French team is one of the clear favorites, plays at home for this world cup and the game against south africa will be a huge battle! France was ranked #1 ww in 2022 . Today it’s Ireland. Antoine Dupont is considered the best scrum half ww and was the best player ww in 2022. He was injured against Namibia during this world cup: fractured jaw, had a facial surgery and he will be back against SA. He plays for the club of Toulouse, the town I come from 😀, like half of the french team: this is the record winning club team for both the France Rugby League ("Top 14", top league of the world) with 22 title and the European cup with 5 titles.
There are many rules in Rugby that dictate when and how you are authorized to catch the ball. It depends if you the ball owner is alone or if there is at least one teammate joining him. Also if you are the one who tackled the player with the ball, you cannot directly seize the ball, you need to free the player, stand up, move away a bit then only you can contest the ball. Plus many other rules 😀
4:26s: U can only pick up the ball if u r "onside" Onside means u are BEHIND the ball... in otherwords, your back is facing your goal, & u are facing the opponents goal. If u are caught trying to get the ball from "a ruck" coming back while facing your own goal, u will be penalize for coming from an "offside" position.
4:23 when a player has been tackled both teams will form a organized dog pile which is called a "ruck" and in a ruck you push your opponents to gain possession of the ball and the person tackled tries to feed the ball back to his teammate. If the tackled person has an opportunity to continue running after he's been tackled he must release his his possession of the ball stand up and pick the ball up again but in doing so you give opportunity for opponents to gain possession of the ball
4:55 sometimes you don't go after the ball in the ruck because you can be penilized by the ref so they will not contest the ruck and will instead line up to defend the next attack
The top team in the world right now is either France or Ireland for sure, All Blacks and Springboks have fallen a little behind this time around but there's still a chance for them.
It's good to see Americans like yourself enjoying rugby 😊 Especially with USA set to host the 2031 Rugby World Cup 😁 Hopefully your Eagles qualify for that one!
That elbow early on.. might have been the one that earled a YC and cost them the game at the previous WC - dirty play / brain snap with a TV cameras is stoopid.
