Yes! They are Violet’s twins. Jenny takes after Violet (silent) and Screech takes after his father (violent). Ren read an article about a knife attack on a woman and created a masterpiece.

Dude, you are going to freak out over 'Money Game 1, 2 and 3'. Ren has 3 songs arguably masterpieces of art. 'Hi Ren', 'Tales...' and 'Money Game 3'. Watch the latter in order since there is imagery, lyrics and song in common. But Ren has so much more. His recent drops 'Back on 74' and 'Seven Sins' are amazing as hell.

So Jenny and James (Screech's name) are common names for orphans. Presumedly they were separated by the foster system. Something to note as well, considering the inspiration for the song Jenny is likely a prostitute. Notice how Screech calls her a lady implying he couldn't tell she was his age. Almost like she was done up to appear more adult then she is. And given that she "walked these streets a thousand times" she probably had been a sex worker since she was eleven years old. (which is just horrible, the song doesn't get into if she's been trafficked or if she has to do this to survive but she certainly feels trapped by her situation, like she doesn't have a choice but to do this) Another tiny detail. Patrick (Screech's friend he tried to get help from first) was likely sleeping with Screech's girl. Hence him not being home and her being "busy". It's a story about how intergenerational violence killed these kids even though they didn't know their attachment to it. They were alternated and alone their whole lives but they left the world the same way they entered, together.

Phenomenal storyteller. Phenomenal human being. Phenomenal artist. Recommend: Seven Sins, Chalk Outlines (Live), Illest of Our Time, Back on 74 retake. And the Money Game series. Violet was the mom of Jenny and Screech (twins) their mom died and dad would be in prison so they grew up never knowing one another and so screech killed his own twin sister and didn't even know it.

Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. Anyway great reaction! You got it right. Now you get to wait in eager anticipation with the rest of us, cause Ren has said that he and his cinematographer Sam have plans to film a pilot to pitch to Netflix when Ren has finished treatments in Canada and moves back to the UK. All we know is that it will be in the same raw style as this trilogy, but that is enough for me to say that if Netflix doesn’t give Ren his own show, they are fools 😂

@HightopReacts Yes that is correct Sreech and Jenny were violets kids, obviously put in a foster home and separated after Violet died, so Screech never knew his sister, Jenny, so Screech murdered his sister without even knowing who she really was, hope it helps!

Yes! He said in bed "Rewind the time for Violet's Tale" and he did his guitar as he rewinds time. The 4th song you may be thinking is the solo on the bed. Because when he did this trilogy as a small production busking in Brighton, he introduced a song called "In London City" and it had a bit more than the song on the bed, but still did the rewinding time with his guitar.

Reactions to Jenny, Screech and Violet never get old. I’ve been watching them since Ren released them all in one and I still love it and reactions to it are even better. The moment it all sinks in, it’s like “waitttt whaaaaat?!?” I knew how to look for clues so I was able to figure it out by the end BUT I love than people who don’t know that Ren drops Easter eggs along the way makes for my favorite reactions! It’s always my favorite thing to watch the shock moment at the end lol. ❤ the reaction! I’ll keep watching for more ☺️.

It’s a nylon string guitar/classical guitar. Most acoustics we hear today, and he uses one too, have steel strings. Much different sound. Think of Willie Nelson if you’ve ever heard him play his guitar Trigger with the giant hole (the extra hole not supposed to be there 😂) and the way it sounds different, it’s also nylon string. Very cool sounding guitars. And yeah, they’re twins that grew up in the system, separated. But the cycle of violence still found a way in this story. Crazy storytelling.

Ren got the idea for Jenny tale from a news paper he read about a 14 year old boy that kill a young streetwalker with a knife

Ren is a tad #Special tho, is he not?! "The Tales" are a stroke of his #BardCore genius. :) Last year's predominantly HipHop album is well worth a purchase.... but I'm really looking forward to this year's rock/reggae/ska/God-knows-what-else album tbh! ;) His heavy, *real* ,work like this can weigh heavily on the heart, so despite it being super commendable, I tend rather to most regularly go back to moments where he's obviously having *fun* with his music. So the busking vids, whether with Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, or his old band The Big Push, are great. All the better when you remember half way thru some of them that you're watching a snapshot in time of zero autotune, zero production, in-the-moment, performance on the street. There really are some great moments in the busking stuff.

Not all of Ren's stuff is heavy. He recently did a Fred Again mashup which is excellent. Or lighter still is Uninvited which was on his album Sick boi. Enjoy.

Chalk Outlines should be next (IMO). And Su!clde. If you watch that one, read the comment Ren wrote about how the song came about first for the context. It's not the pinned comment at the top (that's the lyrics) but is currently the 3rd comment and starts out "today I want to write something beautiful.. " Also, if I can make a small suggestion, when you pause a video, go back a few seconds so you don't miss anything and so we can get back into the flow of the music a little easier. 😊

Loved this reaction. You should listen to The Big Push and hear Ren in their busking sessions. They all talented. Wade in the water is one of my favorites. Songs with Chinchilla and Sam Tompkins are fantastic. Listen to Ren’s song called Crutch. He thought he was going to die 😢. A year later he got the stem cell transplant which gave him hope and he made beautiful music. His older music are my favorites. Fred Again is a must too ❤. So many favorites lol

He literally is so good with lyrics that you feel like you’re walking down the street with him I mean it’s literally crazy along with his delivery and cadence not to mention his guitar playing which is top-notch. I think you might be in trouble on this one. I think Violet might get you, but we’ll see. His part is that he does it in one shot like one take. He does it as many times he hast to get it right but all the way through without any cuts or edits now that’s the next level genius shit. Yep, I was right you were a mess. Yes, my the mother screech killed his twin sister history repeats itself violet was sexually abused and subjected domestic violence, and she died giving birth so basically the kids became orphans, didn’t know each other. Jenny was basically a streetwalker and screech was super violent kid high on drugs accidentally killed his sister, killed her on purpose, but didn’t know it was his sister.

You are not wrong. This wasn’t written as a trilogy. Jenny’s tale came first after a story in the news about a 14 y.o. who killed a prostitute . Screech’s tale came about a year after that and Violet’s tale about 2 years later.

Where it gets really deep is when you realise that Jenny was a prostitute at the age of 14 and that’s why she had walked those streets 1000 times before. And at the end of her tale she finally finds a place to sleep. She was silent just like her mother. After being separated from her brother she was put into care where she continued the cycle her mother went through. Whilst Screech took on all of the violent characteristics of his father. Like others have suggested I think you need to balance this journey with some of his more uplifting songs. Personally I find these darker stories quite disturbing which is a definite credit to Ren for his absolute genius writing.
