Dirty Loops was formed in 2008, and the the three of them were longtime friends already by then, and posted their first video back in 2010, so they have quite a bit for you to check out, should you wish to. And everything is of this stellar quality, so no matter what you pick, you most likely won't be disappointed. All three of them studied music as their main subject already in high school and also went to music college in Stockholm. Jonah played classical piano until his last year of high school, when he switched to jazz, and (iirc) then studied music production with jazz piano as his side subject in college. Henrik and Aron studied jazz (and of course some other genres as well, but jazz quite often is the foundation in a lot of non-classical music educations in Sweden) in both high school and college. They are managed by Quincy Jones these days, but they produce everything themselves, together with Simon Petrén. They've said in interviews that they don't send Quincy Jones anything, not even demos, until they're all done, video and all. As some other people have already suggested, you should check out more of their stuff. My personal favourite is Work Shit Out, but you can't go wrong no matter what you pick really. They did a whole album (Turbo) with Cory Wong during the pandemic, and everything was done remotely, with Dirty Loops in Stockholm, Sweden, and Cory and the horns in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Even the videos (there are four from this album; Follow the Light, Thriller, Turbo, and Ring of Saturn) were all filmed in separate locations. Aron (the drummer of Dirty Loops) then edted the films to make it look like they're in the same room. He does basically all the video editing for Dirty Loops, and also did so for this collaboration.
I say it all the time. The way Henrik plays, he could glide across genres with ease. I’m not a musician so I don’t speak on technicalities in music, but I know what I like to hear. And I like very much anything Henrik does.
Welcome to the Dirty Loops universe. You'll find that almost every video from this band is awesome. Cory Wong and the horns were only guest musicians in this setting. On the subject of Henrik can play anything: You're right about that. There's a video with fusion rock guys Jack & Owane (see the video for the song "U.T.F.F.") or another trio called "GEM" consisting of Animals as Leaders' drummer Matt Garstka and a jazz pianist named Eldar - all including Henrik. When you see this, you briefly think about selling your instruments. 😅 Thanks for your reaction.
Oh, yes. The GEM stuff is so brilliant! And so is U.T.F.F. 😍 You could argue that it's Dirty Loops who are the guests in this though, as the initiative for the collab came from Cory. 😁
All I can say is “You Have So Much To Learn”! Same grouping “Thriller”, DL only “Work Shit Out”, “Rock You”, “Bitten By The Kitten”, in other words Don’t Stop Here!
Two of the best bands around. Premier musicianship and great charts make for a great listening experience no matter who you are or what your “preferred” genre might be.
This was such a dynamite reaction. You two are so much fun and it was so cool that you got around to Dirty Loops. I would heartily recommend "Next to You" by Dirty Loops. A lot of people refer to this song as Dirty Loop's "Bohemian Rhapsody". And it totally lives up to that. It has everything and in particular Jonah the singer will truly blow your mind on this one. Please I guarantee both your minds will be blown with this song. FYI: When "Follow the Light" was recorded none of the guys in either band had met in person before. Everybody on stage left recorded in Minneapolis, U.S.A. while Loops on the right recorded in Stockholm Sweden. Kind of a mind blower.
@@TheWolfHunterZ Have to 100% agree on Next to You. Jonah's vocals on that track - jeez. But it's the whole package, gospel inspired with unbelievable vocal performances. Please do check it out.
The really crazy part is not only wasn't that recorded at the same time, it wasn't on the same continent. Dirty Loops were in Europe and Cory Wong and the band were in Minneapolis. In fact they hadn't even met when they did this - it was carefully constructed to look like they were in the same room. Now you need to dive further into the Dirty Loops rabbit hole, there's so much to check out, but "Work Shit Out" will really blow your minds. You'll also love "The Way She Walks" (audio only) and "Next to You". They also had a fun little side project called "Songs for Lovers" where it's just the two or three of them pretty much jamming.
Waaaay too many people and reactors have been sleeping on D Loops. Their tracks (no Corry W) World On Fire also has a killer bass solo and Work Shit Out has a 2+ min drum solo, FFS! Great react as always guys!
I love how so many of Jonah's vocal phrases end with a smile. My favourite song, and the perfect song, thanks for sharing your first time with us. Okay, that sounds a little weird, but we all know what I mean 😇
Dirty loops are like aliens, music out of this world, every single song from them is a whole experience, i suggest *work shit out* as the next song for react... you´ll be blown away
Love ya Wolf Hunterz. Top reaction channel by far! Keep doing what you do. Love ya guys! Thanks for making my life better! I swear 90% of the songs i listen to have a reaction by you guys! I'm not even exaggerating
Dirty Loops is well known for their jazz/funk/pop infusion music. They are managed by Quincy Jones, the same manager as Michael Jackson. Check out their Thriller cover with Cory Wong as well as their originals Rock You, Breakdown and Work Shit Out! You will enjoy every single song they have done!!!
What a banger of a reaction! Loved it when your collective jaws dropped every now and then :) Yes, these musicians are absolutely mindblowingly good, and that song, weird as it might sound that DLoops and Cory had never met at the point of writing, recording and filming this, it still is such a funky, fun and convincing track 🔥 You also might/definitely will enjoy Thriller from the same collaboration. They made a whole album together, and four of the songs have videos with them. Thriller, besides Follow The Light, Turbo and Ring of Saturn, is one of those four. All the tracks are KILLIN it it, but Thriller is a complete one-off, I think. And yeah, Henrik’s a beast on bass and indeed can switch between any genre. True, I think, of all of the three Dirty Loopsers ;) Loved your reaction and commentary and can’t wait for more Dirty Loops on your channel 🙏
Your faces lighting up was so beautiful to see! You guys digging the funk, the horns, the bass, amazing syncopations, 👏 👌 Chef's Kiss Dirty Loops are mind blowing, but I oftentimes can't handle the amount of stuff going on in their songs. It's overwhelming.
Look the Songs of dirty Loops: "Work shit Out", "breakdown" and the live Performance that Show you this are great musicians and they can do this what they Show in this Video. Groovy regards Kay
Nice to see and heard when people will first time finds DL 😅 Take a look to past to hear where they are coming from. ”Hit me” from ”Loopified” shows what just these three guys were able to do even 8 years ago ❤
Absolutely do some of their solo stuff! The early covers are amazing to see where they started ("Baby"), end of their recent stuff "Next to You" is a wild ride. As a more deep cut that I personally love, check out "It Hurts" from Loopified! Might not get you a lot of views, but whether on or off camera, definitely listen to it!
Hery guys, love your channel. If you liked this song and the horn section, you MUST check out the instrumental "Turbo". I swear you'll be blown away. I'm serious, you'll love it and so will everyone else. THEN, if you want to see what kind of talent each of them possess, my God, Work it out is as good as it gets.
Brilliant reaction! It brought such a smile on my face, and I wanted to be there in the background somewhere, dancing away with you guys. ;-P Dirty Loops is a swedish "secret" thats not so secret anymore; as people below have mentioned, they have studied music on a very high level and worked a lot as session musicians in all kinds of stuff, but have been best friends since school and wanted to create something together. I saw them live in my hometown of Umeå and they are at least as mind blowing in real life. Check out any song by them and you will not be dissapointed. My favourite is very hard to choose, but Work Shit Out is in another dimension. Its just not as "poppy" as their other stuff, but its a complete beast of a musical creation.. Rock You and Next to you are awesome... From their album Loopified I adore "Hit Me" and "The Way she Walks"...but no matter where you go in their catalogue you are definetly in for a treat and a mind bending experience. I am just shocked they are not world famous, well payed, super stars yet. But perhaps now... ;-P
Very cool reaction! You can check any Dirty Loop song, you won't be desappointed, with or without Cory. And you MUST check Cory Wong's other band VULFPECK for loads and loads of pure funky bassy fun!
It's a pity that a band like this is not recognized by many more people. So much concentrated quality, so that later a few Reggaeton or industrial music projects drag the entire market and attention. Music cries in a corner as I write this, as you read to me. Greetings beautiful people
Great reaction!! The smiles on your faces throughout the song pretty much tell the story. It's an astonishingly good tune that stands up to repeated listens. The musicianship and production are truly next level, as is the composition itself. I strongly recommend you check out "Next to You," along with the rest of the songs on "Phoenix" (Dirty Loops' most recent album). You'll be blown away!
You just can't go wrong with dirty loops. Want to hear them jazz out more and the drummer kill it, try Work Shit Out. I'm not going to any link to request, read your fucking comments.
