The more PTV you do, the more you’ll realize Vic (the lead singer) doesn’t scream in majority of their songs. Bulletproof love is definitely one of their top songs. Check it out!
When I first heard them I was scared of them keeping the scream. I came across them from kellin and was pleasantly surprised when I listened to them more
the news in the background at the end of the music video is directly calling to that songs music video and yeah, was listening to the bands back then and still love 'em (yes im that emo punk girl, even 9 years later, hair over the eyes, band Tees, hair flip, you name it)
I think scream vocals are best used as one of many vocal techniques in a song. It's a really effective tool for conveying intense emotion, but most songs don't need to be screamed the whole way through.
Pierce the Veil and Sleeping With Sirens are great bands! I think you'll really like the majority of their songs. "Circles" by PTV is a great song with a fun video. In fact, most of their videos are really creative and a lot of fun to watch. "Bulls in the Bronx" is one of my favorites. Check them out!
being a huge pierce the veil fan " Stained glass and colorful tears ." or " A hundred sleepless nights " are my personal favorites from the collide with the sky album
PTV is such an amazing band. And even with screaming sometimes they make really cute songs, I'm sure you'll like it. My recommendation is Props and Mayhem
This kind of post hardcore is fantastic. If you like Kellin's vocals, I highly recommend Circa Survive, especially The Difference Between Medicine and Poison Is The Dose
Man, the first time I listened to King for a day I HATED it. It must've been around the time it came out, I would've been barely 15 and hadn't gone anywhere near any kind of metal in my life. Over the rest of my time in high school, after I started listening to more metal mid-2013, I likely listened to King for a day more times than any other song. My suddenly emo ass totally fell in love with it
if you're into more clean vocals definitely check out Sleeping with Sirens acoustic singles. James Dean and Audrey Hepburn is gorgeous and Stomach Tied in Knots is super catchy.
How can someone never heard king for a day? The song was huge even though someone not into it they should've been listening to it somewhere without noticing it
Man, that was a fun reaction! Anyone else thinks that Being as An Ocean would be an interesting band for Ellie to check out? Would be awesome to see her thoughts on songs like Glow, Dissolve or Black & Blue.
At the beginning I didn't like screaming at all in music, then I started listening to Bring Me The Horizon and Architects ahahah (also I Prevail made me like screaming, Eric Vanlerberghe is a great screamer, you should try Hurricane or Bow Down)
I was just about to fall asleep and I see this reaction. I can stay up 8 more minutes lol. I saw them perform this live and it was amazing! Hope your day is going good!
Definitely recommend checking out more Sleeping With Sirens. There's some really good songs that aren't as heavy on their previous album that you'd like (for example, Ghost, P.S. Missing You) as well as some heavier ones such as Break Me Down (or even the recently released single Bloody Knuckles).
PTV also has some songs acoustically played that you may enjoy more. Definitely recommend their newer stuff maybe the misadventures album. They also just dropped two new songs after a 6 year hiatus.
definitely if you wanna listen to more Pierce the Veil, check out "Bulls in the Bronx", "A Match Into Water", "Dive In", "Props & Mayhem", "One Hundred Sleepless Nights", "The Divine Zero", "Today I Saw the Whole World", "Gold Medal Ribbon" (my personal favourite PTV song), "Sambuka" and "Hold On Till May"
Fun fact, Vic Fuentes (the singer in the tank top) has been dating the red headed girl in this music video since this video came out. It is how they met and they are still together today
for an only pierce the veil review i would recommand the song "stay away from my friends" where you cann hear his different vocal techniques and his voice is really amazing. And for an only sleeping with sirens review i would recommande "if i'm james dean you're audrey hepburn" and then compare with his voice on "heroin". Kellin can make really strong vocals, screaming with the false cords, fry screaming, super high clean notes, and his techniques are absolutly fantastic.
Kellen's band, sleeping with sirens, recently put out the song "Bloody Knuckles" which is a very fun song imo. If you want to continue with Pierce the Veil i'd suggest "Hell Above".
man Vic is so pretty and cuTE- ANYWAYS- I absolutely LOVE this band! my all time favorite band and I liked your reaction! If you don't enjoy the screaming then I think you should stay away from their first album called "A Flair For The Dramatic" although it would be quite fun to see you react to "I'd Rather Die Than Be Famous" (my fav off of afftd) but its so nice to see that people are still appreciating these legends! also may I say, you're really pretty!! :3
I See Stars reactions would be sick. Or Hands Like Houses. Both bands don't scream much (I See Stars older stuff has some screaming) and have great vocalists.
you should 100% react to sleeping with sirens! kellin quinn (the one with the shorter black hair) is the lead singer, and both them and pierce have plenty of songs without screaming if that's not your cup of tea
If you want to check out a really dope rock band give The Strokes a shot if you haven’t heard of them before. I recommend Someday or Last Nite if you’re hearing them for the first time!
Maybe you will enjoy the "screaming" more when you do a reaction video and have the lyrics on the side. Love your reactions so far on the heavier bands :D
You’ll likely like Sleeping with Sirens( The vocalist Kellin Quinn is the feature in this song) but most of their songs are a lot tamer and they’re more “heavier” songs are very well balanced with the screaming and clean singing. Another great Pierce the Veil song is “Caraphernelia”
Going off of what you said about liking more melodic and sing-y choruses, I think you should check out Crown The Empire. Even my mom pointed out how much she enjoyed the chorus. 2 songs I’d suggest from them are “The Fallout” or “Johnny Ringo”. - As others have said, it would be appropriate to react to If You Can’t Hang by Sleeping With Sirens (the singer is in this song). Thx so much for being open to new music and still staying honest
4:23 I dunno what they did with the bass guitar here sounds like they detuned it I wanna say drop D tuning but it sounds even lower than that with some effects processing on it going on (looks like a 4 string bass in the video but he coulda been playing a 6 string in the studio) but its kinda genius because it matches the gutteral screaming parts in the other parts of the song and they let it ring out by itself. Works p well.
next, ALL OF THEIR SONGS lol. edit: Hold On Till May, Caraphernelia, Texas Is Forever, Today I Saw The Whole World, Gold Medal Ribbon, Current Convulsive, Yeah Boy and Doll Face, Southern Constellations + The Boy who Could Fly (they are split into 2 cus songs over 5mins ain't radio friendly or some other bs idr).
Amazing reaction I personally love you're reaction and I don't care if you don't like the song because you tried it and alot of people wouldn't try it I love that type of music but I been listening to it since I was 8 and now I'm 21
PTV ft Kellin Quinn this is one of my favourite songs of all time. You should check out more sleeping with Sirens they do a song with MGK called alone if you wanna check it out
