After many requests to check out this song performed by this extraordinary gentleman from Kazakhstan, I decided to take a look/listen. Needless to say, it was breathtaking. Here's the original version: ru-vid.com?searc...
You are one of very few reactors that I don’t get irritated with for stopping. Your comments are thoughtful and professional and I appreciate your reaction. It’s great following your journey getting to know Dimash. Please react to more! Thank you.
I'm glad you heard that long breath. A lot of people are so shocked by what he doing with his rise and those runs, that they miss the fact that is was all one breath. You got the right word, 'amazing'.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="764">12:44</a> _"There are many artists who are incredibly talented, who have their own skill set._ _Dimash's skill set seems to be... that he can do all of it"_ - _Lucas Hassel_
his tool-box is infinetly and his voice control is perfect - the result of 10% talent and 90% of very hard work for over 20 years, as he mentioned himself in a russian interview. But the cream on the cake, as we say in Germany, is his personality and the message he shouted out loud to the world( with the story of one sky): we need peace❣❣❣
I don't think that many people had noticed(but i did), that you are the first reactor(i saw a lot, not only Dimash reactions) who waits _perfect_ time to pause the video. So i think that fact should be noticed.
Please do react soon again. I really enjoy other people sincerely fall in love with his vocals. Amazing is that he will blow you away every time with something you have not hear him do before. It’s a ride, a journey, that for me and lots of other Dears just enrich our musical experience. Love to join you in your journey! He became famous in Chine by the Singer in 2017, so you are a couple of years behind 😉 so lots of great songs to go. Ogni Pietra next?!
I absolutely agree. I really dislike when people tell reactors not to pause to react or comment. What's the point of watching a reaction then? If I want to see the video with no pauses, I go to the artist's channel.
@@SakkaraKirax I dislike when commenters always tell the person reacting to react to the same old same old instead of reacting to EVERYTHING Dimash does. Dimash has no prejudices in his genres of music choices, he includes us all!!!!!!!!!!!
The first gentleman that stands up to applaud DIMASH is Igor Krutoy, he has partnership with him many times. Famous composer and pianist from Russia, who was retired, and they say, he came back inspired by DIMASH’s talent. You mention that DIMASH is very focused on convey the message of the song...well, in the future you will see that he keeps his focus while very close in the stage interacting with his dears in the audience, singing along with them and having all the fun without losing any of his quality performance. He’s just complete. Kazakhstan named him national treasure, but we think he’s actually a world’s treasure. He has worked very hard since 5 years old and never waisted time in becoming the best singer. What an example for all our young ones ❤️ Thank you for the reaction 🌷Great song to watch next maybe LOVE OF THE TIRED SWANS, with Igor, it’s in Dimash’s channel, best place to avoid copyright issues. And they are subtitled.
Aren't you glad you found Dimash? The man who stood, Maestro Igor Krutoy. Came out of retirement to work with Dimash. Has written songs for him, Olympico, Love Is Like A Dream, written for another famous Soviet singer is now sung by Dimash. Check them out!
The stages of vocal coach reactions is a bit different: 1. Oh, that's pretty. Good breathing control. 2. Wow. Great head voice. 3. Whoah. Amazing range! 4. WTF D8?!! 5. Silence... Oh, goosebumps... 6. What have I been doing all my life?..
I came to watch your second reaction with Dimash and I can see that this time you had goosebumps ... You'll get used to it, hahahaha ... The first time I saw Dimash I broke down in tears. After listening to Dimash 100 more times, he keeps giving me goosebumps hahaha ... he is simply unsurpassed ... And he gets better and better. As a bonus, he is a mature and "with his feet firmly on the ground", highly disciplined, with great family and moral values. He is a really nice person.
Man in the white shirt who gave him standing ovation is Maestro Igor Krutoy, Russian composer and producer, who has composed songs for many , many singers, including Lara Fabian. He is a mogul. six time richer than Donald Tramp. After hearing Dimash, he came back from his retirement, and started to write songs just for him. They are very close, he took Dimash under his wings, and started organizing his concerts. Dimash can sing anything that he wanted to compose but there was not a singer who could do that. More, Dimash is so humble, loving, caring, family oriented young man that is a pleasure to work with him. Please keep reacting, you will see Maestro Krutoy many times on piano with Dimash performing. Ogni Pietra ( Olympico ) was written for Dimash for opening of the European Olypic games in Minsk. Lyrics are GREAT, it is in Italian. If you want to react to it, try to find Fan cam version with CC. Always watch Dimash performances with lyrics. He carefully chooses which song he would sing. Use GLORIA WU channel for older performances, and his official channel for newer. Feelings are even more intense when you read lyrics, and intros to the songs. Uhm, I can write here for 5 hours about Dimash, but it is enough for now. You can ask, and we will gladly answer. Dimash has a huge fan base, and everybody is willing to help new reactor. Welcome to Dimashland :)))
Dimash seems to be one of the New Kids who have been coming in with talents far beyond the best human abilities, so far. He came in already an angel, using more of his DNA that us regular people. The way he calls his fans, "Dears," shows his love. I enjoy your reactions. You express in your face as much as Dimash expresses in voice and then your words are very descriptive. What a treat!
Dimash breathes music, he is music. That is ok if you rewind, we, Dears, have seen these video multiple times and we will never ever get bored to see someone appreciate Dimash's amazing talent. Thanks
About the "yoddle" at 8;18 (before that 25 sec insane high note with runs) it's actually called "akins", it's a mournfull song used Kazakhstan, Kirghistan, Dagestan and some other countries in the Caucasus mountains or in Middle east. Dimash reinterpreted "Sinfull Passion" from Studio A, a band from his homeland, and added the “funeral melisma” (that oriental sounding portion) towards the end in homage of the singer who passed away. You can find the original song on RU-vid.
I have never heard a singer this magnificent and his stage charisma is amazing, he can dance and I even heard him Rap at the Moscow concert. He blows me away. He is a force of nature
I was in his NY concert, was Amazing.. I will not get tired of hearing this young man with that wonderful gift, I cannot believe that a single human being has so much in himself, passion, emotion, beautiful personality, a great heart, and a pure and unique technique. Love it! Also, a great coincidence and pleasant surprise happened to me Dec 9, in New York, day before the concert. When I was about to enter the NY library I saw Dimash's parents who were also entering, Dimash's younger brother was our translator ... that was a nice meeting..I had some photos with them ....❤❤❤❤
What was that? It was, yakutian style. Yakuts life in Russia but are closer to kazaks. In Mongolia and other nations there are singers that use this technique. I think he switched to the kazakh zhotkau technique in the second half of this run. It's a traditional Kazakh lament singing to grief about a person that passed away. In this case he honored the original singer of this song. He was one of his favorite singers and the original band (A-Studio) accompanied him. The man that played the keyboard is the songwriter... I really enjoy your reactions. I would be grateful if you react to Samaltau from Tokio Jazzfestival next. It's a kazakh song and you will se Dimashs spiritual side. Thank you from Germany 🇩🇪 and Italy 🇮🇹
@@lukashasselNY I agree, please react to Samaltau from Tokio Jazz Festival: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UvMRkiYu3Js.html. Dimash sings this song in sitting "yoga" pose :-) No crazy vocal runs but a beautiful Kazakhs song. There is an instruments intro which you most likely haven't heard before.
I totally agree with the choice of Samaltau for the richness of Dimash's voice, the haunting sounds of the Kazakh steppes through the use of traditional instruments and the sober atmosphere. A unique experience!
This is one of my favourite performances of Dimash. The final run is out of this world, I wonder if another human being would be able to do it. Yet, in my opinion, Dimash gives us something better than perfection... he is a unique combination of natural gift, technique, self confidence and beauty, stage presence... and he is so wise, humble and nice. I hope he will get the success he deserves, he is a world class artist and so inspiring...
And, as Asel and Gulnara wrote in their comments below, "that eastern (oriental) passage is a traditional Kazakhstan crying (weeping) for somebody who's dead. In Kazakh language it is called 'Zhoktau'. And Dimash included this part into the song in respect for the first singer of this song - Batyrkhan Shukenov, who unfortunately died early. Me, being the Kazakh, was a little bit astonished. Dimash never does anything without big sense, he bulids up all the songs in his own, very specific way! Each note, every tune is just perfect! ❤️🇰🇿 The national music culture of the Kazakh people is very interesting and special. Dimash helps other people to get into his culture and he does it so well. Not only he sang the national song from his country - no, the song in his interpretation just penetrates the hearts and the souls, making people empathize to it. No doubt, Dimash is a patriot , but he is also a great humanist, and that's his power"
Dimash said in an interview: "...Open my heart - you will find music there. If you open my brain, you will also find music... Music is my life..." That is what you will see, hear and feel in every song. He is devoted to music and gives all of himself to convey the emotions of a song and to take his audience into his world. The journey discovering Dimash will be full of surprises because he is so versatile. You didn’t see much yet. I appreciate your pauses, that’s why I’m watching reaction videos and it’s interesting to hear what you think. Thank you for this reaction. Also I want to recommend „Samaltau“ Tokyo Jazz Festival on Dimash‘s RU-vid channel. I think you will like it.
Yes I am obsessed with Samaltau. It’s hundreds of years of tradition put into a performance that’s portrayed with such respect and so much emotion. Instrumentalists are world class, Dimash makes you feel like you’re there in the song because he is. It’s a beautiful experience.
Dimash in displaying his spiritual gifts in Samaltau gives me the feeling that I am witnessing a true Shaman. For someone so young to absorb, then share with the world to such a degree is astonishing. Hard to fathom how he can keep getting better but he does continuously.
Dimash will become a word in the dictionary, because there are no words currently that are adequate to describe his performances. We are SO lucky to be alive at the same time as him.
❤️ You can say we are lucky yes, butt he is also lucky to have the fans he has and the audience to showcase this to live! It's a 2 way street and we are all winners :) I just found out about him a few days ago and I can't get enough and sing to the songs all the time :D Also I very much appreciate that Lukas tries his best to carefully place his pauses, because he cares :)
Dimash is something else, isn't he? And this journey has only just begun. I've been following Dimash for just over a year, and he still amazes me. Your reactions are great. I love your sincerity. It reminds us all of discovering Dimash all over again. With your film background, I think you'd enjoy Across Endless Dimensions. But if you want to hear a song in his native language ...Samaltau from Tokyo Jazz Festival..it's an immersive, almost spiritual experience. One of my all time faves.
I watch reactions to relive the moment I first discovered Dimash, and not everyone delivers the same emotions. You have been a delight to run across, with well-timed pauses which are not intrusive but meaningful. I must add a thanks for wearing the "full coverage" headset and not those earbuds!
Your reaction was epic! That's just how I feel with every Dimash song. One of his many masterpieces. Thanks for reacting to Dimash again. Hope you will do more. Love is Like a Dream is my favorite. But, you can't go wrong with any performance.
Thank you for the reaction. Congratulations, you are getting Dimashified! That is one of the best things that can happen in a person's life. Love from a Dimash Dear in Iceland!
He is not just a brilliant singer. He is also a brilliant performer. He is always present and never lose even a second where his eyes wanders off and he loses connection. His eyes and his body is engaged every second in his performances.
Your reactions are wonderful and don't listen to those, who tell you you pause all the time. It's your reaction and your channel. So please do the way you like it. Especially you do it great!
That crazy thing with his voice is a traditional sound, like a dirge, a lament for the dead. Dimash added it in in honor of this song's original singer who passed away. So happy that you decided to check up Dimash again. Dimash succeeds in surprising us with every song and performance.
@@julieh.700 Kazakh Dears may be able to confirm it but when I first heard the song, I searched what this throat singing was and I learned that it is called a "zhoktau", a song of farewell to the dead. Somewhere along comments, I often saw it being referred to the original singer.
@@michelegagne5169 HI Michele! I was under the impression that Throat singing was what the singer who was part of the instrumentalists did in song "Swan Goose" Dimash performed with Tengri. If that's the case then what Dimash is doing here is completely different. I don't doubt it's traditional music from Kazakhstan or at minimum from that region. I'm just struggling to find an example of it in the mourning music called "zhoktau" or "жоқтау". If you know of any similar examples, could you point me toward them. It's clear they have mourning songs but it isn't clear that what he did here was modeled after them. Just trying to be sure. We may need Kazakh help on this.
@@julieh.700 If you are interested in Kazakh musical history, there is a LOT to discover. I delved into it when I first heard Dimash say that almost everyone plays the dombra in his country. It got me curious as to why that was so and I came upon a rich history of oral traditions (which for a people without a nation is not unusual---and remember that Dimash was born at the same time Kazakhstan won their independence). I had no idea before then the historical importance of music and poetry in the daily lives of Kazakhs nor did I know about their shamanic traditions and all the different voice techniques reserved for the few enlightened ones. If you are interested, you will find a lot of material about it from many scholars and it truly is worth the time. Because Dimash is so very much attached and respectful of his roots, today I better understand why. The Kazakh people have an extremely rich oral history and ALL OF IT bathes in music. That is why I know Dimash would not have used this vocal yodel just for the effect. As per Kazakh traditions, sound and meaning are inseparable.
@@julieh.700 you can find this and many other background info. on youtube, many interesting interviews even subtitled, and, don't forget! Dimash 'Dears' are very knowledgeable about their idol :)) the story about the band wsho lost one of their members is true, it was in 1998, cheers from Vienna!
I think this is the point... His presence and the story-telling. For me his version of Love is like a dream is the greatest proof of his talent. Not because of the vocal acrobatics.... He feels and makes me feel. He entered the scene and everything happened. (I felt that only with one singer before.) Thank you for your precious reaction!
I believe that "that thing"he does with his voice is called "bleating" and it's kind of mournful or funeral chant. Dimash inserted this into this particular song to honor the original singer of this song. I would like to thank you for your reactions. I thoroughly enjoy all of them. Very well done, sir!
That run is at least 22 seconds long. Dimash has raised the bar so high that no-one but him can accomplish what he has in each song he sings. His singing & vocal abilities are unique, flawless & incomparable. Thank you for your great reactions to any & all of Dimash’s songs such as Adagio, Ogni Pietra, Unforgettable Day, Your Love, Love is Like a Dream & many more. His Kazakh songs are also phenomenal. I have to say that not a day goes by without me listening to Dimash’s magnificent & heavenly voice. ❤️🥰🇨🇦

So happy to hear your comments, so detailed. Most of his songs give me the goosebumps 🥰 every time, even after watching them many times. Your reactions, are not annoying at all, please do more reactions to Dimash’s videos. 🙏
I absolutely love your honest, thoughtful reaction to Dimash! He has a God given talent that he has worked very hard for 21 yrs to perfect. He lives each and every song with every cell of his body during every single song!! Love your pauses and comments!! Most of us watching have already heard his songs many, many times in their entirety. We are here to get your response! Thank you again will look forward to your next Dimash experience! 💜🤗💜🤗💜
Dear Lucas! I've been a fan of Dimash for a year and a half. I listen to Dimas every day. It's like a «drug». It's not enough all the time. The song "Sinful Passion" has been heard without bloggers and bloggers, probably, already 1000 times. But what is the phenomenon of Dimas and his voice? Probably in the perfection of performance and illusion of limitlessness of voice. You're right, in any dimash register it feels as if it's his main register. The ease with which he takes high notes without any effort or strain, strikes. Look how calm and beautiful his face is when he takes high notes. In other singers we see on the face and in movements first trained to take a high note. We see all the effort and tension when he produces this high note. After a high note, the singer breathes deeply and theatrically and can not catch his breath, because he just made a feat - sang us this high note. Dimash is different. There is no preparation, there is no effort on his face, he always has enough air, he takes high notes among other things, in the course of the song, as there is nothing to do. It seems that everything is easy for him. Dimasha is called Alien or Angel. Your impressions and comments are interesting. Dimash all causes admiration, surprise, goosebumps. Or surprise, admiration and tears. To choose from. Thank you for the interesting reaction. Dimasha's repertoire includes 107 songs. In every song you will find a surprise. Hello from Kazakhstan.
Even when he stops singing, I can ear him in my head in different time of the day, at particular moments his voice continue to sing in me. He is just beautiful, thanks you Dimash!
It is such a delight to see the reaction of his peers. Even though you direct and not sing, you are highly aware and were rather more succinct than several opera singers I have listened to get blown away. Perhaps that is exactly why you spoke with such clarity. Your profession demands it. Cheers lad. Great reaction.
I love, love your reactions!! Please pause as much as you like. You're officially a Dear now. Welcome aboard. Please take a look to Adagio, Ogni Pietra, The Show must go on and Daybreak at Bastau. He's just mind blowing every time.
The middle eastern sounding portion of the song is from his culture and is a funeral type lament for the original singer of this song who died. The band playing are the members of the original band whose name starts with A. Someone timed it and the timer he used said 22 seconds long. I saw it myself.
I just found Dimash myself. And you're raction to it is just what I needed. You're hearing the feelings aswell. When I see opera singers react to this, they get very tecnical, wich they should, 'cause they know how freaking hard this is. But you don't have to have an education in music to KNOW how hard this is or how impossible it SHOULD be, to sing like that. He's doing what no one should be able to do, and it's freaking awesome.. Also... Hey silverfox
@@coppeemyriam I sing myself, only on a me doing karaoke at home and love singing kind of thing, I KNOW how hard this is, my vocal chords shut when I hear Dimash, 'cause he's the one singing, not me and I wouldn't dare to try and sing like him. He hits notes I only dream about being able to sing. I get blown away every time I listen to this. Dimash is a vocal God in my eyes, and I've listened to A LOT of opera, because I love it, but noone I've ever heard has come close to this. The tenor, countertenor, soprano and alto and all in between, I just can't even. His voice is totally uniqe and I don't even belive in God or Gods, but something in the star system did just right the day Dimash was born, and if there is angels, an angel blessed his vocal chords for us to enjoy. :) Have a joyfull christmas, whereever you are
Agreed! Dimash has given sooo much joy to the world. This is my humble thank u gift, God willing, to the incomparable Dimash: a cover song of "Over Here" inspired by his D-Dynasty recording. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y6dzMVXSg4g.html Blessings, InfoArtist JK, Washington, DC USA
"This is just something that..." We are all lucky to be alive and able to hear. I've watched 100s of reactions to his performances and the astounded look on people's faces is worth it every time.
I loved your reaction. Dimash added that lament for the original singer who helped write this song and died in 2015. Keep reacting to Dimash's wonderful songs. His goal has always been to bring Kazakhstan music and culture to the world. He is doing a great job.
If you really want to blow your mind on this man's vocal pinnacle, I highly request you watch/react to his song of "Unforgettable Day (Gakku Live) Performance. He manages to hit a D8 note, sounds almost like microphone feedback from how insanely high-pitched it is. I think one other male in the world has ever been able to achieve the note, and even then it wasn't sung like what Dimash manages to do! Dimash is TRULY amazing and breath-taking. Loved your reaction vid to this!
Some info to this song, especially reg. the cultural style after those high notes: Dimash’s tribal/ethnic riff while singing Sinful Passion… was a tribute/ paying respect to Batyr Shukenov, who died in 2015. Batyr was another famous Kazakh singer, the original singer of this song and member of the same A’Studio band that is accompanying Dimash on the stage. That singing style is an improvisation of ‘zhoktau’ (means crying for a departed person), a traditional Kazakh grief singing by women at funerals. Zhoktau (‘weeping’) is a memorial song by the Kazakhs. Zhoktau is the oldest genre of the poetry of nomadic tribes, preserved and passed into the life of the Kazakh people. Traditionally, it contains verses and text the expressed sorrow about the person who has died, recalling the good deeds he performed.
It appears that you have a good amount of knowledge concerning the background in relation to the songs. Possibly you can tell me about the hand gestures Dimash uses, as I was informed he was taking his song highlights, grasping special notes, and them releasing them to the sky (up to the departed.)
Want to see what a man looks like the moment he falls in love? Watch Lukas at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="60">1:00</a>. 🤣 Lukas, we understand! 😍😍😍

Thanks for your reaction great reaction I really like seeing the expression on your face I subscribed now. Did you see the couple who gave Dimash the standing ovation , he is Russia multibillion air Igor kurtoy that was the first time he heard him singing , and he decided to come out of retirement to compose songs for Dimash vocals capability. Please react to OGNI PEiTRA the first song compose by Igor kurtoy for Dimash thanks😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰Dears from Singapore God bless you.
I have seen so many reactions to Dimash this reaction is one of my favorites. Obviously, I am in love with Dimash, I go to sleep with his songs in my mind, I drive to my work playing his songs in my car,, and I sleep with his songs in my dreams, he stole the hearts of entire world. With that being said; so many fake vocalists and reactionists are taking advantage of Dimash’s popularity and doing reactions to his songs just to get more followers, clicks and subscribers, but I see that you truly enjoy Dimash and your reactions to his beautiful songs and charming voice are pure and honest, thank you for that and keep reacting to Dimash’s songs and engaging new listeners.
