So Street Fighter & Persona got their whole inspirations from Jojo. They both took the style & personality from it, Streetfighter took a similar artstyle & even some of the locations & at one point a whole character model from a Jojo fighting game, & Persona took the concept of Stands & reworked them into, well, Personas: a manifestation of a person’s heart/skills. Heck, Dee Jay from Streetfighter straight up took an iconic fighting move & line from Jojo that we call a “stand rush” where the characters release a flurry of punches & yell a line like “Ora Ora Ora Ora Ora!”, “Miss Muda Muda!”, “Ari Ari Ari Ariii!”, etc. Jojo first came out in 1987, but never got a proper anime adaptation of the parts until 2012. Also, you did miss an opening, but that’s because compilations on RU-vid are so unorganized, so I don’t blame you. Some people say 1-13, some say 1-12, some 1-9.99, but really, there are 11.5 openings. It’s weird…

The trend of the openings changing in the final few episodes to have the villain interrupt it with their OP BS powers is one of the greatest anime opening ideas ever conceived.

The nickname Jojo also comes from then having Jo at the start of their first and last names, anytime it is changed it's cuz in Kanji it could be a Jo also

What an incredible anime and manga. I would absolutely recommend watching it! If you do, make sure to watch the openings every time. You'll get a few surprises from them that you didn't get in this video (because of spoilers). Edit to clarify some stuff that may have been confusing for you while watching (without spoiling). Each "part" is a story following a different member on the same family, each of which just happen to have the same nickname of JoJo. Jojos from past parts can show up in future ones as cameos or part of the main group for that part. So the guys you saw fighting in part 1 aren't necessarily the same as the ones from part 3 (third intro).

So basically, without spoilers. Every "part" of JoJo has a different main character, who are all related. And most of their nicknames are Jojo. And their "doubles" are a kind of ghost like thing called "Stands" that some people can summon for fighting or other tasks

You wouldn't believe how many people simply do not catch on and end up skipping the variant openings. To answer your questions, each part of Jojo focuses on a different Jojo. The series spans around 130 years or so, focusing on 6 different Jojo's. Season 1 is in the 1880s, 2 in 1938, 3 in 1989, 4 in 1999, 5 in 2001, and 6 in 2011. They took shorter gaps of time between later seasons because of a branching family line. The focus is the lineage of the Joestar family, who have that star shaped birthmark you noticed. The series starts out as Dracula the anime, and only gets weirder with every season. I highly recommend watching this for the memes alone, but the stories are wild.

JoJo actually was an inspiration to Street Fighter 2. JoJo is very old, it started on January 1, 1987, written by Hirohiko Araki, and you can actually notice a lot of homage paid to it in other Anime, Manga and even some Western media. Currently, JoJo has 8 Parts, with 6 of them so far getting an Anime. And in February, Part 9 is starting serialisation. Basically, it follows the Joestar family throughout generations, which is why there are often time jumps and each part has a new main JoJo (the first JoJo is Jonathan Joestar - JoJo etc.) and a set of characters, sometimes with some characters from the older parts making an appearance. JoJo is an amazing series and definitely must-watch/read. Just keep in mind that the "Bizarre" in the title is there for a reason! :D Part 1 is slow (in terms of building that sheer JoJo-ness it is known for, it is much more traditional), but it is very necessary, story-wise. It also was very innovative when it came out back in 1987 since it featured a non-Japanese setting and protagonist, which was something very unheard of in the Manga circles back then. Araki was not yet very confident here as he uses a lot of stuff from Fist of the North Star etc. which he is a massive fan of, but after that JOJO MADNESS TRULY STARTS and you can see how Araki starts finding himself and how his Art Style changes and evolves. Araki is truly huge fan of Western music, fashion, Art, entertainment, horror etc. and he constantly loves to reference them. He even travels to countries he sets a particular part in to get the feel of how they look, their culture etc. He loves to experiment with fashion and art, which is why Parts tend to change their art style and sometimes even colours change mid-scene to evoke a particular mood and emotion, even if the Manga is black and white, Araki actually loves colouring, but he mostly leaves it to his assistants for the colour version, which also exists. Araki's JoJo artwork was featured at the Louvre and he directly collaborated with Gucci. He takes a lot of inspiration from fashion magazines like Vogue and JoJo is full of extremely "flamboyant" and awesome fashion and poses that characters make. And he wants to show beauty not just of women as is usual, but primarily also of men. Which is why JoJo is sometimes jokingly called "gay", because it is mostly (there are quite some exceptions :D) just full of MANLY, INCREDIBLY BUFF, BEAUTIFUL and/or FLAMBOYANT GUYS, but to Araki it is not really about being or not being "gay", he just loves drawing beautiful men (but also women) and this gives JoJo incredible sense of style when paired with all the high experimental fashion, bright colours and all. Araki's art style and fashion sense is extremely unique to Manga and Anime. Nobody does the style of JoJo outside of homage and references, pretty much. I should also mention that Araki uses animals to make us hate the villain even more, he actually loves animals and for him it is the best way to show how evil the villain is. There is a lot of strong "Karmic" and other symbolism behind JoJo and characters generally reflect some kind of symbolic image in terms of their actions and personality etc. Araki rather than going for complex characters like Guts from Berserk, chooses to make characters that represent a particular symbolism and/or traits in the more traditional scheme, which works really well for what JoJo is supposed to be. By the way, I HIGHLY hope you get the fan subs if intend to watch it, because JoJo is FULL of all kinds of references to Art, Music etc., Araki LOVES sharing his music playlist with us by naming characters after famous musicians and bands, and unfortunately, in the official English subs and the dub they have to be censored due to copyright, so you get stuff like Killer Queen (Name of the Queen's song) to Deadly Queen (some are even worse, like Limp Bizkit to Flaccid Pancake...), which is quite...meh and misses the reference/Araki wanting to share some rad music with us and it is disrupting when you can hear the characters saying the proper name. Same goes for censorship of scenes with blood and gore. You will notice a black bar there, some are just ridiculous, like when a character smokes, it is censored like a black blob in the TV version. So get a Blu-Ray version.

JoJo is a very strange anime. One of my favorite things about it as of late is all of the references to western music. There are multiple characters named after Led Zeppelin, quite a few Beatles references, Rolling Stones references, and references to quite a few classic rock and 90's rap/hip-hop and pop musicians. I think JoJo was my first introduction to classic rock, with the first outro theme being a section of "Roundabout" by the progressive rock band "Yes." There's a character with an ability called "White Album", named after the Beatles' self-titled album with a blank white cover, and a sub-ability (I guess) called "Gently Weeps", named after track 7 of that album, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Other than my mom playing Beatles songs in the car, this was my first introduction to the Beatles. I'd suggest reacting to the endings as well, you might recognize some songs depending on your music taste.

this show is a masterpiece in terms of how the fight begins to how it takes a sudden turn that makes it so unique and badass and then u go "how did we go from this to this, like no one would expect that" plus the story writing is also amazing as hell. JoJo's bizarre adventure is truly a masterpiece and u have to react to it that's not a choice

Since you asked about how the writing is, its absolutely genius i can tell you that. I have seen hundreds of shows in my life, but JoJo really tops them all. The amount of detail, love and animation that went into this series is extremely astounding. Also i have never seen a show before that ran from 1987 til today and still remains to be interesting and makes people hyped. This show is a true gem and art in my opinion. There are also countless of hidden story eastereggs in the openings, if you really go looking for them.

Each part has a different JoJo, but often a previous JoJo will be in the part. So there are currently 8 JoJos, 9 with this year's upcoming part 9, and (not a spoiler) the 7, 8, 9th JoJos are basically a different universe to the others.

in my opinion one of the greatest strengths of this series is how there is no limits to what can happen. the author, hirihiko araki, is a truly inspired and creative man who does whatever he feels is best or something he'd truly inspired on. there is some absolutely wacky shit going on in this anime, but also some truly beautiful stuff. as an artist myself and someone who writes little stories, I can really tell this work has life behind it. a real and inspired thought process. araki has structured the series in a way that there is almost no limits,he can tell any kind of story he wants. when he feels like he's written himself into a hole and there's nothing else he can do after the 6th part, guess what he does? literally just creates an alternate universe and then writes one of the best parts of the entire series. he doesn't try to drag anything out into this extremely long complicated story, instead it's a string of multiple stories loosely tied together and it really keeps things fresh and exciting. i never finished naruto shippuden, but I easily binged this anime I'm sorry if I sound like I'm hyping up this anime too much, it just means a lot to me and I greatly enjoy it and think araki is truly a great artist that allows himself to write whatever he thinks is best, logic be damned

I'm not going into the specifics here but araki names people and stands (the thing you saw since the 3rd intro like the spirit things) after music, bands and singers but if you watch some versions depending on what site you use you may get localised names to avoid copyright issues. As a non spoiler a stand in part 7 (currently only Manga but it was announced that an anime comes for it from what I know) is called dirty deeds done dirt cheap or D4C in short. The localised name of this one is quiet funny its called filthy acts done at a reasonable price and that is just one example so if you watch the show in sub watch what the people are calling the person/stand instead of relying on the subtitles.

easiest way to explain it is that JoJo takes place over multiple generations. the titular "JoJo" is called that because their name contains 2 "jo"s making JoJo their nickname. almost every main character follows this trend

Watching people react to the OP’s is so fun for me that the algorithm brings me a new reaction recommendation when someone uploads one. Normally when they react to this video which is missing several versions, I get upset bc the missing versions are MASTERPIECES, BUT the fact that you picked up on SO much from the get-go (mostly noticing Koichi’s stand in the EDM version of Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town which flies over A LOT of people’s heads) showed that maybe you were better off not seeing the other missing versions and reacting to them when you get to them during your watch time. Also both versions of Heaven’s Falling Down are FIRE and I think you could watch and react to them without spoilers!

One of my favorite reaction videos to the JoJo openings!! I think it's because you strike the perfect balance - you pause enough times to give us your opinion, in a way that makes it really enjoyable to watch alongside you and hear your impressions, but at the same time you also aren't pausing every 1-2 seconds, which would've been too much. Plus, you don't come across as over-the-top or exaggerating your reactions, which I really appreciate! By the way, if you do end up watching the series at some point, I hope you enjoy it! Fair warning, it has a bit of a slow start in Part 1, but I promise it ramps up and becomes extremely good as everything progresses. I've never watched a more creative or insane show, and that's saying something!!

In the second opening, where you paused to talk about the gem, if you go look closely right before the drop with that brass section part, you will see von Stroheim saluting. I've never seen anyone reacting to these openings call that little detail out. Yes, it is an easter egg, and yes, it is shown explicitly in the anime.

Actually, this inspired Street Fighter. And if it weren't for part 3 and onwards' power system, we wouldn't have gotten Persona.

So to clear up some confusion, this show has 6 different protagonists. (The manga is still on going so you can count on at least 3 more somewhere down the line.) They all have Jo somewhere in there names and are part of the "Joestar" bloodline so they are all technically Jojo. That Star birthmark is a hereditary thing as well. The Jojo from the 2nd opening is the 1st's Grandson Jojo from Op 3 and 4 is 2nd's Grandson Jojo from Op 5, 6 and 7 is 2nd's Son... its complicated Jojo from Op 8 and 9... his relationship to the other Jojos is even more complicated And Jojo from Op 10 (and 11) is 3/4's daughter

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has 190 episodes in total, excluding the spinoff called Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, which has 4 episodes i think. you can watch that after you’ve seen Part 4. Yes, it’s segmented in Parts, which is different from Seasons. Season 1: Part 1 and Part 2, 26 Episodes Season 2: Part 3 Journey arc, and Part 3 Egypt arc. 24 episodes each for a total of 48. Season 3: Part 4, 39 Episodes Season 4: Part 5, 39 Episodes Season 5: Part 6, 38 Episodes

JJBA parts 3-5 have a gimmick where in the last few openings of each season, the villain uses their Stand power (Stando powah!!) to mess with the opening. They didn't do it for part 6, but someone made a really good fan-made version of "Heaven's Falling Down" with an interruption from the antagonist

Everytime they do a variation of an opening, they hint the power of that season's villain. Great days did a complete reverse because that season's villain had the power to reverse time, and much MUCH more.

sorry I'm commenting so much but chase (the one after crazy noisy bizarre town) is one of my favorites and it's so underrated. one the sing is an absolute banger, two the art direction and transitions are beautiful especially as you follow the flock of birds around the town (who are clearly startles and fly out of the town as if startled by something, as if this town was danger. conveniently they only fly away after the shot of someone clipping a set of nails, which will make no sense to you but people who have watched this show can really appreciate that). showing everyone living their normal, happy, mundane life. and showing the evil that seizes their quiet, happy lives. the song is mostly somber in the beginning as we look at the happiness and quiet life we know they are losing right now, but then shifts to a more upbeat and determined song as they promise to "chase you", to find the evil of this town and get rid of it. we are shown what is at stake, and then we are shown just how determined they are to protect their town and rid of it the evil that has been festering for 33 years. it just fits the point of the show it plays at so well. all of the openings, mostly the later ones, have so much symbolism and way of not spoiling it to those who don't know what's going on but rewarding those who have watched the show with so many little details. but chase is often seen as the weakest of the openings and I don't think it deserves that at all

Imo, JOJO'S got the Best & Most Creative Set of Openings back to back & I'll highly recommend checking it out! Alot of Games & Anime/Manga are heavily Inspired from this Franchise like Persona, Street Fighters, AJIN, Hunter x Hunter etc. cuz it's that good & You should definitely Checkout All the Endings for the series 🛐

The Jojo series follows the adventures of different descendents of a family , each one with they own Setting, story and characters. For Example, the Second Opening Jojo is the Grandson of the First Opening one. Each season takes place in a different year. Part 1 = 1880 Part 2 = 1942 i think Part 3 = 1988 Part 4 = 1999 Part 5 = 2001 Part 6 = 2011
