Thank you for reacting to Ian, he is such a gem and just one of a kind artist who has such a creative vision that he has really created himself. I highly sugest miito movie pt 1, Peanut Butter and Tears, and limbo (limbo is also connected to dont go insane). There is a huge storyline but its kinda hard to explain in one comment. The way he is so vulnerable with his art and chooses to express his disorders in such a creative way is really inspiring to me. and the more u learn about him the better he gets really :) hope to see him on ur channel again soon

I have became ever so slightly obsessed with DPR Ian since I discovered him in November. I love his voice, his music and his MVs are total works of art! I listen to music for about 6 hours a day and lately I reckon 2 hours of it is Stray Kids, The Rose and DPR Ian! I recommend So I Danced, Scaredy Cat, Peanut butter & Tears, hell, his whole playlist is good!

Yayyy!! Dpr ian is my fav artist like ever so insanely talented and creative. He directs and even edits all his own videos which is wildd. His artistry is based all around his bipolar disorder as well as his DID (dissacociative identity disorder) there are multiple "characters" named Mito and mr. Insanity that are portrayed conceptually but they are actually based on his real life. I really hope u do more of him i HIGHLY recommend MIITO movie pt 1, its clips of 4 songs from his last album with incredible visuals he did all himself. I think he is such a unique artist in every sense and its so worth while getting into him

Yes, there is a "story line" really realated to which person he is based on the apearance and sound of his voice. His songs are realted to his mental health (he has spoken about being bi-polar and DID). He also directs and edits all of his MVs. Very creative individual who can kindo of be a cinnamon roll

Please react to Skins by DPR Ian. It's a demo but it's great. Mito (his alter - Ian has DID, so an alter is basically another person in the same body) made the song and shot the video in 2 days. Ian woke up from the black out and found the video so he decided to release it as raw as it is. Mito is Ian's "protector" in medical terms, the alter that remembers their traumas (DID stems from severe childhood trauma before the personality is formed, the child fragments the brain into another person that could deal with their trauma). Mito then habits the body when Ian is going through though times. So it's basically a letter from Mito to Ian about how it feels to hold their traumas.

Warning: LONG explanation comment ahead all about DPR and this song. Welcome to the world of DPR Ian! As you know from your google search, Ian is Korean Australian. He was born and raised in Australia until he moved to Korea on a whim at 18. Then he ended up in a kpop group called C-Clown from 2012 to 2015 until they dispanded. Now Ian is a part of DPR which is an artist collective of different artists that do their own music and production but come together to make DPR what it is. DPR stands for "Dream Perfect Regime" and it is basically a place for the artists to not hold themselves back and do whatever they can think of. There are many people that are on the DPR team behind the scenes, and those that are the public artists for the label all have the tag DPR before their name. DPR LIVE (who was the featured rapper on "No Blueberries") is a rapper/producer who was the main face as an artist of the DPR label at the beginning (he is currently on a hiatus from DPR to release solo music under his own name),DPR CREAM is a music producer, DPR CLINE is a recording artist, and DPR IAN was once just the visual director for all the DPR music videos behind the scenes, but now he is also a music artist as well. DPR Ian and DPR Rem (who has since left the company but managed the business side of it until late 2022) along with DPR LIVE created DPR together. Ian was always known by fans of DPR for being a fantastic director and has directed MVs for all of DPR, and some big artists and companies somewhat discretly over the years. Ian has always said that he has a wild imagination so he uses making videos and using effects to try to bring to life what he sees in his head. The thing with Ian is that he does everything himself with his music or he has maybe 1 or 2 other people off his team help him out sometimes. He writes all his lyrics, produces his music, directs his MVs, and edits them all as well. With Ian's music, it can be very dark, yet all over the place, with a good reason. Ian has Bipolar disorder and has been very open about how that is what inspired his music career. He has said that he knew he couldn't write songs about things he didnt experience or couldn't relate to, so he writes about his struggles with Bipolar disorder. Ian has created a whole storyline and universe around his songs and characters he has created for all of his MVs. (It is seriously too much to get into the whole storyline here because then this comment would never end, but if you want to know I can make another comment) With his bipolar, he swiches for his manic highs to mainic lows, which he has given names to. He said that it may have been dangerous to give his switches names, as it gives them more power in his mind, but he is learning to deal with it still. So when he is in his manic lows, he is MITO, and in his manic highs he turns to Mr. Insanity. These are two of the characters in his MV stroylines, but some people don't understand that they are NOT just characters, but in real life they are a part of Ian that he has to deal with. In 2023 Ian also made public that he has a form DID as well, which makes his switches to MITO specifically that more prominent. He said that it is dangerous when he switches to MITO since he literally blacks out. Ian has said that overall he views MITO as the more dangerous one to switch to, but Mr. Insanity can be just as scary becuase he becomes reckless and doesn't care about consequences. Ian has said that when he films MVs, most of the time he is not acting as he is actually in the mental state of the character he is trying to portray. That is vert prominent in "So Beautiful" where Ian said that he literally switched on camera and doesn't remember some of the filming. Also, in another more recent release called "SKINS" demo, MITO literally made the song and shot the MV. Ian switched, and MITO decided to make a song, then when Ian came back from that state, he was left with "SKINS" and released it as is with no changes and no mastering (which is why it is a demo). So Ian says that song is the most true real form of MITO, not the one in the storyline as the song is completely seperate from that. So whenever you see Ian in a MV, know that 80% of the time he is not acting and that is literally just what he looks and feels like at that time while filming. Ian has only introduced us to how Mr. Insanity would be like in music this last year in 2023 with his latest album "Dear Insanity" which is like a letter from Ian to his insane side. This is where you saw him in "Don't Go Insane" where it is the origins of Mr. Insanity. That whole album also has a sort of mini storyline with 2 other MVs as well. Both of his previous albums before this have been focused on the story of MITO so they are more dark and eerie. Also, in some instances it can be hard to tell when he is MITO or Mr. Insanity in an MV, so there is a sort of trick to tell. Most of the time MITO will be shown in black and white and/or be missing an eye and wearing it as a ring or necklace in some cases. Mr. Insanity has golden or multi colored eyes with lots of color or butterflies around him. It is crazy to see the difference between Ian's sides on screen knowing that in his real daily life he is switching too. "No blueberries" is the song directly following "So Beautiful" in release order and in his storyline. In that MV we see Ian running away from a blueberry monster, and Ian has said that the song basically is about not wanting to associate yourself with people you can't connect with or don't want to connect with. It features DPR LIVE, and CL, who was the girl in the "So Beautiful" MV. Ian and CL have been great friends for a while and Ian was in (and directed) CL's 5-Star MV. That MV came out a little bit before Ian made his solo debut and it is honestly such a lovey dovey cute MV. As far as song recommendations, I would say your should continue from his first releases off his first and 2nd album up until his 3rd to see it all in order, (the next songs from his first album with MVs would be "Nerves" and "Scaredy Cat"). Or, you could check out the storyline following "Don't Go Insane". The two other MVs in that storyline in order are "So I Danced" and "Peanut Butter and Tears". Another song that kind of goes along with the Mr. Insanity storyline (and kind of MITO as well) is " LIMBO ", which is also somehow related to the "Don't Go Insane" MV but was a seperate later release apart from the album. So there is my long comment about DPR and DPR Ian. If you read all of this, first off wow, and also thank you.

So glad you're checking out DPR Ian! He has one of the most brilliant minds I've ever come across. His lyrics and mv's are quite complex but luckily he explains their meanings quite a bit in interviews or on his lives. His interviews are absolutely fascinating! I highly suggest you check them out. Some of my faves are with JREKML, Zach Sang and recently (like a month or 2 ago) he did an interview with a fan/reactor called Say What Reacts and it was incredibly insightful about his mental illnesses. He goes live on Instagram occasionally and his lives are really great because he's such a deep and thoughtful, yet hilarious and sweet guy. You can find a few fan channels that post his lives. Yes yes yes! Dpr ian is one the most talented and creative people ever. Others have already kind of explained the general basis and things to react to so i want to help explain the "characters" u see for next time. First Mito - he is who ian becomes in is depressive state and he actually blacks out during this period due to his DID. u will know its him when u see the one eye and deeper voice, and often in black and white. He is sometimes in color tho. The So Beautiful mv is the epitome of who Mito is and the video is basically portraying Ian turning into Mito. Mr insanity - manic state and the Dont go Insane mv is portraying a version of him. He is colorful and chaotic with gold, green, and purple are his colors. He is shown differently in each mv while mito is more consistent in the portrayal. Then we have just normal Ian where he is looks just himself. Hopefully this will help u recognize these different characters. Dont worry if u dont completley get it tho, just enjoy thats what matters ❤ If u got thru this whole comment i applaud u haha😂
