Saw this way back then and it never gets old. This guy is amazing, such great vocal range, breath control that would put hardened professionals to shame, stage presence, everything. He does a lot of amazing covers of all different artists and you could argue that his versions are even better, including this one. Simply epic.
The fact that the audience remained absolutely silent throughout speaks for itself! Also, Scott and Mitch (from PTX) had a side gig called Superfruit (in their earlier years). Superfruit, along with Brian Justin Crum and Mario Jose and Mary Lambert, did an EXTREMELY powerful cover of Katy Perry's Rise (in response to the mass - shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando... Definitely worth checking out!!

Hello Lukas Nice to see you again. You won't believe me but I heard Brian Justin Crum only a few months ago and since then I've been getting "my fix" of goosebumps every day! he exudes such sensitivity, such emotionality, such passion! I feel the same emotion as you listening to him, he was only 4th but it allowed him to better accept himself and flourish royally! he is a great LGBT activist and I am proud of him and his current journey. He's a very talented singer. He also did a collab with a few of the Pentatonix members and other assorted singers which was also amazing. Wish I could remember the name of the song, but it escapes me at the moment. If you manage to find it, it's worth a listen.

I know they are often tedious but if you had watched the version with his back story you would have learned why this song was so appropriate for him and why he was so invested in it. A nice touch is that when the camera goes to the audience at the start, the bearded guy in the shot was and may still be for all I know, his partner although it's never mentioned in the programme. About his performance, there is nothing I can say that would add anything to the experience. I am with you as regards talent shows and the only one I watch is RuPaul's Drag Race. It's just as edited and produced as the others but the cast are just so damned entertaining. [Edit] Small point but his name is actually Brian Justin Crum. You might enjoy his equally powerful 1st audition where he sang Queen's "Somebody to Love".
I just LOVE watching people listen, for the first time, to this incredible version of this song sung by Justin. Everyone is just floored by the man’s vocals! I cry everytime I hear this audition, thstd how much his voice moves me!!! And you said it right, just spot on….. Why haven’t we heard more about this amazingly talented artist??? You really should pull up his whole story on AGT, it’s well worth it! It tells you where he’s coming from and you appreciate him even more..,whst I found fascinating was that he actually used the songs in each subsequent show as a way of telling his life story, he makes the songs his very own and you can feel his emotional connection and the way he relates to each songs story. You picked up on it right away with “ Creep”…. Commenting that he was so personally invested and connected with the song. If you haven’t seen his “ somebody to love “ by Queen rendition yet…… go!!

I never know what to expect....A new singer, a new song at least for me, I haven't heard this song before, but it's really a very beautiful song. About Justin Crum, what can I say, he also has all the qualities of an artist. After listening to the song, and your reaction, I went to look to see who this young singer is, and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that he is also an actor in California, so you are colleagues in the guild. He is a handsome man, very presentable, and in spite to his physical, imposing appearance, it can be seen that he is a sensitive man, which for you men is an extraordinary quality. This was also seen in the way he performed this song, which is not an easy song at all, plus the lyrics....He definitely loves music, and I,m glad he had courage to come to this contest, because we like it or not, such contests, launch and give many artists the opportunity to make themselves know, give them a real chance. Let's not forget the little Angelina Jordan, also launched in Norway at such a contest....Anyway, Justin Crum is talented, that's for sure, he has a strong healthy voice, with a light vibrato, a warm timbre and when he needs it and the song demands it, then he can cope very well with challenges and high notes. One of my favorites. I can't believe he didn't win his season (4th place). His audition song, "Somebody to Love," is equally compelling. But, by far, my favorite of his is a collaboration of Katy Perry's Rise with Scott and Mitch (Superfruit/PTX), Brian Justin Crum, Mary Lambert, and Mario Jose. This was after and in honor of those impacted by the mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. As all members of the LGBTQ+ community, their message has such power!

I have to confess I don't like the original version of this but BJC version no matter how many times I hear it has the hairs on my body standing up on end and I almost cannot breathe I just want to hear him. He has produced some amazing songs (as has James Blunt 😂).

My absolute favorite version of this song, without question. I have loved this from the first time I heard it years ago, the soft, vulnerable start to the crescendo and then vulnerable again. Ironically I heard this before I ever heard Dimash, who also performs so many songs with that delicacy, right on the edge. Superfruit did Katy Perry’s Rise, Brian Justin Crum was also in that, so knowing that you like Scott and Mitch, they are joined by 3 others, absolutely incredible performance. Hi missed you. There is an insanely beautiful version of “Rise” on Superfruit, it’s Mitch and Scott. This guy,, Brian, Mary Lambert, and Mario. It’s a tribute to those killed at the Pulse Night Club in Florida. All the singers are friends and part of the LGBTQ+ community Honestly it’s so beautiful that I cry every-time I listen to it but still recommend it as it’s stunning By the way PTX was just awarded a star on Walk of Fame and they are so pumped.

Brian has several songs on youtube that are beautiful...there is also a version of this "full" song where he has a rear running down his face at the end. So very moving because it is the story of his childhood that he is telling.

These talent show results make no sense. Brian Justin Crum lost the competition to a magician, a mentalist act and a cute, banjo strumming little girl with a whispery voice. Unbelievable, in light of this man's extraordinary voice, emotions and powerhouse performances. He belongs in the mainstream of entertainment, he belongs in the spotlight.
I just listened to a duo with him and someone else. Tell him from Celine Dion. Very nice. But sadly to me he hasn't been able to better than CREEP. I would love to see him do more songs like that one. He has a few singles which I'll go listen to.

I been singing my whole life. I'm decent, have pretty good range and power. I sing a lot of Rock music. 2 of my favorite singers, all time, in any genre, were the great Layne Staley and Chris Cornell. But I have to say, this guy's breath, vocal cord, and mouth chamber control, is on another level!
He is incredible and is still putting out some wonderful music, he did a duet with matt bloyd where they cover the Celine Dion Barbra Streisand duet of tell him. Pure Brilliance and well worth the reaction.
Saw Justin Crum's audition and stood frozen - absolutely stunning. Another rather new talent I think you'd actually appreciate I found on youtube - The Voice Australia 2021 - Bella Taylor Smith singing Ave Maria. Check out her audition.
