Henry is fluent in English since he's from Canada! He's also a big social butterfly in the kpop industry and has a lot of friends. I like his music but his personality is what really made me stan him. He's just so sweet, outgoing and funny. He also does a lot of variety shows.

As you may know, Henry is considered a music genius. He was classically trained in violin and piano since the age of 6 and he had plans to go to college to study classical music. But the year he graduated high school he auditioned for SM Entertainment when they held auditions in Canada and he impressed them so much with his violin dance routine that they signed him right away. Which is why he was first introduced as the mysterious violin player in Super Junior's "Don't Don" MV in 2007, even before his debut. (After joining SM and debuting with SJM he got a full-ride scholarship to Berklee School of Music in New York and he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in music.) Henry was one of the Kpop industry's very first foreign artists, and he only trained for about a year before he debuted in Super Junior -- and that was only because he needed to learn Korean and become more proficient in Mandarin. He debuted with SuJu-M in 2008, so he has been a famous musician, artist, entertainer, producer, etc. for more than 14 years now. He is 32 years old now and he is the youngest member of Super Junior -- he debuted when he was 18 years old. And, not only is he a musician, but, as you have seen, he is also known as a really good dancer and for the fact that he can dance while singing and playing the violin all at the same time. He is one of the first and only musicians to combine choreography while playing the violin. In high school he was the leader of the dance club and the orchestra, which is where he got the idea to combine his two passions. Henry's main dance style is popping and locking. EXO's Lay credits Henry with teaching him popping when he was a trainee. Last year he was even part of the Chinese dance competition show Street Dance of China season 4 where he competed with and against some of the best dancers from around the world as a team captain alongside Lay from EXO and Hangeng who was a former member of Super Junior and the leader of SJ-M (who was the very first non-Korean member of a Kpop group.) As a skilled music producer, Henry even created a lot of the music his team used for their dance routines on SDC4. Fun fact: Henry was the music producer and a dacer on the currently airing program called Fly To The Dance, where famous Kpop choreographers and dancers spent a couple of weeks in the U.S. busking with dance performances in New York and L.A. Fly To The Dance just airing its last episode this week. If you want to see another aspect of Henry's production genius, check out some of the episodes of Fly To The Dance. He can play almost any instrument. As you can see, he also is a very accomplished music producer. He has wrote, composed and produced all his own solo work, as well as numerous songs for other artists and Korean- and Chinese-drama and movie OSTs. He is the one who taught Lay how to compose and produce music. Lay credits Henry with helping him become a solo artist. One of Henry's most recent songs is "Radio" from his album Journey, which came out in 2020. He has a Korean version, Mandarin version and an English version of "Radio." But what you really need to see is a live performance of "Radio." Not only is he a musician, but he is a true performer, so all his live performances are designed to engage and entertain the audiences, and he never performs a song the same way twice. To hear the song in Mandarin, check out this performance from a Chinese award show, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KbdBxPBmXKM.html; or to hear Henry's one-man-band solo version live on a Korean music program check out, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gto4SxuNrwY.html; or to see a 4 cello and rock guitar version check out, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oYl9KKMqGZc.html; or for an acoustic version check out, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ek7Z8_bwntk.html. "Monster," which is one of my favorite songs from 2018, was his last solo song release under SM. He has an English version of "Monster" MV, a Chinese "Monster" MV and a Korean audio only version of "Monster." Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian -- his dad is from Hong Kong, his mom is from Taiwan, and he was born and raised in Canada. He speaks 4 languages fluently -- English, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese -- and he speaks numerous other languages moderately well. He works really hard to speak to fans in their native language so he has learned a lot of languages over the past 14+ years. Now, before someone says "Henry is not a part of Super Junior any more," I want to point out that it has never officially been said that Henry has left Super Junior. Yes, he left SM in 2018 when his contract was up after 10 years, and started his own independent company called Monster Entertainment Group, but that doesn't necessarily mean he left the group. Some true fans are holding out hope that this means he still may collaborate with SJ on projects in the future. (He is still living and working in Korea and he is still in contact with all the SJ members, etc. Plus, Super Junior has their own music label so they are more free to collaborate and work with whomever they want.) After all, the 3 members of Girls' Generation who left SM are currently promoting with SNSD as part of their 15th anniversary comeback and their song "Forever 1". Which is why when Girls' Generation made their previous comeback they did it as a sub-unit Oh!GG, because they weren't the full group. And even Taecyeon from 2PM left JYP Entertainment, but his new company has partnered with JYP to allow Taecyeon to continue activities with 2PM. After all, Henry is one of Lee SooMan's (SM's) favorite people. (Even though SM may have never allowed Henry to reach his full potential under them, which is part of the reason why he left the company. But I don't think there was any bad blood between them when he left, and he has always been one of SM's most prized artists for the amount of talent he has.) In 2008, when SM announced the addition of Henry and Zhoumi (two Chinese members) to Super Junior's group and the creation of Super Junior-M -- which was designed to create music in Mandarin for the Chinese music industry -- Korean fans protested. Some fans were against adding any new members to Super Junior (which already had 13 members). So the Korean fans forced SM to agree to only make Henry and Zhoumi members of Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit (they needed more Chinese members to make the Chinese sub-unit work), and they were not allowed to be included in anything to do with the main group of Super Junior. So, when not doing activities with Super Junior-M, Henry and Zhoumi also became some of SM's first members of an active group to go solo. (SJ-M's success in China is why EXO-M even existed.) Now as an independant solo artist, Henry has launched his own RU-vid Channel and he has become one of the most popular Kpop artists on RU-vid. You should check out the weekly RU-vid show that Henry produces called Henry Together, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AUcvkNOhlo8.html, where he invites child prodigy musicians and dancers on his show to showcase their talent and to mentor them. On his show he spotlights amazing young artists while creating really cool collaboration performances on the spot with these children. He is a big inspiration to many people and lots of artists and musicians look up to him. Henry's fans are called Strings because of his classical music background and his RU-vid channel followers are Henemies (sp.?). As you can see by the way I gush, Henry is my ultimate bias, and Super Junior is one of my bias groups, so sorry if I come off kind of strong with my passion and love. LOL

Henry is totally underrated… tbh i was a fan of henry first and i know super junior through him… SM was on harsh henry like he deserves more than he did… if you’re wondering why you rarely seen henry with suju in any show, its because some elfs dont want extra members (they already have 13 members) so henry and zhoumi are not considered as the official member of suju… even if you google ‘members of super junior’,, their names are not listed so thats why henry and zhoumi were not involved in any super junior activities.. henry once said on a show that he’s the less popular within super junior bcs during a fan sign, the other members have a lots of fans lining in front of them to get their signs, but there are very few fans lining for him…its sad that he was treated like that.. i truly think he deserves more.. Ent industry in korea is quite harsh on chinese bcs china is the ally of north korea.. so since henry is canadian with chinese parents it becomes problems whenever he did something related to china ( i read somewhere that he need to leave i live alone bcs of his controversy of posting a video playing violin of a song titled ‘i love china’ on weibo and lots of knet criticised him)… hangeng(ex member of suju) was treated very harshly too back then just because he’s a chinese (the first chinese who become an idol in korea) and SM clearly abandoned him even when he’s sick (his story was very sad tho, he is prohibited from performing on tv show bcs he’s chinese but since he still wants to perform he needs to wear mask to cover his face while performing and his pay was the lowest within the members).. so to conclude, chinese members in suju are underrated and deserves more… anyway, i want to suggest you some henry’s song which js ‘girlfriend’,’radio’ and ‘its you’

Thank you for reacting to Henry!!! Henry’s debut story is a super sad one. SM (who apparently learnt nothing from the negative reaction they received when they added Kyuhyun to SJ) planned to add Henry to SJ in 2007. He was actually introduced as the violinist in Don’t Don but K-Elf massively opposed his addition to the group. They even bought SM shares to protest against his inclusion and organized mass protests… Henry, who was only 17 at the time, receive so much backlash and hate from K-Elfs…. SM still decided to proceed with debuting Henry (and added Zhoumi who also received a lot of hate) to Super Junior M (the subunit meant to break into China). Both Korean-Elfs and Chinese-Elfs were unhappy with Henry and Zhoumi being added to the subunit… the protest got to a point where SM had to come out and clearly state that neither Henry nor Zhoumi would be included/considered SJ members, only SJ-M. That’s why you only see them in some limited videos and never with the SJ lineup. Henry eventually got to debut as a solo artist in 2013 and gained fame and recognition as an entertainer through variety shows in both Korea and China. He left SM when his contract ended in 2018 and set up his own company. He’s done work as an actor, entertainer, sing we-songwriter and producer. You may want to check him out in Begin Again, Fly to the Dance (he was the music director, MC, dancer), his own RU-vid channel. If you want to see him interact with SJ members, then look up, Happy Together ( 2013.07.24), Super Junior M Guesthouse, Radio Star ep 463, some Chinese variety shows. Henry was also on Street Dance China 4 with Han Geng (it was very nostalgic to see them together again after more than 10 years).

Henry is known for his violin playing and in almost EVERTHING he does he plays his violin. He owns dozens of volines -- some very old and some really new, including some unique ones, such as electric volines, etc. You just need to start following him more and you will see he uses his violins all the time, whether it's when he composes a song, produces something for a TV show, in live award show performances, or on hundreds of variety shows. He plays his violin on TV more than most idols sing and dance. You will see that his violin is part of his identity, he is fully aware of the fact that it makes him unique. The story in Henry's "Fantastic" MV is that the violine represents the girl. He loves and cherishes the girl like a musician who loves his instrument, and together they make fantastically beautiful music. The girl -- i.e. the violin -- is so perfect that she is the one that gives him his power, which is why we see him plugged in to the violin in the beginning because the violin is like an extension of himself. Fun fact: If you study the set where you see him dancing in the MV, you will notice that he is inside the body of a violin. The room is shaped like what it would look like if you were inside a violin and all the slits in the walls and ceiling are the vents and holes you see on a violin. "1 4 3 (I Love You)" was Henry's first solo song and it was his only solo song that wasn't wrote by him. 1 4 3 is beeper shorthand for I love you. I is 1 letter, Love is 4 letters and You is 3 letters -- so it's how people used to send messages to people before cellphones and text messaging. I don't think he has talked about this song since interviews during promotional activities for this comeback, because it's a song that was wrote for him and he has moved way beyond that years ago. He has done soooo many other things since then that he is uber famous for, people don't even think of this song when it comes to interview topics. If you want to know more about Henry, check out the interview he did on the RU-vid channel Korean Englishman, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yIujhU0E6ew.html. Its a RU-vid channel hosted by two British men who have a love for Korean culture and they share their love of everything Korean through interviews with famous Korean celebrities, as well as introduce Korean food and culture to international celebrities and regular people as part of their weekly show on their RU-vid channel.

Henry has starred in numerous Korean and Chinese TV dramas and movies over the years, so he is very much an actor. He even broke into the U.S. entertainment industry in 2019 when he starred as one of the main characters in the Hollywood movie "A Dog's Journey" alongside famous American actors, such as Dennis Quaid. He is also one of the top variety show guests in Korea and China. Everyone wants him on their program because they know he will bring them a lot of ratings. He spends most of his career traveling back and forth from Korea and China on almost a weekly bases because he is involved in so many different projects. If you want to see what type of musical and entertainment genius he is you should watch an episode of a show called "The Snowball Project," which was a special project/ variety show that Henry did with Mark from NCT and featured Red Velvet and Sunny from Girls' Generation, in collaboration with SM Entertainment and Mystic Entertainment, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vAyAD2R1Apc.html. On this episodes of the show Henry was challenged to play multiple instruments from around the world which he had never seen or played before. And, as you will see, within minutes Henry was able to pick up the instrument, figure out how to play the notes and play a song on the spot. He can also play any song or tune on almost any instrument after hearing only a few notes. You should also check out some of his live performances from the Korean TV show, Begin Again, which featured singer/songwriter Kpop artists who teamed up to form a group and they spent several weeks busking all over Europe. In Begin Again, not only does the group sing the songs live, but several of the members are also musicians so they perform the music live as well. In Begin Again you will see Suhyun from the Kpop duo AKMU perform with Henry and several other famous Kpop solo musicians and singers as part of a group called The Family Band. This group was so popular that The Family Band actually did 2 seasons of the show. And the best part is they busked on the streets all across Ireland, England, Switzerland, Portugal and Hungary, etc., so the people they performed for don't speak Korean, but they always fall in love with The Family Band's performances. And Suhyun and Henry also participated in a third season in 2020 when they traveled around Korea to perform with some of their Family Band members, as well as other well known Kpop musicians and artist. Check out his performances of "Believer," "Faded," "Youngblood," "Dance Monkey + Attention," etc. You can find all the clips on the BeginAgain RU-vid Channel: ru-vid.com/show-UC8WoHUeN-eLynnLKGkwajYQsearch?query=Henry. But I could go on for days about Henry and I could recommend hundreds of clips and programs that he has been on that would impress you even more. He really is an entertainment star. And, on top of all that, he is also a trained chef and can cook as well as a professional. He starred in the Taiwanese movie Final Recipe, where he played a culinary prodigy. The producer wanted him to look as authentic as possible, so Henry spent 3 months training under a famous chef and learned a lot of amazing cooking techniques. He has participated in numerous cooking competitions and cooking based variety shows -- including Master Chef Korea -- and his skill has impressed even professional cooks. He often cooks on variety shows for the cast and crew to show off his hidden cooking talents.

I think henry is more well known as a entertainer rather than a singer. At the time Henry appeared in a lot in variety tv shows. He does act, he even was casted in the american movie A Dog's Journey. Trap is such a good song tbh.

He did get a lot of hate from SJ fans who were dead set on keeping it to just the 13 members, so they put Henry and Zhoumi in SJ-M to keep those fans satisfied by not putting them in the official line up of SJ. I feel like he does have good songs and after he left SM, he created his own label(i think?) to release his own music, but now that he was competing with the other Kpop companies that are already well known, the popularity would get overshadowed.

He utilizes his violin playing a lot more than you think , to the point where he is always criticized for and accused of destroying classical music's dignity and bringing it down because he uses it in commercial music but I don't believe in such things at all. He just lets all of the people enjoy the sound of his violin and shares his art in a way everyone can understand.

I think Henry is popular still tho last yr, there was a bit od controversy w/ him showing support to china..but u know how swnsitive some ppl can b..but due to his unique music genius side of him & being a variety personality in korea jst lyk othr SJ membrs, he still is popular..but frm what I observed, w/ his music, it didn't get popular qs much as expcted..maybe bcoz his sound changed theu tym..if u analyze d lyrics of Just be me, it's a perfect reflection of how he probably felt along d way in his career..it'a simple but really meaningful, he even said that himself..also, in rhat same interview, he mentioned y it took him 6 yrs bfore releasing anothr album, frm 2014 to 2020.. it's bcoz he really wanted to release what he wants, he mwntioned, he alrdy actually made an album that he was suppose to release but he scrapped eveything coz he realized that he's not comfortable if he did that jat bcoz it'a what ppl expect from him.. tho, he only had 3 mini albums, he released a lot of skngles in btween his music evolved to a much more soft sound sometimes w/ bits of jazzy, pop, fun sounds too..also, he doesn't really showcase his dancing much anymore in his music but that doesn't take.away how great lf a dancer he is, esp in popping..he showcased that well in shows lyk Street dance of china S4 where he's 1 of d mentors (I forgot what they r called), he was w/ Lay & Hangeng.. it ws so fun to see them knteract again together.. there were even musician moments for Lay & Henry.. reminiscing moments of their old songs..u'll enkoy it too.. also presently, he's a cast in Fly to the dance - a variety show showcasing dancers busking in diff states in America..all girls w/ Henry in charge kf s music while esp w/ his violin & also joining them at times in thwir routines.. his solo started kff as what SM wants but eeal fans of henry r hapi that hw eventually discovered his own sound w/out being controlled, much more y, he left d label.. he incorporates d viokin but not alwys (studio wise), he uses piano a lot tho..but his style is he uses his violin in his live ver of his songs..w/c is anothr unique aspect to him..it makes fans look forward a lot to his live prdormances whether of his own song or a cover since he totally makes it his own..arramging it, & plating & simging it live.. & for at most times, he uses his loop equipment to b able to b a 1 man band - playing diff instruments or even using common things to produce sound.. he's active in both Korea & China..he speaks Emglish flurmtly since he's a Canadian citizen but Taiwanese-HongKonger by blood, he also speaks Koream & Mqndatin fluently is known to converse basically w/ othr languages..he's an actor,in fact, he alrdy debuted in Hollywood thru d movie A Dog's Jourmey..but I think he started afte 2013 so pps undrstamd..hihi..he was a baby.. Kyuhyun is 1988, Henry is 1989.. Henry & Taemin r a bir close since they were trainees together & they actually debuted d same yr, 2008 Tawmin actually siad himaelf that he feels bad that ppl dnt recognize Henry's music as much as it deserves but Henry said tho ppl knows him a lot more thru variety shows as a tv personality, he doesn't regret it coz of certakn times where ppl makes him realize how impactful he is to them thru those shows.. obviously, he's not into d top popularity much coz of he did, he would've probably sticked to his initial sound frm his solo debut w/ Trap & Fantastic or stayed w/ SM for d least..he's a perfect definition of the uktimate idol.. Lastly, generally, his known for his emglish covers too.. coz he makes it his own w/ d musical twist & eveything..also, for d past few yea for his cover collabs w/ othr popular artists that he's close w/..like Jessi & Ailee..& in relation to that, he's channel is quite really popular esp when d pandemic started.. I dnt know what else I missed but othes would probably tell u that.. oh I remembr, probably d reason t Irene's credit in 143 is her real name its bcoz it was her pre-debut..u prbably notice, SM feat their artists in their seniors music to present them bfore debut..or maybe jst afte debut.. same goes w/ Taemin & Kyuhyun who debuted solo d nxt yr in 2014, aftr Henry.. hope u undrstamd..haha thank so much! hope to see more! dnt worry his music isn't all that really slow even w/ his recent ones..but definitely, not d dancy types..choreo heavy or something..
