"Does the overlord character get any character development?" Well, depends on how you define "development". If a person loosing their humanity and becoming corrupted by the weight of their position "development"? Is a person indulging the ones he loves to the point of commiting evil acts becouse they want you to "development"? He does change, but not for the better. His servants believe him to be an evil allpowerful overlord, and he simply cant refuse them, so he becomes one, for their sake. Its honestly one of the most unique types of corruption in media. being corrupted by the image people you love have of you. I recommend watching.
That's probably the best way to describe it. He was left all alone with the 'children' of his lost friends, and he wants to take care of them and live up to their expectations of him. He tries to be fair, but a lot of evil is done, even if by negligence or incompetence, such as thinking a place of torture is just a sheep farm because of coy euphemism lol.
@@DLFamReactions A lot of the show is about the world reacting to appearence of entity as the Main Character. It's way more though provoking than it appears on surface level.
