ah 2 Unlimited, lovely memories of the early 90s. We were all in love with Anita Doth back in the day. Ray Slijngaard was indeed 20yo at the time as was Anita. No Limits was their biggest hit.
At last! That was the beginning of 90's disco havoc! And I was SO in love with Anita... They had SO many hits! My choices : "Tribal dance", "Maximum overdrive", "No one", "Let the beat control your body", "Faces", "Magic friend", "Real thing", "Jump for Joy", "Twilight zone". Absolute Eurodance Megastars! I hope for more reactions.
the nineties were full of extremely popular artists, whose songs are still heard today, very often as covers and so on, and I admit that these two were my favorites!Nice music and lyrics, great videos for their time, with a super beauty in them... what more could a young man ask for??
Yes, yes, yes!!! More 90s please!!! Technotronic, Haddaway, Dr Alban, Londonbeat, Urban Cookie Collective, Culture Beat and many more!!! Also have you done Sonique - It Feels So Good, this is a later one, maybe early 2000s but if you don't know if I think you'd love it!!! It was a massive hit when it came out!!!!
The Male Single is called "Ray Slijngaard" (which you can find on Wikipedia) and yes, he was 20, because according to the site he was born on 28 June 1971. So next month he will turn 52 already. The vocal singer is called 'Anita Doth'.
I agree, when I first saw the vid I was like "Oh he's foine" lol. Crazy to think this was released right before I was born! Wish I got to experience 90s clubbing 🥺
This is such a jam. I was a teenager in the 90’s so I loved it. I had their greatest hits Hits Unlimited (can’t find on Spotify but someone made a playlist) and omg so many jams!!! I think you would love that playlist. The first song Do What’s Good For Me is my bop. Listening now thanks for the reminder!!
I was about 3 years away from retiring from spinning in clubs when this stunning track was unleashed. I spun everything up to 'Here I Go' with pleasure.
Get ready for this was a great track, but No Limits was their best hit, Twilight Zone and Tribal Dance are also great. You should also consider other dance groups of the 90s, Twenty Four Seven, 2 Brothers on the 4th floor, Culture Beat and Faithless .
I think regarding Dido, that even though the Enlminem song came out first the Dido song was already written and was included in his song almost as a sample. As far as I'm aware she didn't expand on the snippet to write a full song. I may be wrong, but I'm sure that's what I heard, I might be wrong.
Twilight Zone, No Limit, Here I Go, The Real Thing, Let The Beat Control Your Body, No One, Nothing Like The Rain, Tribal Dance...they had so many hits
Your good reaction brought me to your channel. I decided to subscribed ;) I think you must react to this Filipino girl group 4th Impact sings "Leave the Door Open" (Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic) Have luck to your Channel.
Yay you're the first reactor I've seen with 2 Unlimited on their channel. I was born in 1982 and they were massive in early 90's here in Scotland/UK when I was 10/11 yrs old, the nostalgic feels are unreal. Thank you good sir ❤🎉
It's good but I prefer Twilight Zone from the same album even their second opus with the single "No Limit" which was a killer and a huge hit everywhere.
Like KLF, this group took the New Beat rhythms and added Rap and Funky. I personally prefer New Beat, though. New Beat was a current created in Belgium in 1986 and lasted 'til 96. It was subdivided between several genres : New Beat, Acid Music, House Music, Techno and Hardcore. 2 Unlimited is more related to the Techno branch.
There are three songs that made 2 Unlimited legendary. ofcourse "no limits"was their greatest song. this song "get ready for this" because of all the worldwide sports events. and then you have the "mortal combat videogame" song :)
You're such a nice reactor, new subscriber in your Channel! Would you mind if I ask you to react to "LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN" by a Filipino Girl group 4th Impact.
Pure 90s dance cheese. Great at the time, stale now. At the time we had a lot of European acts with a very formulaic cut and paste dance music. Did they fill the dancefloor ? Absolutely. But when I think of 90s dance I think of KLF, who had the musical understanding, great guest vocalists and originality behind them.
Queen just released a new song last week, with Freddie singing. A lost song Queen found from 1988. It's already number 1 in 22 countries. Called "Face it alone ". Can you react to it?
06:40 You're right Dereck, it's nothing more than a good sounding melody (only 5 notes!) with a dance beat. The lyrics that were added were always very very simple, often something about sound and dancing on a dancefloor and lines that made no sense at all, if it rhymed it was good enough. Then to know that Rays English pronunciation was bad, he couldn't dance (note the way he's filmed), couldn't sing, and Anita was in my opinion also a very limited singer (couldn't sing high and often out of tune). However, none of that mattered, it just sounded so great!
@@ruuddhont2098 2 Unlimited is registered with Sabam. Sabam is the Belgian association for authors, composers and publishers . Thé fact that the "singers" Anita Doth and Ray Slijngaard are Dutch makes the project not Belgian/Dutch as you say. It's all about who the project is registered...in this case it's Sabam. That makes 2 Unlimited a Belgian dance project.... Same can be said about Snap!. The singers were Americans the project itself was German.
Hi Dereck, completely unrelated to this video but please I would love you to react to a song by Agnetha (ABBA) called “I won’t let you go”. You won’t regret it! 🎶🎤💃
Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on 2 Unlimited. Much better than Patoche! lol 😁😅 I didn't think that one day you would make this group since you know them and surely their songs but maybe much less their clips but especially the Eurodance since you are a fan of 90's dance music. This song "Get Ready For This" was released in September 1991 as the lead single from their debut album "Get Ready!" Unfortunately the title has never been classified in France in the TOP 50 on the other hand it was very well known in the dance music rankings of the time of the French radios, the titles most played in clubs. As proof, we often hear it on TV shows or in sporting events around the world where it is often used such as during the Superbowl, basketball, baseball or ice hockey. The song has also been heard a lot in commercials, TV series like Friends, movies like Space Jam. In this same opus, I recommend you "Twilight Zone" my favorite. 2 Unlimited is one of my favorite 90's dance music bands with Technotronic, Ice MC for example, 20 Fingers, Mc Sar & The Real Mc Coy and many others later. In 1991-1992, there were lots of groups like Captain Hollywood Project, Snap, The KLF , Black Box (Strike It Up, Fantasy) Shamen (you didn't react on them!), Pleasure Game (Belgian group with Le Dormeur/The Sleeper, their huge hit), Twenty 4 Seven, C & C Music factory, Latino Party, Felix (An English DJ with his big hit "Don'T You Want Me"), Cartouche... I think you know "No Limit" their smash hit in the world, maybe not the videoclip. Again a memory, i bought the 2 track CD at the Virgin Megastore in Paris during my 3-4 day trip to Paris with my 9th grade class in college at night at 10 p.m. in the store. There was no such store in my city or region apart from Fnac. I remember buying their second album "No Limits" on CD at the time of the release of the single "No Limit" (which was a very big hit in the world) in July 1993 when I had obtained my patent (9th grade ), I was given pocket money. For me "No Limits" album is their best with several hits: Tribal Dance, Faces, Maximum Overdrive in 1993, Let The Beat Control Your Body (1994) my favorite and for the third album "Real Things" in 1994: The Real Thing, No One (my fav too!), Here I Go (my fav!!) in 1995 and Jump For Joy in 1996, one of my favorite. I often bought single CDs or Maxi CD's ("Here I Go" for example, I remember the red and black swirl with the spider web on the back) for single or "radio edit" versions but also remixes, many at that time for all dance music groups. Thanks for your great job our American homie. 👍🇫🇷
