Jun said the dark themes don't match his personality, but he wanted to push himself in order to learn how to express his art in a more expansive way. Jun is so playful, sweet and lovely as a person, then you watch him performing and his solos and it's like he gets possessed by this confident and sensual being. The way Carats were loosing their minds over his character in Exclusive Fairytale because it was so far-removed from his personality was so entertaining. If you see the behind the scenes of the drama he's the sweet and mischievous Junhui who has all the staff laughing and falling in love with him. His character was low-key the opposite of his personality because he's talkative and hyperactive with his members, so he said that when he was acting he was emulating Wonwoo and Woozi's personalities and how they are in certain situations since they're the most reserved and don't talk much.
From The8 I recommend "Hai Cheng", "Side by Side" and also "Falling Down". Falling Down is contemporary, The8 has a couple of contemporaries and they are really incredible. I highly recommend you since you saw Jun's MVs and if you see The8's MVs, I recommend "My I" is by Jun and The8 you will surely love it. MY I IS *AMAZING*.
Jun is one of the shyest members in Seventeen, and he's very very sweet. Imagine the collective scream among carats worldwide when Limbo dropped lol. And then Psycho too. Jun stans were all just bodies. The souls left 😂 For Exclusive Fairytale, Jun and the other 3 members from performance unit did a watch-through of the highlights of the series (a short video) and he was sooooo shy when they were teasing him lol. It was so cute 😂
Jun likes to express the different sides of his life in songs so he has a variety of music ❤ Even if his personality is so adorable and happy, he suffered a lot being in front of cameras from such a young age, so he wants to express himself now. Limbo is about him trying to make people fall in love with him but starting to love himself instead. Untill the point when he becames obsessed with his own (as we can see in the mv he is seducing himself). In Crow (one of his solo ballad songs and one of his faves / fans fave) he wants to express that for him love has no discrimination and how he was targeted as weird by society but wish to fight for love just like crows do (it has a deeper meaning bcs of the composers he worked with 🌈 too and we love that). And as he said Psycho has the same message as Crow but with a different view, since this is how he felt trapped and judged as 'weird' all his life. Way different genre but same meaning 😊. He also has another ballad called Silent Boarding Gate but it has his own storyline and is not as connected as the other songs of his projects. Also wanted to recommend Hai Cheng from Minghao, he acts a little in that MV and it's so warm ❤😢

I’m always super happy when people discover jun’s solos because they’re really hidden gems in my opinion. not sure if you knew, but jun is actually the main lyricist and composer for both limbo and psycho! also limbo has a both a Korean version and a Chinese version Many people were shocked when limbo came out because it was so different from jun’s usual cute and bright image, but if you make the effort to understand jun more deeply, you would realise that he’s actually a much more mature person than he appears to be on a superficial level. For some background, Jun debuted as a child actor at the age of two, and he was the main breadwinner of his family until his mother remarried his stepfather. He even received a prestigious acting award as a child. Jun has been in spotlight since he was two years old, and he’s mentioned before that he doesn’t like showing his weaknesses, which is why he often tries to show his happy side. As a child, Jun also learnt wushu, a form of martial arts, but he got spinal tuberculosis after he was injured during a competition and had to receive treatment, and this injury affects his hip movement til this day. The8 has SEVERAL solo videos, and they're all wonderful. Do a thorough search on RU-vid, as you might miss them since they all don't pop up automatically. He also starred in a Chinese TV musical series, "Dancing Millenium", based on the 8 immortals. You definitely don't want to miss that. i think hai cheng and falling down are the best of minghao's solos. Even if you prefer music like psycho, once you read the lyrics for hai cheng and falling down it will rlly touch you. thanks for ur reaction!

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. The song was not bad on 1st listen. Not sure about the song as a whole. Will relisten. Now it's ok. It's a grower. Good fits and choreo. Good vocals too. Love the female dance crew. The dance practice was good. I hope u watch it. The more i hear the song the more i am getting used to his rhythm. It's a vibe for sure. Loved the lasers in the choreo. So cool. I am pretty sure they choose the dance crew. Taemin of Shinee has always said that as a dancer there is no difference. Both can do it all. I know Hoshi is a big Shinee fan. But i am sure others have watched Taemin do his thing and all are smart guys. I think many share Taemin's views on dancers. Though i feel the female dance crew gave off more of a soft energy here and Jun to be did not blend as well as Taemin would. So it gave a different feeling to me.
