As someone who hadn't read the book or seen the movie I did feel similarly. The emotional stuff didn't really hit me till the end, then when I re watched the series everything hit so much harder.

Ian IS a good person. He was very much in love with Emma and Emma did not love him back and was always longing for Dexter. When he said Emma did not have one picture with him…he had a point. You have to put yourself in his shoes. He’s human so yeah he’s heartbroken, he makes mistakes,…but in the end he’s definitely not a bad person. I actually feel for him

But we also need to consider that he was jealous of Dexter from the get go. So I don’t trust his judgement. Emma wasn’t even cheating on him with Dex, yet he kept making that assumption. Because he’s insecure. And that insecurity is imbedded because of his hatred for Dex since the beginning of his and Em’s relationship (during the date too). You can’t hate somebody that you know is just friends with the person you like. He clearly knew there was something else there between Em and Dex. I don’t have much sympathy for him because he put himself in a position where he was clearly aware Emma was unhappy in their relationship and was bound to prioritize anything over him; cuz he’s a shitty boyfriend. And this all happened in the span of 2 years. How can he possibly fuck up that quickly within 2 years. Not to mention, Emma did have feelings for Ian in the beginning but she mentioned all the bad things he does (not paying bills & just sitting around), which could also be a factor in why she didn’t fall for Ian further. I genuinely think Ian was lovebombing rather than actually in love. He was constantly overcompensating with jokes in the beginning (in a funny awkward way) but later, the jokes seem to become more invasive and we could see Emma would be uncomfortable (e.g. him creeping up on her at the computer). Idk.. I just get really weird vibes from him. Not just because he’s awkward.

basically everything @joemama-kz4sx was sayin. sure ian has some fair points and he may be generally a good person but in his relationship with emma he did not treat her right and had a weird possessiveness over her, especially when it came to dex

His behavior in the aftermath proves that he is not a stable person. Breaking in to her home? Going through her belongings? Getting drunk and physical? No. She was right to dump him. Wrong to lead him on, but right to leave him.

Another enjoyable review, you were right they did take out that lie that was in the book/film I don't know why?? Also you said time heals-sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't + sometimes it half heals. Plenty of people that like seeing their old teachers from primary/secondary school-well certain ones anyway. I'm from UK in England ever been??

I think Episode 14 will be the one to punch you in the gut. It definitely has the strongest payoff emotionally in the series.

Awesome reaction review vlog 💯‼️ I love this series and they added some more information in the series that is not in the film. I googled the book ending and Dexter moving on in the book and in the series is so much more better and it really shows his growth 💯‼️
