To see Mitch really rap you need to check out superfruit, feeling myself, he goes off on it. Hip hop goes Broadway (parts 1 and 2) and well worth a watch too. But to be honest so are all of superfruits vids plus everything else every member of the team has done as solo or colab. The rabbit hole goes DEEP and the ride is a good one 😉
They are actually at one location - Mt St Mary's University in Los Angeles. Avi does his acapella camp for students from around the world ever year there. Virtually during the pandemic but back to in person next month in June again. Mitch raps quite a bit. The backgrounds were chosen for the varied interests of the 5. Kevin is very religious, Scott's is the college guy, Mitch is the nerdy student, Kirstie was always focused on Broadway and Avi is a nature guy who is now an official spokesman for the Sequoias and King's Canyon National Parks in California.
Yes, there's always so much going on in a PTX video. Everyone is busy all the time! In the early days on the Sing-Off that tended to sound messy in spots, but once they sorted out how much was too much, they never crossed that line again. Every note and every effect is there to integrate with the overall sound... even their funny little "asides." Which makes it almost impossible to catch everything they're doing in a first viewing, or without decent headphones, or without some musical training. Part of the fun with PTX is not just listening to the amazing music they create, but also trying to discover how they're doing it. Thanks for all your great insight and observations!
Thanks Kaye! Soon i will check out that Evergreen vid and a few more solo songs. Hopefully that will give me even more insights on the people themselves. Excited for that 😄
Sean, on "the Sing Off", was telling Scott Kesha "sing talks" and that Scott sang so well, which he did entirely through Kesha's song, that sometimes Scott needed just to have "fun with it" and not worry so much about singing but do more "sing talking".Macklamore and Lewis songs can have cursing in it, and Kevin is very much against that, so they replace curse words with other words like "PTX" at the beginning. If you want to see a good example of this, check out their cover of "Thrift Shop" , another Macklamore and Lewis song, when they sub curse words for regular and sometimes funny words. Thank you for your PTX reaction. I always enjoy them.
I appreciate the fun energy PTX brings to this cover. The original sounds a bit boring to me when I hear it. Love this group! Upgrade! Thank you for your reaction to this! I would love to see you react to their cover of Thrift Shop by Macklemore! So fun! One of those couch songs. They cleaned it up and just had fun!! Here's the link! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y0qJdShOL_s.html Thanks, again!
You're right that they perform this song basically exactly the same live. If I remember correctly, Mitch doesn't do the highest of his high note. This song is just fun all around! Oh... And you have no idea how spot on you are with Mitches music taste. It's... eclectic and alternative. He loves analog techno, electronica, synth etc. His solo project is more along that style and when he and Scott did Superfruit they gave music recomendations in most episodes. And Mitches were often very indie and unique. Very fun.
Great reaction! So much FUN! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Recommend one of the first videos (if not the first) that went viral on the internet and put them on the map. They were so young. Cover of Gotye “ Somebody that I use to Know” I also agree with other commenters to check out Superfruit. The rabbit hole is Deep! ~Pentaholic from Louisiana 🇺🇸
Hello Jesse. This is great energy for sure. Love how you are enjoying PTX. For more PTX older songs please react to Royals, Somebody That I Used to Know and We Were Young. For more of Mitch rapping please react to Superfruit "Feeling Myself" and PTX "Problem". You got a taste already with "Can't Sleep Love" at Popspring. For Mitch's solo work please react to Your Power, Graveyard and Kiss the Air. For his new project with Mitch as Messer please react to Love Supply (audio only or fan-made lyric video), Gasoline Tears, Machine (visualizers) Angels Pray (music video), Messer announced on an interview a few days ago that new music is coming in June! See you on the next one.
To find out a little more about Mitch's taste in music, you might try checking out his YT channel, where he puts out songs and videos he has written/co-written. But he (and the channel) goes by the name Messer, so he is keeping it very separate from his PTX work.
Watch Anchor it's amazing. If you watch 12 Days Of Christmas.(I never liked that song @ Christmas) but when PTX does it, it is awesome. Anyway you can get an rough idea their preferences in music. From pop, classic, hip-hop, to a variety. It is interesting to listen to. Thanks enjoyed the reaction. Take care.
When you look into Superfruit, many of their vids are vlogs, challenges, Q&As, comedy, and also music. If you want to know what you're getting before you watch it, ask for specific recommendations. Always watch to the end, because most have outtakes.
