Yeah, Craig Morgan has a wonderful voice & he does evoke emotions. He lost his son & moved away from music for a while before writing The Father, My Son, and The Holy Ghost. You reacted to that. Craig Morgan also served 17yrs in the Army, taking part in special operations, doing missions or a mission with the CIA, and fighting in Desert Shield & Desert Storm. So, he's got a lot to draw on & his voice conveys it.

Craig Morgan is one of the most wonderful humans on this planet and in country music! He is a veteran! Let me just say he is one of my favorites that I've seen in concert and was Abso-freaking-lutely extraordinary!! Everyone talks about Garth Brooke's in concert but I beg to differ! If you want a really fun song to listen to by Craig Morgan, listen to "Redneck Yacht Club"!!

When my niece was really little she always wanted to spend Sundays with us after she was visiting one time & asked if we were gonna work on something & my mom told her, “It’s Sunday. We don’t work on Sundays.” She loved spending those lazy afternoons with us. We’d take a nap, watch a movie, put a puzzle together, but nothing that constituted work. We still do. Before she had children, me, my mom, her mom & other grandma, as well as her mother in law would have Sunday afternoon “hen parties” where we just hung out together & played games or crafted together. Now that she has 2 littles, I miss them. We may need to schedule another one. 😊

This is totally how I grew up. My daddy was the pastor, who'd shake everyone's hands on their way out ❤ And most Sunday afternoons we'd be at grandma's house for fried chicken and all the trimmings. Unfortunately, he died in a car accident when I was only 11. Thanks for this memory and the reaction.

Our pastor used to do the same thing at the end of the service - stand by the back door and shake our hands. This song reminds me so much of the church I grew up in. I love the church I go to now, but things sure have changed from when I was a kid. My favorite parts of the song - "Sweet Miss Betty loves to sing off key in the pew behind me." and ".35 off a ground, baby cut that coupon out!"

You should watch the official video as it brings out the song more. He is a Christian so he may have relied on his own experiences for this song. I like this song as it is so down to earth. I like the baptism part also, I and some others were baptized the old fashion way in a river .

I have to say, I grew up in a church and lost my faith in my 20s, but that brotherhood and fellowship I felt in church is the only thing I miss about when I was religious. I haven’t found a group feeling like that yet. I’ve even gone to church as a non believer just to recapture it lol. It wasn’t the same without faith. Oh well, we grow up and leave things behind

One of my favorite weekend songs. It still gets a lot of play on the radio, and it's still perfect to get you out of thinking about workworkwork. I was the kid at church who ran around and got my good clothes dirty every week. Good country music paints a very specific picture, and this one does that very well. Be careful with Craig Morgan, though. Some of his songs will rip your heart out.
