I've been a Bobby fan since I understood anything he was ever singing about... must've been the power in his voice and the way he used it so masterfully. The wonderful thing about the artists we love is that when they pass away, God made sure they left us with their God-given gifts of talent, and though we won't get more of them, THERE IS RU-vid& the uploaders so we can enjoy our faves again & again!

I forgot all about this song, Bobby Womack was truly a talented brother. His personal life got in the way of him being more successful. A group like New Birth covered his "I Can Understand It," which became a really successful version, but it was originally the talent of Bobby.

As an artist and producer, the word that I've always associated with Bobby Womack is "DEEP." Bobby was R&B with a country-western' feel to his music. He tells amazing stories. Listen to some of the old Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett records he produced. Also, when you hear Bobby, can you hear K'Ci Haley of Jodeci? The more you play R&B from this era, THE MORE YOU TEACH.

Bobby Womack's back catalogue is worth digging into, plus there seems to be at least fifty other Womacks in the family tree who are also in the music business. A musical rabbit hole worth going down.

This song has been a favorite of mime for a long time . And I just loved seeing your reaction . I could see those feeling I get every time I hear this song emanating from you . The guitar is haunting and takes on a life of it's own . And Bobby has a voice that's one of a kind and his words you can relate to because he sings about life . Bobby sings from his soul . I believe some of the tragedies he has suffered in life comes through in his music . Often times I just have me a good old Bobby Womack concert . .Bobby be making me have feeling that only his music can bring out in me . Loves me some Bobby !!! And yes you are right . He is a BAD MAN !!!!!!!

I used to have a part time job as an Air Force base theater manager. I used to bring in my CD mix discs to play in the theater before the movie started. One evening this song happened to be playing when it was time to start the movie, so I cut the song off before it finished. The audience booed like crazy.

Bobby Womack was no joke! He was called "The Preacher" because he was a great story teller! (KiC & Jo were influenced by Bobby and Sam & Dave!) Aretha did a really nice version of this on her "Oh Me Oh My: Live In Philly, 1972" CD: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DVD2n4BRr3w.html. He also did a nice duet with Patti LaBelle called "Love Has Finally Come At Last":ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P1dj5HJVItU.html.
