As their big fans.. honestly i don't like this version too :( i prefer original or acoustic version for this song when in jam session, only 4 of them in studio and others members sing too.. i think you will like that one more.. I like this version, minus the backup singers. They made acoustic versions to many of their songs and actually from this concert, the acoustic version of The beginning is just shivers. :) with such an amazing musical rearrangement too. This concert was during covid, they were not allowed to do a real full concert, people had to sit and not sing and were not allowed to scream either. They did this in the countryside cuz tokyo had much stricter covid rules. anyways, from the acoustic version, my favorites are Vandalize and Your tears are mine. Both vocally excellent. But please remember that Taka is human too. He won't always be in 100% condition vocally. I don't think it's fair to criticise his vocals here, he did a great job here too.
So a little background on this... They literally couldn't make this an upbeat performance because this concert was still during covid and there were restrictions on cheering and such. You may have noticed that you don't really hear the audience except for some clapping at the end. It's because they weren't allowed to cheer. The entire venue required masking as well. So yeah, they pretty much had to take it down a few notches for this concert. That said, I'll say that this isn't one of my favorite acoustic versions either, but don't go writing off all of the band's acoustic renditions. Most of them are pretty amazing. You should check out some of their Studio Jam Session versions. "Deeper Deeper" which is a song that is heavy on the bass and very much a song you headbang and rock out to live has a very interesting acoustic version from this same concert.
Every song is on a case-by-case basis. We wouldn't allow one opinion to taint the remaining acoustical pieces. I appreciate your context about that particular concert. Thank you for the comment 😀
I really love this version of Mighty Long Fall, it's slow but the heartbreaking feels more stronger. It feels like you've just broke up with someone or you left someone that was really important to you and now you're sitting in the corner of the bar, drinking and feeling the bitterness alone.
You should really check out their most popular song that made them internationally famous, "The Beginning" live at Yokohama stadium Mighty Long Fall tour. This is their most energetic live performance of this song. The mighty long fall tour was the first time that they performed in a stadium so they were having a lot of fun and had a ton of energy throughout this concert that was almost 2 and a half hours. I love this song. I love the original version that you have already reacted to. The acoustic version where only the four of them are in it is absolutely mind-blowing. Im not sure i like this one that much. OOR don't need extra backup singers. Please, if you get a chance, react to the acoustic version with just them four. Taka's vocals and the band harmonies are so much better. ❤❤
The original version that they reacted to was the most tame version, minus the acoustic versions of course. Sadly most people don't know about the 2016 special live at Nagisaen. It's probably their most energetic concert with the most epic crowd. Another version that people haven't seen is from the 2018 Dead Pop Fest. The crowd is even more insane than Nagisaen.
I cannot believe you could actually find fault with this beautiful performance. smh Are you a professional singer teacher? Don’t expect perfection ALL the time. 🙄
