He has sun glasses on because he is blind. Not sure of a gentler way of saying that. He is INCREDIBLE !! He is the original singer of this song.

Why do you need gentleness to say he’s blind ? I bet he would want your gentleness I bet he’d want to be treated like everyone else Why is this society so afraid of words and truth and so damn being afraid hurting someone’s feelings ? Didn’t your mothers ever teach you “ sticks and stones “ ? We are such pussies any more !

The most overlooked country artist from the 70's - 80's was Ronnie Milsap. Milsap was born blind. He was among the most influential and popular country music performers of the 1970s and 1980s. At age five, he began attending the Governor Moorhead School for the Blind. There, he discovered a profound love of music. Milsap was ncouraged by singer and pianist Ray Charles. He discovered Merle Haggard. He performed Hag’s “Today I Started Loving You Again” at the Los Angeles nightclub Whiskey A-Go-Go. Charley Pride was in attendance and encouraged Milsap to move to Nashville, which he did in 1972. From 1976 through 1978, Milsap was the dominant male performer on the country music charts. He scored seven back-to-back No. 1 singles, including the megahit “It Was Almost Like a Song.” His biggest successes came in the 1980s, however, including his highest crossover success, “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me” (1981). Ronnie Milsap would achieve 16 additional country No. 1s before the ‘80s had ended. Today, he is credited with six GRAMMY awards and eight CMAs, including four turns as Male Vocalist of the Year. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014. Here's a few additional songs to react too: 'No Gettin' Over Me'; 'Lost in the Fifties Tonight'; "Any Day Now'; 'Daydreams About Night Things' etc. I enjoy your reactions and your voice. Keep on!

Ronnie Milsap doesn't get enough credit for being one of the greatest in country music. He had huge crossover appeal, amazing pianist and vocalist. I was happy that the CMA did put together its Country Forever Now and Then mashup (worth the reaction) with country stars of present and past that Ronnie Milsap was included, a well deserved recognition of his place within the musical genre. Another blind pianist who also doesn't get enough recognition for his contributions to country music is Ray Charles who in the early 1960s was told he was crazy when he wanted to release a country album and knocked it spectacularly out of the park with recordings of Georgia on My Mind and I Can't Stop Loving You among the hits. Thankfully, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame as has Ronnie Milsap.

Funny that you should mention Ray Charles, as he may have been the one to have pointed Ronnie Milsap to a music career. When Ronnie was in college studying to become a lawyer, he went to see in concert one of his musical idols…Ray Charles. After the show, Ronnie Milsap had a chance to met him backstage. During their conversation, Ronnie told Ray that, despite being in college and spending 12 years of life being trained in classical music, he really wanted to pursue a music career. Ray Charles had asked Ronnie Milsap to play something on his piano in his dressing room. Three songs later, Ray told Ronnie "Well, you can be a lawyer, son, if you want to, but there's a lot of music in your heart. If I were you, I would follow what my heart tells me to do." Ronnie never forget Ray’s advice and would later on pay tribute many times to Ray Charles both onstage and saluting his music with other artists.

Ronnie grew up in an orphanage as he was blind. If I remember correctly he had some sight in one eye but he had a mean teacher at the orphanage and he picked on Ronnie and he hit Ronnie so hard in his one eye that had some sight that he lost the sight in that eye too so then he was totally blind. He taught himself to play the piano in the orphanage and started his own band. Most people today don’t know what true hardship is and through it all Ronnie has been positive, happy and when all odds were against him he worked hard, didn’t give up and succeeded. He has a great story. He and his wife were married for a long time and when she passed it was really hard on him. He’s a great pianist and of course a fabulous singer and he always had the best hair too🥰 He has lots of great songs. My fave is There’s No Getting Over Me, Nobody Likes Sad Songs, Pure Love, Back In The Fifties Tonight, the list goes on and on. ❤ Back to this song it has double meaning. A stranger in my house that I can’t see. Obviously he’s meaning his wife is having an affair or about to have an affair but the fact that he’s blind in real life I think also gives this song a double meaning. He’s playing the piano and he’s saying he feels the presence of another man someone that he can’t see and you see a man going up the stairs behind him. At least I think it has double meaning.

Ronnie is a fantastic singer and piano player with the best of them. The story about Ronnie is that he was born blind, and his mother rejected him, so he was put up for adoption, later when he became famous, she wanted to see him, and he rejected her, how true the story is I don't know but it has been around for many years. You're doing a fantastic job and will be in the hundreds of thousand soon, IMHO PS: still waiting for reacting to Country Charley Pride and you will be very surprised, as he changed Country Music for the better.

I'd love to see a reaction to Charlie Rich "Behind Closed Doors". Another great country song with a piano.

Again: A great reaction-video! :) "Stranger in my house" was the first Ronnie-Milsap-Song I listened to, in the early 90s. :)

You would have to have watched this in 1983 when it came out...I was 6. This would seem dated by today's standards...but this song won him Song of the Year for 1983, even though it only went to #3.

Ronnie's song came.out in 1983. Ronnie had it first. Written by Mike Reid.

"There's somebody here that I cannot see." I looked it up. Someone else wrote the song. I was going to say, it would be weird if Ronnie Milsap wrote those words, since he was blind.
