Comfortably numb is one of the best live performances from a band that were at their best when doing live shows. They always put on great light, laser and imagery shows. I went to see Floyd at earls court, London. It was the pulse tour concert and was blown away, even though I'd listen to Floyd since I was a child. @stevenewcomer8837
@stevenewcomer8837 Час назад
There are plenty that can do both. I love David’s guitar work, but if you think that he’s the best then you need to fish in a bigger pond. I don’t like “Best Whatever” lists. I prefer tiers. I have probably 25 or more guitarists in my top tier. I have a physical album collection of +|- 6,000 albums going back to around 1960. So I have listened to a lot of music and a lot of guitarists throughout the years.

Listening to Dark Side of the Moon, the album, is a journey. Don't listen to it in bits..... I tripped on it without the acid.... When it came out, I was in high school in a country town in Australia. Every Friday we gathered at someone's house and hung out listening to music. So, I heard Dark Side then but I think I was too young to "get it". I was more into Cat Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Joe Cocker and some Australian bands. Funnily enough, around the same time I got into Blues and a lot of black blues legends like Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters. Not totally unsophisticated tho, because Jethro Tull struck a massive chord with me when I heard Aqualung.

Hiya. A cousin of mine was a radio producer's secretary at the BBC when, in 1967, the Demo Discs arrived of a new group's first single, being "Arnold Layne" by The Pink Floyd. She brought one home for me in its original printed paper sleeve which declared "This Is It! ...The Next Projected Sound of '67". I had that vinyl for 40-odd years before circumstances forced me to sell it. As I hadn't played it that often, but mainly because of that original paper sleeve, I obtained just under £1,000 for it. Even so, I still regret selling it 😭. Stay safe. All the best to you.

I have seen Floyd three times by 1969. They were not this good back then but they were so much better than most bands. I wish I had seen this live but I had moved to Ireland by then and had other priorities. While the USA got the Grateful Dead, Britain got the Floyd. I like the Dead but Britain got the better deal. I recall hearing Arnold Lane, the first single by Pink Floyd and then their second single, See Emily Play. No one else was making music like that, not even other psychedelic bands. At their best, Floyd are the best live band ever and I have seen a lot of bands. I have been so lucky. Edit: I hope you guys will react to Ren soon. He is the most talented artist I have ever seen. Having stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks ago, you are without doubt the best 'reactors' I have seen. You have been given a few tough suggestions to react to and yet appear to give each one genuine thought and insight. The comedians are hilarious of course and as a Brit I take my hat off to you both for how you manage to interpret some of the dialects. Someone mentioned in the comments about Jess's wonderful, infectious laugh and they are so right. It's also great to see how beautifully you interact and dovetail with each other. You come across as a really lovely couple and I can imagine you would be great fun to share a drink with. As a veteran I can't help hoping you review some of the great videos out there regarding the US and UK military etc but completely understand that they may not fit with the generally happy, upbeat theme of your channel. No biggie either way, as I am still happy to cry laughing with you over people like Mickey Flannagan whilst I'm shaving in the morning with my ipad resting precariously on the windowsill. 😆

I was lucky enough to be at this concert and it was a full-body experience. It left me speechless.

Pink Floyd’s music has aged way better than most of the other bands that were around then. In 100 years, this music will still found fresh. This song was on The Wall, 1979, not Dark Side. I saw this live in 1994 and it was beyond words.

That was an excellent reaction. The album, "Wish You Were Here" is my personal favourite, and I think you may enjoy reacting to the first half, "Shine on you Crazy Diamond pts. 1-5". It's beautiful and haunting, and about an original member (Syd Barratt, the "crazy diamond") who very sadly got too messed up to continue with the band.

Back in 1980 when I was 16 years old, we saw this music as very soothing. Some of us did use light drugs, but that was not a requirement to enjoy Pink Floyd. You could get high just listening to them. I miss those days.

50 years ago Pink Floyd were already 200 years ahead of everybody! I bought my first Pink Floyd album in 1969 (Ummagumma) and saw them live in 1971 and 4 more times after that. For me This is the BEST band of all times. Now I'm 71 years old and still listen to them everyday. The best guitar solo of Gilmour is always the last one we listened. There are so many best solo of David!
