songs your reacting to until this day. These songs stood the test of time. Sampling has been a controversial subject for years but the pro's & cons of it. To a certain degree it takes away especially if those songs wasn't cleared. But sampling did do a couple of things. It created a genre of rap music which there was other elements that help influences hip hop also. And second it reintroduced the original song to a generation that probably never heard of it. Rap songs or trap rap some calls it don't sample as much these days because one reason the publishers wants a high percentage of cut the music being used. Most artist produced their own music beats. Eventhough the beats audio effects or whatever is so repetitive. For myself the original songs is never be taken away for me to listen to because of its origins of being good music. And im a hip hop girl also these songs was part of my life.
