The music style is called Kundiman an old style music in the Philippines usually sing by men to court a girl on her own house' window while the guy with a guitar is outside in years early 1980s
This is one of my fave Pinoy MVs, particularly that twist in the end where it's revealed that the guy is a psychopath, went literally crazy in love, and kidnapped the girl. And he was just hallucinating all those happy times he spent with her... And in the end is a figurative indication that he's also a prisoner of his own feelings for the girl.
Jk is only 18 yrs old Dan, he wrote this song when he’s only 17, the video is only memories, the gf died and he’s imagining this as if shes still alive, it hits 50 m views last christmas day, now its over a hundred m views, tnx dan

Here in the Philippine, many people believe that every full moon, Some people are going obsessed by something they don't really know. That's why the title is Buwan.
Buwan translates to the moon or Luna (lunatic) which in our culture, we associate with insanity. The man lost the woman he loves and could not move on. Hence, he essentially lived in his mind where she still exists in his memories. In the end, her memories trapped him and kept him from moving on.
Loved it that you are one of the few who got the gist of the story at first view.. “Sa ilalim ng puting ilaw.. sa dilaw na buwan” “Under the white light.. (and) yellow moon” That’s when it happened... Great reaction Dan😊 PS ring light(?) 👍🏻
The video depicts the sorrow of being unable to be with someone you love or have lost. The protagonist drives through the streets, attempting to relive the past, wishing he had saved the girl. He creates a fantasy in his mind where he saved her and brings it to life in his room, which symbolizes his broken and dull life that comes alive only when he thinks of her. He becomes addicted to the thought, so he ties her to a chair in his room to keep her there forever. However, deep down he knows he's lost her, and he creates a world where she can exist only in his mind. But in the end, it's he who becomes trapped in his own creation.
yay! finally, you have a ring lightnow, Dan! good job! now it's gonna be convenient for you to film any time of the day. you won't have to catch the natural light anymore just so you can make a video. I'm happy for you!
The boy in the music video Juan Karlos (JK) one of The Voice Kids season 1 contestants. He is the original singer of "BUWAN" and i think he wrote that song too. And girl is Maureen a winner of Asia's next top model.. and they are couple in real life
The man in that video is actually the original singer and composer of that song BUWAN, and the Lady is his girlfriend in real life! Thank you for reacting this and I really enjoyed your reaction!
I think I've read somewhere and they had debunked this music video, but I can't remember the exact explaination. The word "Buwan" literally translates to "Moon", and the Moon is named after the ancient Roman Goddess "Luna", and the guy here is suffering from "lunacy" or "lunatic". It is not confirmed that the girl here is dead, or if she did actually existed, or is she only existent to the boy's mind. The song is how "she" looked beautiful under that dim moonlight. Hence why the girl here is wearing a white dress under a dark night, maybe signifying "she" is his "moon", a source of light while being trapped into his own feelings Great reaction by the way! I always loved seeing reactions when they got to the part with the girl being trapped in the room.
Hi dan I'm still waiting for your reaction to Gary V on wishbus the the song is "warrior is a child" I'll guarantee you that you will like it thankssss...❤️
for me its about over protective partner. 4:46 in this part the girl showed him what he did to her that lead her to death and the man gone crazy. sorry for my bad english
There are 2 possible and plausible meaning of the theory of the mv of Buwan. 1st commonly at 1st glance from the title Buwan or Moon or Luna which could mean lunacy or lunatic, from the scenes where the Girl is being tied and blind folded, which could mean he kidnapped the girl for being crazy in love with her. The 2nd one is that its lunacy from trauma, possible trauma from the death of his girlfriend, the scenes where he saves the girl from nearly being hit by the car, could mean his girlfriend died from that and he could not do anything about it. possible when he's dancing with no one in the near end proves his lunacy of something that happend to the girl, since if he did kidnapped her, did he kill her? the last scene where he is sitting on the chair and the girl goes to him, it could mean haunting of trauma causing his lunacy.
If you want to watch more amazing storyline that make your brain up's and down make your curiousity killing it. Then i suggest for you to react BTS story line WINGS... That was so mind blowing...i swear.. Thankyou!!!💜💜💜
Just wanna get involved lol.. But seriously Ive watched the story behind the scenes and the video actually is not as creepy..its a representation of how a guy loves a woman. He was imagining that the girl is putty in his hands, he could be as possesive and protective as he want, however women nowadays are their own self, independent, empowered and at some point can be the one dominant in a relationship. Thats what happened to the guy. The scene where the girl is chained was him wanting to restrain and control her but he was actually the one putty in her hands..
