Ooh! Rolling Quartz reaction! Cool! They're are branded as k-rock. The always smiling redhead is Iree, my fav in the band. Fun fact, Drummer and Bassist are Insomnias.. Bassist Arem have even done a number of Dreamcatcher unboxing videos. Vocalist Jayoung and Drummer YeongEun have covered some Standard-bearer songs too. They also xovered DC's Goodnight. A homage to DC too. The MV is also a collab with DC's production team and set. Go check it out. There's even an explanation in the description of that mv. The name Diadem and logo chosen were chosen through a contest with the fandom participation..
Hey Stoof, this MV is an example of the "shared world" of Rolling Quartz and Dreamcatcher locations. (You'll just have to park this info away for the future.) The outdoor setting here in front of the Concert Hall (Gyeonggi English Village, Paju Camp) is the same place Dreamcatcher shot Gahyun's [formerly spelled Gahyeon] solo "Playground". The warehouse-like set of RQ's version of DC's "Good Night" is the same as DC's "'Odd Eye' Dance video (Dystopia version)". The stained-glass/clockworks/throne set of DC's JiU & Yoohyeon's cover of Red Velvet's Irene & Seulgi's "Monster" is also RQ's singer Jayoung's throne room, seen in their John Wick vampire thriller MV "Holler". [Confused yet?] Lastly, DC had a photoshoot at the iconic "Paradise Diner" set where RQ filmed their "Nazababara" MV. (But frankly, EVERYBODY has shot something there!) 😄

(Rose Quartz + Rolling Girlz) Nearly four years ago (early Sept 2020) they ran a contest to suggest & select a fandom name. The overwhelming winner was, of course... Qrystalz! 😂 But the band overruled the fans and chose 2nd place Diadem! 🎉 To be fair, it was stated in the initial contest rules that the band would have final say, and choose from the top 3 or 4. In part, they were concerned that "old men" like me might feel Qrystalz was too feminine to call ourselves. 😮 After choosing Diadem, RQ wrote, "A diadem is a beautiful crown made of various precious stones and metal. We chose the name because we feel that it best represents our diverse fans and community. A diadem is more than just gems: it consists of many different pieces coming together to form a complete crown. Likewise, Rolling Quartz alone is not enough without you - our fans - supporting us and helping us shine. And just like a crown, you all are very precious to us. We hope you will be part of our Diadem now and for a long time to come. Thank you!" 🥰 . Rolling Quartz is a bunch of girls that happened to be InSomnia & Dreamcatcher is their role model. The title track of their first Mini Album is Dreamcatcher's 'Good Night' cover. Even their Good Night MV have a lot of Dreamcatcher MV Easter Eggs & the director also came from the same team that produce previous Dreamcatcher MV back in Nightmare Eras.
There's some misinformation in what you said. RQ 💎 are actually two Korean rock bands that pooled their talents to become one. I believe only 2 of RQs 💎 members are big DC fans - drummer Yeongeun & bassist Arem. RQs 💎 First Mini Album is called 'Fighting' and features 6 tracks: 4 original songs and 2 covers - one cover being of DCs 'Good Night'.

Rolling Quartz covered Dreamcatcher's song 'Good Night' and they did an AWESOME job if it! The Drummer of RQ taught DC member Han Dong to play drums. MANY InSomnia want to see (and hear) collabs between the two groups. :)
Correct...I talked to Yeong Eun about that a little bit when I had the chance meeting them two times within 3 days in January/February this year. There is a comment under the RU-vid video for the 'Good Night' cover which has some details. The good thing is...if you are able to meet them when the venues are still pretty small "It's like a big happy family meeting". They are all so nice including the staff. By the way half of the fans waiting in line where also DC fans 😁+ other groups. I saw some a few days later again at the Everglow concert and 3 weeks later at the Dreacatcher concert. The start of the year was pretty wild with 4 concerts in 3,5 weeks...with the first 3 concerts in 6 days. A little over a month ago I ran again into two guys from the Netherlands at the Billlie convert (small world). 😅 Iree is always smiling...you get the impression she want's to hug everyone. She's such a sunshine... impressive even if you know that already! But beware she can kick you *** too (>>martial arts training). So be nice. 😁 I already have the concert tickets for January 2025...it's getting more expensive. I also hope we see an on stage collab at some point. It's a perfect match. If the come up with something like the BE:FIRST + ATEEZ collab ....oh my.. 😂
@@j.w.u.5728 OMG, I am so jealous that you have been to so many concerts! I WISH I could attend so many, there are so many groups I would love to see live! It's awesome that you got to meet so many performers. Regardless of them being martial Artists or not, I would always try to keep from getting on anybody's bad side. No need to give performers any problems or raise their stress levels for no reason.
Thanks for the reaction. I love this band, following them since they started posting MVs on RU-vid during the pandemic. I agree with others suggesting you to check out live performances, these girls are pure fire on stage. I suggest first official live videos, purely for better sound quality, if you need them live raw, unprocessed, ‘self bootlegs’ are still pretty good.

I actually attended their concert in June and they were AMAZING!!!! They're 5 very talented woman and it was a dream to see them irl and even talk to them for a few words🙏 Everybody stan Roliing Quartz!!!!🤟🎸
They don't all sing. Jayoung is the frontwoman, most of the others do backup vocals, while I believe Arem (the bassist) said she was tone-deaf. Iree (you pronounced it correctly), the redheaded guitarist, is my favourite too. She is physically incapable of not smiling. You hear them doing some dark metal stuff, everyone else dead serious, Arem borderline murderous, then cut to Iree being literal sunshine. :D

Oh, man, this just popped up for me; wish I'd seen it earlier, but here I am! 3:15 I do see Sunmi, but Hyunjung has always reminded me a lot of Hwasa as well... while funnily enough, your obvious insta-bias Iree often gives me hints of Wheein... 😜 4:25 Yeah, Iree has to _try_ not to smile. 🌞 4:40 Indeed, Jayoung is their lead vocalist (in rock band terms, not k-pop terms 😜); she does _almost_ all of the singing, as well being their primary songwriter (she _usually_ writes the core of song and the lyrics before handing it off to the other members to figure out their own instrumental parts), but Hyunjung and Iree also often provide backing vocals, especially live. And yes, they're very much a traditional rock band. While they do move in some K-pop circles (they're in the music industry in Seoul; it's kind of unavoidable) and use a few of the marketing techniques, they basically formed themselves; Jayoung and Yeong Eun were friends since high school, decided to form a band, and put out feelers to eventually recruit Hyunjung and form Rose Quartz; later on they were also put in touch with Arem and Iree, who were part of Rolling Girlz. They joined forces just over 5 years ago now, and merged their names into Rolling Quartz. 4:50 They are _stupidly_ beautiful, yes, and I can confirm they're very much _not_ AI (seen them live three times, met them twice). 😍 They're also a _ton_ of fun and absolute sweethearts (their staff are really nice, too)..! 6:25 Basically _all_ of their songs find a place for twin guitar solos, where Iree and Hyunjung each get a chance to show off a bit. 🥰 7:30 Yeah, Yeong Eun has a tendency to do that... 😳 That woman owns me, and she _knows_ it. 🫠😂 She makes it look like she doesn't even have to _think_ about what she's doing, but she practices a _lot._ 8:20 Their hair colours are pretty consistent. While the tones may change, Yeong Eun, Iree and Arem especially haven't changed that much for years (Yeong Eun has had one shade or another of purple for over four years, and Iree's red has lasted for possibly even _longer;_ they must have follicles of steel! Meanwhile, Arem has mostly stayed dark; she used to have green tips years ago, but she's had the red streaks for quite a while now). Hyunjung used to have _fully_ blue hair, but currently favours the blonde/blue mix. Jayoung's probably rotated most, with a short period of orange hair, and one where she had blonde and dark streaks, but she's definitely been blonde more often than not over the last 4-5 years. Also, helpfully, they also tend to keep those same base positions whenever they perform, with Hyunjung, Arem, Jayoung and Iree running left to right (and obviously Yeong Eun at the back). While I see a couple of people mentioning Yeong Eun serving as Handong's drum tutor for a while, what I _don't_ see mentioned is that Jayoung is actually a professional vocal coach as well as a singer. In particular, I know that Kim Suhye, who was the main vocal of LimeLight and is now with the just-debuted MADEIN, was her student (checkout LimeLight's track "Eye to Eye" for an _excellent_ showcase of _her_ vocals)... 10:00 Essentially, where Rolling Quartz are the gems, Diadem are the crown in which they're mounted; each beautiful alone, but so much moreso together. What next? Well, as a Dreamcatcher and Maneskin fan, the obvious choices would be Good Night and Zitti e Buoni... though it looks like _one_ of those, you may not have heard the original yet? So for Zitti e Buoni, (which I can tell you _definitely_ know), there are actually two main videos, a HOT version and a COOL version. The hot one has the most views and comes up first on searches, personally I prefer the cool one... but they're actually very similar; both videos are cut from the same shoot. When I asked in the comments of the COOL version, they basically confirmed my suspicion that they just had a lot of footage that was too good to leave on the cutting room floor, so they made two videos... 😜There are also a couple of "self-bootlegs" that they recorded at live concerts.
Welcome to the Diadem. It is extremely easy to tell the members apart not only because of the instruments but, yes, they keep their hair colo(u)rs roughly the same only changing accents and ombres - you'll have their names in no time, if you're interested. You are clearly an Iree bias, and she is, indeed, that sunny in person. But for the sake of your own health you might push off covering their version of Helena where she does not smile and, instead, melts the camera. Jayoung is, indeed, the front woman and primary vocalist. She comes from more of an R&B background, and has her own RU-vid channel "자영JAYOUNG" where she has a stunning cover of Sia's Chandalier from when she was back in music school. Arem on bass looks like the tough, cool chick, but is chill and cute off-stage. She also has her own RU-vid channel - it's probably best to get there via her Instagram account arem_k since her channel name "RUMI" will direct you to infinite videos of about Sufi poet instead. She vlogs quite frequently with English subs, and there you can get to know her, her pet snails and her sister's cat, Nacho. If you are close enough to see them in Australia, definitely go to their show - at this point their ticket prices are still like a 5th the price of those for Dreamcatcher and probably a 10th of those TWICE and other major kpop groups and they will generally be in fun, smaller venues where you can enjoy them comparatively up close.
Yay, RQ! ♥ Sunmi is my favourite Soloist and I can kind of see it. If you want to check out more Rock, I highly recommend Band-Maid, an all female japanese rock band and currently my favourite music act! They were my gateway into Dreamcatcher, which in turn led to me listening to k-pop! I'd start with either "Freedom (Official Live Video)" or "Domination (Official Live Video)", but they have a no-skip discography, so any song is fantastic! ♥
