This man is one of the most down to earth humble men I’ve ever met. He spent Thanksgiving Day 2002 overseas with us on a USO tour. Very giving and appreciative of our military and a true ambassador. Love this guy!!

That’s filmed in his hometown of Sarepta, LA many years ago where he went to school. I believe his mother is still the Mayor of Sarepta. I grew up 8 miles north of his hometown. He’s always been a local hero.

My girls are 15 years apart. I tell the youngest all the time, she was a nice surprise. Now at 25, she got her first nice car and she wants to run here and there all over the world in a week. I love country music from the 90's so I am familiar with Trace and this song. I feel the need to now send this to my daughter so she can reflect back on it when she is my age... Time goes by so fast. I was young not too long ago. Now I'm in my 60's. We are in such a hurry to live our lives we take the journey for granted and one day we realize the best destination is HEAVEN.❤

@@willlong8942 I’ve heard the quote before, attributed to someone else. I thought it was CS Lewis but I looked it up to double-check. Good thing I did. Lewis did say something very similar though, which may be why I thought of him. I’ve never heard of Allen Saunders but I think others have quoted him and then been credited with the saying. It’s a good perspective ton life.

AS a grandmother of 4, I do connect with this song. Seems that our boys grew up way too fast, time went too fast, and it seems that time goes faster as you get older. My mother did say that every 5 years, time goes faster, and it's true. Enjoy your kids and family now because, yes, they will grow up faster than you think.

Recently and very unexpectedly lost my beloved sister my best friend my confidant and yes time is a very most precious thing that is to not be taken for granted let those you love know it fix the things that are fixable because in the grand scheme of things most things are. That brings back memories... I've had many people over the years ask me "How did you go through 10 years in the Navy and all those years at sea, and never get a tattoo???" I just said it was simple... "I never got drunk enough! Every other sailor I've known told me about the story behind the tattoo, and it always started with something along the line of "we were soooo drunk, and I woke up with a splitting head ache and looked down and wondered, where did THAT come from???" 😂🤣

I got the pleasure of meeting him years ago when he came to town for a show. I had 4 beers with him. He told me some hilarious stories about him growing up and some road trips he took to my town when he was younger. He couldn't have been more kind and just a joy to be around.

Trace Adkins is a very kind and generous person who just recently gave a free concert in our Tornado stricken town of Mayfield Ky which was devastated and destroyed on December 10, 2021. an EF4 tornado left 24 people dead and at least 200 people injured in Graves County Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service. Trace stopped here to help raise money and bring awareness as our people work and struggle to rebuild, on his " Somewhere in America Tour". Yes were gonna miss this but we will rise up better than ever! Thank you Trace!

I always took “you’re going to miss this” to mean either you’re going to miss this (long for) and you’re going to miss this (fart around and miss what’s going on around you). That’s what I’ve always loved about this song.

Oh, I remember my girls saying these things. They are 28, and 22 now. Now they know how hard life is, they are back home again. Both of them. The pandemic helped, but they are both home still, and I am so happy to have them home. They have been home for three years now, and my wife and I kind of want them to leave the nest now. We love them like a fat kid loves cake, but we need them to scoot now, and let us have our mid-life crisis please. I say this, but I am so happy every morning when I check their bedrooms, and see them snuggled in their old little beds. I guess that our time can wait.

I'm old. 3 weeks ago my age changed to 75. My oldest is 49 but it seems as if he was born yesterday. I have a son 45, a daughter 42 and my youngest will be 30 in December. I remember the day each was born. My oldest, was a product of 2 years of fertility battles for my wife. We lost 6 before he was born. The last one we lost the year before through miscarriage, she was 6 months. My wife had no problem getting pregnant but staying that way wasn't easy. For 2 years I had to take my wife's temperature and chart it before she could get out of bed. Our sex was clinical, because of the motions that we had to go through, rather she more than me. Once pregnant she had to have hormone pills during the pregnancy. But I guess they weren't strong enough because as I stated earlier, she only made it through 6 months of pregnancy. But we kept going . My wife got pregnant only a few months after losing our daughter. This time my wife had to visit her doctor weekly to get hormone injections. That worked. On Easter Sunday the next year our oldest son was born. I was supposed to be in the delivery room, but wouldn't you know it. We got to the hospital and I broke out with Shingles. So I had to wait in the waiting room. Whatever happened during the birth of our first, straightened out whatever had been wrong with my wife because our next children were glorious surprises. But, still problems as I see, though minor. Our next child came backward so he had to be taken by C-section which left me in the waiting room again. But when my daughter was born 3 years later I finally got to be in the delivery room as she was being born even though she had to be C-section as well. But I guess the rules changed. Seeing her born was beautiful. My 4th, a son, also C-section came 12 years later. I not only got to be there in the delivery room but I got to give him his first bath right there in the delivery room. All of it though seems like yesterday, vivid in my mind. Yes, each day is precious, savor each one. Britt, I can also relate to having no childhood home. I was raised in 8 states and attended school in 6 of those states. I lived in 3 different houses while attending kindergarten. My brother and I were separated our younger sister for much of her childhood and one year I was separated from both of them. So home is where I am, not where I've been.
