I too am addicted to Pisces reaction videos. Just seen one young black guy named Twan i think, who couldn't handle it and shut it down half way through.
The lady’s name is Tatiana and Jinjer is a Ukrainian band. Yes, that sound does come from that mouth lol. She has a lovely singing voice (which you were getting into) but is also able to throw out that scream as well. It’s not my sort of thing but I can appreciate the vocal skill needed to do this. I wasn’t sure you’d get through it, well done 😀
zenleto she has incredible vocal skills I agree, however her growling comes from her diaphragm. If she did that with her vocal chords she would not be able to sing after a few songs
Great suggestion, another would be captain clock live, that's intense, but a really really great is going back to their original stuff, scissors is probably her best
Everybody reacts like this. 😂 It is possible, it is all her, she is amazing. Nice reaction video 👍 Watch Jinjer - Bad Water It is all clean vocals. You should like all of that one.
Hey there Dan, great reaction! What she does is called guttural vocal (also growl or scream) and it's mainly produced using diaphragm and false vocal cords. It's the sound you make when clearing your throat. And yes, she has a powerful voice - you have to be a great singer first to master harsh vocals, and do them healthily ^^
@@mrRath42 I doubt that, did she state that? I might be mistaken, but I don't think you can do "low fry". Sam Carter from Architects is one great fry screamer, and that's very different to whatever Tatiana is doing.
not only is it possible but with the proper training you could do it too. What I like about Tatiana working within metal is that while she is an extremely accomplished vocalist she's not just another bland cookie cutter voice. as soon as you hear her you know it's her, and actually her gutteral vocals are the least interesting part of her range in my opinion, not that they aren't great and all but she does so much else, she spans so many different genres with her voice and I really think that, once they've gotten past the initial "wtf" moment, that's what people gravitate towards with her.
And her charisma and stage presence and how all her movements and expressions show she is totally into what she is singing is a rare ability. In this video especially several people seeing her for the first time often don't really notice much else including the virtuosity of all 3 bandmates.
This is a vocal technique widely used in metal, called fry screaming (although it sounds like false chord screaming) look them up and yes it is 100% real :)
Haha! That reaction was entertaining. Jinjer can be pretty shocking but they are also incredibly talented. Even when they are blowing your mind it's hard to look away. If you're daring to try another song from them I'd suggest "I Speak Astronomy" - either the official music video which is beautiful or the Summer Breeze Live version because they are amazing live. That song has some gorgeous vocals especially the high part at end.
2:34 jeez i only hear this on men vocalists. First time to hear this (dunno what this is called) from a woman 😱. This is vocal sorcery😂. Sorcery man hahaha. Damn she's awesome.
Welcome to the metal universe! Here you'll find great musicians, powerful instrumentals and probably some of the best singers to ever live. And YESSS, also women who can do growls and screams properly (that's how that singing style is called, it's also referred to as "guttural"). Both men and women can learn it and you need a lot of technique actually. Check out their live stuff or some similar bands like: Arch Enemy: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mjF1rmSV1dM.html 🎥 ARCH ENEMY - The Eagle Flies Alone (OFFICIAL ... - RU-vid Rage of light: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k6xBhv21kEE.html 🎥 RAGE OF LIGHT - Mechanicals (OFFICIAL VIDEO) - RU-vid m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B7uLt2wIDwY.html 🎥 Eths - Adonaï (version française) - RU-vid Burning witches (all- female banm.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1OCmwMFKDlE.html 🎥 BURNING WITCHES - 'Hexenhammer' (OFFICIAL VIDEO ... d):
Dan, great video and Priceless Reaction! I give you five reasons that this was one of the most authentic "first time" reactions I've seen to this video. 1- The WTF face @ 2:35, 2- Right hand shaking from shock @ 2:44, 3- Goose bumps on display @ 3:30, Chilled to the core @ 6:15 and 5- The "Holy Shit" this girl can belt too? expression @ 8:22! Now let me introduce you to two Blues videos that will blow your mind for two completely different and good reasons! Please consider doing a reaction video for each! The first is an acoustic blues song, featuring "ONLY" Joe Bonamassa, a blues guitar legend and the beautiful and brilliant Tina Guo who slays it with her Cello!!! 1~ (Joe Bonamassa & Tina Guo - "Woke Up Dreaming" - Live From Carnegie Hall: An Acoustic Evening). The second features Beth Hart, the best and most expressive female singer of today! Her voice will reach in and embrace your soul! 2 ~ (Beth & Joe - I'd Rather Go Blind - Live in Amsterdam) You'll be glad you did! I'm eager to see how you response and to hear your thoughts! Keep doing what you're doing!
Your reaction is typical of about 95% or more who either hear it for the first time by reacting to it or by just seeing it and listening. I had to watch closely at everything to make sure there wasn't a box or switch she pushed to create that sound. I've never been a fan of rock that incorporated the growling vocal technique. As any music I respected the Artist and the fans that did enjoy this type. But it seems after watching this video for the 100th time, listening to reactions to it, I'm able to listen to it. You'll find their are a lot of people that follow this song around and watch the reactions from people and some are pretty hilarious. Who would've thought that this little woman would be able to have such a deep growl come from her.
Tatiana Shmayluk is tied with Devin Townsend as the best metal vocalist. If you're not familiar with Devin Townsend, please react to Devin Townsend performing "Kingdom live on EMGtv" you will not be disappointed!
@@Sumoniggro if you like a grating tone, I would agree with you, but since I like a smooth tone that can easily switch between harsh and clean vocals, I think I will stand behind my choice. BTW, don't ever diss Tatiana or Devin like that! Lol, I'm kidding. King Diamond is certainly up near the top, and he's in good company... Mike Patton, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Floor Jenson, and many more. I just prefer Devy and Tat because their the best. 🤘
Oh yes. It's real. I love lots of music and she is one of my favourite Metal singers. I find the transition very beautiful. It's like mixing happiness with anger.
As far as I'm concerned, the greatness of this song comes from the impeccable synthesis of the masterful performance of each instrument, (drums!!!), the melody and, of course, the singular vocals of Tatiana. The part usually overlooked in reactions is the lyrics. This song delivers a story, a MESSAGE and the scream puts just the right accents. By evoking empathy and understanding it does more good for women than all feminists of the world.
Lol, I laughed the whole video.. you need to do more Jinjer! You will have a following that you'd never expect! Jinjer has a huge following that scours the internet for reaction videos daily! Btw.... yes 100% her! Sept 27.... I'll be seeing her live ..... cant wait!
Tati tripped your " Fight or Flight " response with those goosebumps. lol. Love your reation. She does the growl by forcing air over her false vocal chords. A lot of practice and not easy to do.
Ha ha, nice one Dan! I've really been waiting for you to do this one. By the way, I'm one of your countless Dimash subs who actually stayed for other content. I'd love to see some more rock/metal/heavy stuff in the future if you're willing to do so. There is a lot to explore! If I may suggest one song, it would be "Unleash the Archers - Awakening" (Full Band Playthrough)
Someone said one voice is before marriage, the other is after. Actually the sign of Pisces has a pair of fish that are opposites, like the yin and yang symbols. In the song, she has been abused in past relationships, and is apprehensive about new ones, but knows at the same time that she has to risk another, or she can never get what she really wants. Now, imagine if half way through a song, Dimash started singing that way.
It's real and 100% Tatiana. It is a fry scream technique; It requires breath control, diaphragm control and screaming on exhales. Not to mention keeping vocal cords closed as much as possible. Tatiana's taught herself English, as well as took the time to perfect this technique over years. She also makes jewelry, nearly all the bands art and tattoo designs and tailors her own outfits.
Guttural singing to me is beautiful. Tatiana does it quite well. But personally I prefer Angela Gossow, from Arch Enemy (check out 'Bloodstained Cross'). Alyssa White-Gluz, and Vicky Psarakis, are also quite proficient in this genre.
Jinjer are from eastern Ukraine. Tatiana is quite a special girl, yes? Her singing styles are effortless- she’s not pushing or leaning in to it, just doing it! For a live offering, watch Words of Wisdom (live). That one will blow your mind out the back of your skull.💪🏻🤘🏻
You need to react to dreadful moments or cloud factory, who's gonna be the one, or captain clock. They're all great songs that shows her vocal ability with great lyrics too and instruments
It's called growling, pretty common in most metal bands. You should listen to the Russian Folk-Metal band Arkona. The lead singers name is Masha "Scream" for a good reason...
A death growl (or simply a growl) is a vocal style (an extended vocal technique) usually employed by death metal singers but also used in other heavy metal styles, such as metalcore.
Yeah, as the dude below me said, you seriously need to do Jinjer - Who's Gonna Be the One (live) next. Followed by Jinjer - Teacher, Teacher (official video). Want likes, views and subs? Jinjer's the way to go. And that is 100% HER voice. She's talented. You have to be a metal fan to fully appreciate the growls.
Nice reaction! 😅 you should react to Arch Enemy if you wants more powerful female growling 👌 they are an Melodic Death metal band from Sweden and one of the pioneers of female growling 🙂 Nemesis, Bloodstained Cross and The Eagle Flies Alone are some good songs with them.
A good female fronted metal band and song, without agressive growls, is "Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (live in Wacken 2013)." You'll love it, bro'. It's beautiful.
Only the most obvious next choice after this :) Getingt shocked/amazed by the talents of Tatiana, and now prepare the same, in a different way for another amazing woman with talents!
They did have two screams overlayed with each other for some parts of the song - but it's pretty real. I believe she's using false chord technique for most of the song - with some amount of vocal fry as well. She's just a master of the craft - it takes a while to get used to singing like this (and don't continue if you have any kind of pain ). It just sounds odd because there are just so few female screamers compared to male screamers (and she does have quite low overtones for a female screamer). But I mean - her normal female voice signature is pretty low as can be heard from the first verse so it's not that weird.
"normal" - if I were you I would not be so straight about it. She is really talented and free to choose the way of singing her songs and it's normal ;)
Aloha Dan! Great reaction! Check out this band. I think you'll like their backstory. They personify keeping the faith and following their dreams no matter what. Don't be distracted at the beginning. These guys shred. They are Ningen Isu from Japan. The song is Heartless Scat (scat in this instance is the Jazz vocal style that Al Jarreau and Bobby McFarrin use). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CbI79e5iZKs.html
it´s a technique know as Guttural, it's used in metal songs to bring your inner demons :P, it's made by adding vibrations to your Glottis, well done it shouldn't hurt, she actually is very good and have a great diction wich mean she trained her voice a lot.
It's pretty much finding the resonance/flapping of you false chords. The folds right above your actual vocal chords and it's hard to figure out how to do it, but it's pretty effortless since most of the pitch comes more from your mouthshape. If you could hear an undertone it would have been a fry scream, which is not the case here she was using mostly false chord.
I'm just a drummer, but I think as the screaming technique has got a lot to do with correct breathing etc. usually singers who can scream good as also pretty okay clean singers ^^
Nothing to be scared of, most mortals can sense her demon at about a hundred meters or so. If you ever feel a sudden freezing chill up your spine start running and you should be fine.
This was just uploaded to youtube a 30 min. live set including pisces, that should give a better picture of Tati's vocal abillities: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4HW-ACeiUMI.html
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nfZxu1aQzp8.html This is a male cover of the song "Ghost Love Score" (originally by Nightwish) that others were mentioning. This guy sings it in the original key. You should react to it, because it's fucking amazing lol. Edit: Yes, that's her real voice in the video you are hearing. Brilliant use of distortion.
This my friend is what you might call.... sugar coated death metal. If you're not accustom to death metal - this here is a song with a sweet coating. The sugar helps the medicine go down, welcome to death metal. A lot of rock music, most hard rock and almost all metal and particularly death metal or black metal: is *therapy* in the form of exorcising one's own demons. *I don't expect anyone but metal heads to understand that a head of time,* so if you're unaccustomed to this genre: with anything you hear from it - keep that foundational principle in mind and suddenly it all makes a hell of a lot more sense. Metal and even more so death metal/black metal like this is a *therapeutic release* of pent up emotions and dark or twisted thoughts - everything that if left to sit inside yourself is poisonous to you. It's a way of getting all that toxin out of your system so that it doesn't eat away at your soul. So if metal seems very dark and cold and dangerous or scary: you now know why that is. It's a genre of music specifically designed to release your demons and gain relief from your grief and your grievances and all of the dark emotions that everyone accumulates in life. It's a way of examining what hurts inside, taking it out with one hand, flipping it off with the other and feeling better as a result. That's what the darker sides of rock really are. Rock, hard rock, metal, death metal, black metal: the further along that scale - the harder and heavier it is and the more you'll find that people listen to it in order to cope with their lives. Again, this *isn't something I expect anyone but other metal heads to know and understand,* that's why I took the time to lay it out for you so you could fully realize what it was you were hearing and seeing. Often times metal music has satanic themes - but it's almost always just that: a theme. Metal is much more about the casting out of demons - than it ever has been about summoning them. There's even death metal and black metal *Christian bands* out there which sound like this - but preach the gospel and praise Jesus in their lyrics. It sounds like a primal or even demonic scream of anguish and rage: because that's what it is. It's a form of music which functions as a pure and uninhibited expulsion of negativity and pain - to express it and thereby control it: rather than allowing it to control you. It's not for everyone and I won't try to convince you into liking something which you don't, everyone's free to like what they like and have their own taste: I didn't just didn't want you to have the wrong impression of what it actually was.
Aha im not into this kind of what ever it was but i do accept this one just because she can do it "duo" seem like seeing angel n evil side on gud way . Gud to see ur reaction haaha we just human beeing move on .
