Ok, it was not the clip, but it does not prevent from looking to the lyrics, even if the translation can't render the rhymes and cultural references. For instance, the mythic : Elle m'dit "cinquante" / Je lui dis "ça m'tente" which could be translated : She tells me "fifty" / I tell her "flirty"... But what I can't figure out is that you seemed to enjoy a lot the rythm and arrangement, Dereck and then suddenly you pause and say "I don't like it". Maybe french songs are not your "cup of tea" anymore... Smile is rare now and bananas almost vanished. 😥
J'en ai rêvé et c'est arrivé! Dommage qu'il n'accroche pas du tout, j'aurais cru qu'il allait devenir "bananas"! Mais le texte est tellement important à comprendre pour vraiment savourer la chanson.
C'est pour ça qu'il faut éviter les chansons et aussi chanteurs "à texte" car ça ne sert à rien! Il préfère la musique et la voix! Vous le connaissez pas depuis 2 ans maintenant, sérieux? Vous le voyez bien qu'il adhère beaucoup plus à l'instrumentation, pas comme nous! Faut arrêter avec les chansons philosophiques et "auteurs", il va pas écouter du Diderot, Rousseau, Voltaire ou Montesquieu aussi non? Quand on voit les traductions! Puis si le patreon avait été intelligent pour proposer le "vrai clip" qui collait aux paroles, il aurait sûrement approuvé car là l'émission comme il l'a fait comprendre avec le public ("à se demander ce qu'ils attendent" ou pourquoi ils sont là), ça fait vraiment kitsch!

Il ne faudrait pas induire *Dereck* en erreur. C'est donc important de le préciser dans votre commentaire. La traduction n'est pas suffisante, faudrait expliquer, je vois pas un étranger rentrer dans le moove juste avec la traduction, il y a des titres qui seront plus complexe à apprécier, c'est là que l'on voit nos différences culturelles. Been forever I haven’t listen to this one I even forgot about it. It was a regular 80 song on the radio. Approved or not doesn’t matter, it was regular enough at that time.
The lyrics are fab and the official video clip is much better to get the song. It's been my first french language 12" back in the day when i was just 15... still love it and know the lyrics by heart.... love it

Je connais cette chaîne YT car le propriétaire remastérise souvent les images et/ou le son des chansons 80's ou autres. J'ai regardé par exemple pour une chanson comparé à d'autres liens, lui avait le meilleur alors que d'autres c'était nul. Pour preuve Muriel Dacq avec Tropique, quelqu'un a utilisé sa vidéo pour le faire faire à Dereck alors que d'autres l'image et le son et le son étaient nuls. Y'a le clip original que sur le site concurrent Dailym et en intégralité (enregistré sur MelodyTV), le seul lien alors qu'en général les chaînes musicales ne montrent jamais le début, juste quand la chanson commence.

Without official clip or images to drawing the meaning of lyrics, you miss a main part of this song. Yes Dereck, it's a song like Rappers sing only by speeching with the rythm or the groove. Dereck, you're too young to really appreciate this song. You grew up and get used to shit music. This song is a little gem, very unique. And you should have react to the video clip, not this performance, you don't get the atmosphere, the thrill of the story in the lyrics.

@@samueldevulder ça je l'ai remarqué depuis quelques temps. Peut-être est-il "sous pression"? A-t-il des ennuis? Si c'est pour te rassurer, il écoute toujours Mylène et parfois Jeanne Mas ou François Valéry et j'ai vu quelques titres 80's mais pour Mylène, il a toujours préféré "l'ère Boutonnat". Je pense qu'un Patreon devrait lui faire faire du Alizée surtout Gourmandises car ça lui plairait! Et pour les 80's, des titres qui "bougent" ou un peu plus puissant niveau voix ou alors tempo plus rapide ou plus "synthpop". Comme tout Américain, il est plus sensible à la musique et à la voix. Le reste je pense il s'en fiche.

Y'a de quoi oui se poser des questions. Il n'est pas censé non plus avoir les mêmes goûts que nous. De plus quand il ne valide pas et ça me fait rire, tu consteras tout comme moi que le compteur monte! lol Idem pour tout ce qui est comique ou parodies, il n'aime pas mais ça fonctionne très bien niveau vues. A croire que ce titre aurait dû être proposé y'a un an voire beaucoup plus au tout début de l'année 2021 quand il découvrait nos chères années 80 françaises et dont il se délectait car pour lui c'était une "découverte", il adorait ça, comme un gamin. Tout nouveau pour lui de savoir que nous aussi en France ben oui y'avait de la "synthpop" comme il dit quand tu découvres quelques mois après l'interview où il disait qu'il ne savait pas que ça avait existé en France. On avait vu à quel point il aimait ça et en voulait davantage.
