They had to write a song to fill out the second album. This was the song. It became their best known song. The first song I ever learned how to play on guitar, bass and drums. 🎼🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎸🥁

I think I was 7 when the album Paranoid came out but my brother was 17 he purchased this album Paranoid from Black Sabbath on 8 track tape. So here we are now 57 this is the only album I have on two formats CD and Vinyl, This is one if the albums in my youth that made what I love and the kind of music I cherish in my life

This song was my introduction to Black Sabbath a few years ago. Still my second favorite Black Sabbath song, just behind 'War Pig'.

actually it's about what's real and what's not because of smoking pot. It was written by Geezer, the bassist as a 3 minute fill in to complete the album war Pigs, It was changed to Paranoid because they thought the original title was not right for the times. Geezer wrote it in about 20 minutes and Tony Iommi came up with the riff and Ozzy was actually reading the words off a piece of paper while recording it.

The line between blues and metal is easy to find. It was the day Sabbath and Ozzy parted ways. Every Ozzy Sabbath song has a distinctive jazz or blues element. Every Dio Sabbath song sounds like metal. Good metal, but just the same.

Black Sabbath didn’t have a blues phase. Their songs varied wildly throughout their history. If you listen to any of their albums you will find some hard metal, some blues and even some R&B influences. The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith did this also and is one of the reasons they are loved over the generations. They have something for everyone. Try Ozzy’s “See You On the Other Side “ it will blow your mind.
