The Isle of Man TT is run in a time-trial format on public roads closed to the public by an Act of Tynwald. The event consists of one week of practice sessions followed by one week of racing. It has been a tradition, perhaps started by racing competitors in the early 1920s, for spectators to tour the Snaefell Mountain Course on motorcycles during the Isle of Man TT on Mad Sunday, an informal and unofficial sanctioned event held on the Sunday between Practice Week and Race Week

No one died the first many years of this race. The first motorcycles in the Isle of Man had so little power, the bikes had pedals, to climb the hills.

A good video to watch is the Peter Hickman Chin Cam Onboard, it will give you an idea of what it is like for the rider going at upto 200mph.

146 racers have died at the Isle of Mann TT. If spectators are included the total is 270. In 1970 alone, 6 people died.

Avarage speed 135mph, top speed over 200mph. I've been riding bikes for over 45 years, but you wont find me doing this shit. These guys are just built different.

Only one ever had the average speed over 135 mph. Most drivers don't even surpass the 130 mark. Some are even below 120.

My neighbour used to race at the TT in the 1970s he rode a manx Norton wich was a very noisy bike we could hear him coming of the motorway about two miles away before he got home, he also was a sidecar passenger for his friend, too mad for me,

Just a pity this is NOT the Isle of Man, isn't it??? Granted, some of it is, but it looks like the Northwest 200, especially the wet roads - - - - Isle of Man is never raced on anything but dry roads, why you ask, well the lap is just over 37 miles long, wet weather tyres would be destroyed on dry parts of the lap, and dry tyres have no grip on wet roads..... oh and they race for up to 6 laps (226 miles), enough people die when racing as it is without the risk of having the wrong tyres in the mix
