I like to rock, and so did April Wine. A fantastic underrated Canadian rock band who should have become a household name but lost commercial appeal after their excellent The Nature of the Beast album. Thanks for the upload, and glad you enjoyed it.
Canadian here. Saw these guys at least 10 times including the last tour with before lead singer Myles Goodwyn “retired” and passed away a few months later. 75 years old he could still hit those hi notes and man could he play guitar
Great band,Great song and even greater album. Has follow this underrated band since 1972. They should have been MEGA big. Good react on this superb group guys😁👍🤘
Miles Goodwyn on Lead Vocals and Guitar, and the big man himself, Jerry Mercer on the drums holding his own against three lead guitars. You should check out Oowatanite for some crazy sounds.
Formed back in the supergroup days, 20 years of albums, 1 a year, still touring I believe! All April Wine sings are great!!! All great musicians, great singer very much varied songs, imagine being the drummer on this song, having to fill in all that guitar sound!😮Put that on continuous, put in the earbuds, and thoroughly trash out ur run or workouts! I'll play this song for younger guys , into rock and guitar, but typically don't know anything about the guitar gods, pre grunge days. And after this song, their faces look like they got struck by lightning! And then usually say something like," I don't even get or know nor understand what I just heard!!!"
Try "Tonight is a Wonderful Time To Fall In Love" April Wine. Miles Goodwyn ( spelt it wrong I'm sure) , the leader singer and writer just passed this weekend. Lots of April Wine on the radio right now. As a young girl this was my fave
The Drummer ended up being one of the best drummers of all time Jerry Mercer and he's still doing it well into his 80's. This was one of the very few bands that could do 3 leads
Should have been a huge band, up there with LED Zep, sabbath, Aerosmith, etc. Been around since 68. I think they still tour!😮 Hard to find this many guys in one band, with this amount of skill! Honestly, I think their name made them sound more pop. U have to call them an underrated rock band! Maybe the greatest underrated rock song of all time,...well two.... Frankenstein, look up the live studio or stage version, then look up Green Grass and High Tides Forever! The best long form free style rock song ever made, and that includes over Free Bird!!
