I am 60 years old and have heard some remarkable singers in my life and I truly believe she will be the greatest of all, doesn't have a weak spot anywhere as I can tell, can make any song her own and her timing is always spot on, perfection at it's finest, just mesmerizing, hell I don't know what else to say

I believe the abrupt ending symbolizes how life abruptly ends. We can never truly prepare for that. Just as we do not want this song to end, it suddenly stops. There are no coincidences in Angelina’s music. Every note has an intention behind it. Thank you for a beautiful and very real emotional reaction to Angelina.

I’ve experienced a visitation from my mother. It’s as clear in my mind today as it was when it happened 27 years ago.

Lukas, I have truthfully watched many vocal coaches to weightlifters (lol) who attempt to hold it together while watching Angelina sing. From her youth as you have to any latest songs she sings or covers if you will , my point is your comments always seem to reflect what the majority of us feel to be and that is blessed to witness this child rise from her young success to where she is today, on the verge of greatness (as if she has not already attained that plateau. Ok, so it's been about a year. I wonder if this tune has made it to FM radio. I listen mostly to NPR so I'm not at all in the ballpark of modern music but I have to say, this young phenom is a true gift to humanity and the world of music. Such a rich sound emanated from her. Angelic... ( hence the Angel fans I reckon). I've seen most of her videos here on YT, about 160 of them I think. And every one of them is special. Covers, originals, all of it produced and performed with great elan. Pure class. True musical art. And the crazy thing is how few people have heard of her. I'm sure, for the moment, she and her family appreciate the semblance of anonymity because this “girl” is destined for superstar status. It's fairly obvious to anybody that listens to her just one time. She's closing in on 17 yrs old. Another 60 days or so. She has a record contract. And I'm wondering if somehow missed her on the radio or some TV show. Everything I know of her is from here and TikTok. Nonetheless, Lukas... You're a terrific reactionary. Very professional. She was 14 at the time she did this live performance in the studio. I predict this girl by age 20 is an international mega star. Her ability to emote goes beyond ANY singer we have seen in decades. I am 69 years young and can feel her soul’s passion; her need to heal the emotional energy in others by stimulating strong responses. This child is a blessing in an unbalanced world.

It doesn't matter how long ago the loss of a loved one, but particularly immediate family (parent, spouse, grandparent, child, etc) or how recent, the void, the pain and longing never really goes away. I lost my mother 50 years ago, when I was 8. I was denied my mother for most of my life, and then my father 20 yrs after that. This song and Angelina's rendering of raw emotion exposes the wounds somewhat...and I can still feel the loss, the longing to be held even but one more time. But I, too, know I'm never alone.

Shes one of a very few singers gives me goose bumps. Still love her version of bohemian rapsody but all her songs are beautiful.

I have just viewed this again. There is a video, the official music video, that she made with her sister as her. It is a tear-jerker for sure. I prefer it to the studio edition. It has her touch and emotion that she seems so capable of imparting to us in her songs.

I have noticed that this song bring a lot of reactors to talk about love and loss and their own lives, much more than the technical aspects of the song. I think that is testiment to Angelina Jordan’s gift as a storyteller. Sure, she knows her craft and instrument better than most singers two or three times her age, and has an incredible voice. But she always puts the song and her often unique interpretation of its story first, and vocally does what is needed to tell the story right. Not more and not less. With Angelina it is never about what she can do, always about what the song calls for. About that abrupt ending: In musical terms, it does not resolve, which means go back to its original and expected key root. Also in musical terms, this leaves the listener wanting more (and has an easy solution: If you put it on repeat, it WILL resolve - with the very first chord of the next playing!). A jazz singer and musician at heart, Angelina knows this full well, so clearly it is intentional. But from her own «What is life», «Shield» and now this beautiful song, we also know that Angelina is quite philosophically minded. So I leave it for everyone on his or her own to interpret that a song about love and loss does not resolve musically, even though lyrically is does (with the eventual solution to losing a loved one being the certainty of always carrying our memories of them in our hearts and still feeling their presence as we go on).

I remember back in the 60's when I heard Barbara Streisand for the first time. She had the ability to project the meaning of a song not just sing it. I hear that in this girl also. Angelina seems to have the ability to get inside a song and reveal it's true meaning. Judy Garland also had that talent. It was said of Garland that she could "sell" a song. To see that at such a young age makes me think that we are witnessing the birth of a legendary talent. I know that phrase is over used these days and only time will tell but I can't help but think that.
