The instrument is called Koto, you can find similar instruments all over the far east and even in central Asia, I think it belongs to the zither family of instruments.

Senbonzakura (Thousand sherry blossom) is one of their biggest hits, from their first album Vocalo Zanmai (2014) The song is taken from Vocaloid and is actually a cover of Hatsune Miku. This song is about the westernization of Japan, which happened during the Meiji Restoration.
