This anime is about the prince which wants to be the king. The unique thing about it is, that he is mute and in term of raw strength he is lacking as well, so no one really believes in him. Anime is about him, his friends family and so on. It can be really light hearted, has lot of nice fights and some big dark moments as well. its definitly worth a watch.

agreed; majority of Luke's anime watchers haven't seen Ousama Ranking and choose not to with the artstyle; since it's so different from things they like to watch. The Twitch polls favor more popular shows than underwatched shows.

@@BillyGnav Not even that, they prefer only the most watched anime of the past 5 years, which indicates a newer base. Nothing older, or slightly less popular ever gets voted for. Spice and Wolf? Arguably one of the most famous anime of all time never even gets mentioned. And don't even get me started on Ginga Eiyū Densetsu. Set up a lot of the framework for modern anime, and had a hugely popular remake in Japan, never even mentioned by western audiences, who are, on average, extremely new to the community

@@maksym_loshysh For me, it's the meaning of the anime. The character developments, their backstories, regrets, hopes and dreams; they just seem so... real. Internal conflict within the main character's country (which can only be solved by a good king) and family (which can only be solved by a good pillar). The middle part isn't too interesting since it's more of a training art but it still shows the effort of the main character. Maybe you'll understand what I mean during the final few episodes. Anime are subjective, everyone has their own taste after all.

I absolutely love that second opening, to the point where I'd say it was my number one favourite of 2022. It'd hard to explain but it just flows so well, both the song by Vaundy and the visuals directed by the brilliant Shingo Yamashita. From beginning to end it never loses its momentum.

The 2nd opening slaps even going in blind, but it slaps even harder when you understand the context. If he thinks it's good now, just wait until he's seen some of the show; it adds context.

Naked Hero is one of my favourite openings of all time. Everytime I listen to it I tear up, I don't know if it's because of the anime itself, the aniomation that kinda spoils and is epic by itself or if it's the song that somehow gives me a certain feel.

Ranking of GOATs is definitely worth it. It really feels like an old timey folk tale story, where you’re kinda expected to just accept some maguffins and plot threads, but overall it’s worthy of being one of the best epic tales ever.

ooh! I love Ranking of Kings!! I'm so glad you checked out these openings, and yes, I think you would really like this one. the second OP especially is so deeply touching when you know what the context is for the imagery... and especially the lyrics, which can pertain to many things that come up throughout the show. as for what it's about... the basic synopsis is that this world is sort of a fairytale type of setting, with kings, and knights, and castles. and as the title suggests, the kings throughout the land are all ranked against one another, with the ranking being seen as a reflection of how secure the kingdom is as a whole. our main character, Boji, was born weak. not only is he physically small, he also can't hear or speak, and he communicates primarily via sign language and unintelligible noises. what complicates this, is that he is the oldest son of king Bosse, who is one of the highest ranked kings in the system. of course, there are plenty of people who find this situation concerning... not only because there are others who want to lay claim to the throne for their own reasons, but also because there are many who, even with good intentions, simply doubt Boji's ability to be a good king on a practical level. Boji still wants to become king though, and the story is largely about his struggle to do this, in spite of all the machinations that are going on behind the scenes. there are dark things brewing in the background that Boji doesn't even understand yet, and even if he was strong enough to claim the throne straightforwardly... it still might not be that simple. joining him on his quest is Kage, the little blobby shadow creature that features heavily in the OP. Kage starts off as sort of an abrasive character, but just from watching Boji struggle, he starts to relate to him and believe in him very quickly. basically, he becomes Boji's best friend from then on out. by the end of episode 2, you're shown the reason why... and that's also when you become aware of what this show is capable of, in terms of hard hitting emotional beats. believe me when I say that, in that category, this show does a _lot._ (also, damn, between this, Vinland Saga mentions, and the Golden Kamuy OPs reaction, you're hitting a lot of my favorite stuff lately!😁I'm still hoping you'll check out Dorohedoro one of these days!)

Second this It'll never win polls as anime only properly exploded in the west in the past 5 - 10 years, so the vast majority are still only sticking to the most popular anime that are released each season. But I'll stand by this being something you should watch. Also gonna push my personal favourites of LOTGH, and Spice and Wolf

for me, the 2nd opening becomes so much better after watching key moments in the anime, every time those key moments happen i go back into the opening saying "OH THIS IS THE PART OF THE STORY ITS TELLING ME ABOUT" and it makes the op in my personal opinion so much more emotional, even after years of not listening to this song it actually brings me to tears remembering those key plot points and the story during those points. its an amazing anime that deserved so much more than what it got when it first came out. 10/10 anime highly recommend

Ranking of Kings is one of those series where you look at the cover and think "It's clearly made for children". Then you watch 3 episodes and you think, this is the first one clearly not made for children. It's hard to describe, but Ranking of Kings manages to bring this "childlike wonder" we had as a child when parents read bedtime stories to us but bringing it to a more mature level.

None of it was satisfying to watch if you have any standard

Ranking of Kings fall under that hidden gems of its season like ODDTAXI and 3-Gatsu no Lion (March Comes In Like A Lion). Childish and whimsical the style might be. It has a story that grips you quite easily into the premise. The whole "painting come alive" vibe to the animation also gave it a different sense of viewing in comparison to other animes.

The is the story of a prince bojji and his friend Kage. Bojji is determined to become the number one ranked king despite being deaf and mute. This anime has been my favorite over the last few years, and the plot keeps you wanting more. I never get tired of watching it and it will always be one of the most memorable animes to me.

Ousama Ranking is a truly amazing anime, impossible not to love it no matter how much it breaks your heart in many ways. As a joke, when it was on air, I would tell my friends that this anime was my therapy and self-care session. The first opening is by King Gnu who is also part of the OST of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, while the second is by Vaundy that you surely recognized because he sings the 1st ending of Chainsaw Man (Chainsaw Blood). I would like you to react soon to the OP and EDs of Houseki No Kuni (Land of the Lustrous).

Made in Abyss's soundtrack is really special. Definitely a lot of great choices for which tracks to check out. _Hanezeve Caradhina_ is probably the most iconic, but I'd also suggest Old Stories, The Rumble of Scientific Triumph, reBirth (ft. Takeshi Saito), Transcendance and Hanezeve, Gravity ft. Arnór Dan, Prushka Sequence, VOH (ft. Takeshi Saito), Eyes of Irumyuui, Juroimoh Mutation... I can keep going. I listen to the entire 5 hours of OST on a pretty regular basis. Out of the three OST albums, the newest one is my favorite.

The three anime's you named, Mushoku Tensei, Made in Abyss and Ousama Ranking aren't some of the most popular anime's but that is mostly because people still judge a book by their cover but the subject matter off all three are all very though and varied and thus hard to recommend. But all three shows are truly incredible and have some die hard fans, myself included.

Ranking of kings is probably one of the most underrated show ever. I just can't get anyone to start it but Ince they do 9 times out of 10, they end up loving it. So ittl be one of the shows I highly recommend that you check out coz it's story and its characters are just amazing.

Ranking of Kings is a must watch anime for anyone. It does have this air of being an anime for kids, but oh boy, that is only if you judge the surface of it. The art style reminds me of the type used by Ozamu Tezuka, for his mangas and subsequent anime adaptations. I also like how the openings don't spoil really anything if you haven't watched the anime, but if you have, you notice that, specially the second opening, does really tell you a sort of story or feelings of some of the characters. If you liked Attack on Titan and Game of Thrones, you are going to like this one, is more like a mix between Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings with heavy fantasy elements.

This anime was a fvckin shock for me. I saw cover and my first thought was, anime moomins. But this anime has a ridiculously good story, incredibly smooth and beautiful animation. Each character has some depth. For me, this is one of the best anime of the decade. If you ever go into that anime it will shock you more than when Eren was eaten.

Luke, Ranking of Kings is my Personal number 1 anime of 2022. Its mature, dark and the story/ characters are really interesting. It is the first manga of the creator and he quit his Job to be a Mangaka at old age. His family didnt like his decision and were kinda embarressed. Glad he did it!

Yeah. I'm happy that such a long recommended anime got its reaction to the openings. I look forward to the reactions to the endings which are also great and performed by the brilliant artists Yama and Milet. Luke the anime itself is one of the best anime ever, despite its appearance which many people will think is childish but this we have here without spoilers a combination of Grimm's Fairy Tales with elements from Game of Thrones and from AoT and on top of that there is an element from Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice). This anime itself was created by Wit Studio who previously created the first 3 seasons of AoT and that's also a big recommendation. For me, this was the biggest surprise of previous year. And the second opening (along with the 1st ending) is among my favorite songs and on top of that they can give me shivers. My 10 recommendations for reaction to anime openings and endings: - Ranking of Kings 2 endings - Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin (ENG title: Rainbow) 1 opening & 1 ending - Barakamon 1 opening & 1 ending - Bakuman 4 openings & 6 endings - Yakusoku no Neverland (ENG title: The Promised Neverland) 2 openings & 3 endings - D.Gray Man 9 endings - Golden Kamuy 4 endings - Ajin (ENG title: Ajin: Demi-Human) 3 openings & 2 endings - Beelzebub 5 openings & 6 endings - Shingeki no Bahamut (ENG title: Rage of Bahamut) 3 openings & 4 endings (1st season subtitled "Genesis" has 1 opening & 2 endings, 2nd season "Virgin Soul" has 2 openings & 2 endings)

One thing I can tell you. This anime is very underrated and it's unlikely that it will win any of your votes concerning the next anime you have to watch. But oh boy, if you actually watch it, it's straight up a masterpiece, I don't think you'll watch many anime that can come close to this level of storytelling, especially when it comes to the characters, all of the characters are really amazing. If you ever decide to watch an anime that's not decided by the votes, Ranking of Kings would be a really great choice, you'll be in for a world of greatness The anime is about a boy(named Bojji) who wants to be king, yet is deaf and can't speak. But his greatest obstacle is that he doesn't have enough strength to hold a sword, and to be the greatest king in that world, you've got to be strong in fights. However, he's got an incredible willpower and refuses to give up, and that's how his amazing adventures start

One of the best animes i watched recently, which is saying a lot considering the animes we've been having recently, can't wait for the next season now in april, april bringing a lot of great animes this season =3

The creature with Boujji is a shadow. He is Kage. The story is about a deaf, mute, and weakened prince overcoming his adversities and is determined to become the top ranked king. The second opening is gonna hit much harder after you've watched cour 1. If you like that art style, I definitely recommend checking out some Studio Ghibli films. Especially Castle In The Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and The Cat Returns. Once Studio Ghibli retired, the animators opened up Studio Ponoc and made Mary And The Witch's Flower.

Ahhh definitely a must watch. Some key terms I think that describes this anime is heartfelt, wholesome, and I believe I once heard someone calling it a ‘healing’ anime. I keep on getting shivers every time I listen to the 2nd opening. The meaning behind the visuals and the lyrics that you only fully get after you watch the story really touched me. I strongly recommend listening to Ousama Ranking’s endings as well. yama sang the first ending and milet the second

I highly recommend this anime, I got to see it when I saw the first trailers of it and I loved the art style but then stayed for the story and characters. Truly a hidden gem that people didn’t talked much about.

I've watched a LOT of anime throughout the years, and I gotta say this one is my all time favorite. It is SO unique in the anime industry in terms of art AND storytelling. The way they write it in a way that makes you care about every single character is incredible. Highly recommend you watch this, even if it's in your own private time!

Ranking of Kings is an absolutely beautiful & amazing anime. The art-style/animation is so unique, like a fantasy story book come to life with great music. There are so many great characters but one thing this show does splendidly other than telling a gripping narrative is the plot twists every few episodes which completely flips ones perspective upside down. 8.5/10 great show.

This anime wrecked me. It’s so incredibly beautiful. The art is top tier, some of the best ever (like Ghibli level, Oscar nomination). It’s also just some of the tightest writing I’ve seen in a show. No crumbs left. As tight of writing, if not tighter, than Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood. The scaling is incredible, the pacing brilliant, and the themes beautifully expressed through character and plot. Just a fucking banger of an anime.

Fun fact, the animation studio is Wit Studio, same people that did season 1-3 of Attack on Titan. This anime is a hidden gem and the animation quality is top tier.
