Carole King | Jazzman !!! Love Carol King. She was writing hits for others years before she started recording herself. I had a different high energy version I like that sent you. In 2015 she was honored at the Kennedy Center. She was surprised when Aretha Franklin showed up to do the song Carol wrote for her. Carol's excitement and reaction is priceless... Carole King is a great singer, songwriter & musician who started out in 1958. King's major success began in the 1960's when she & her first husband, Gerry Goffin, wrote more than two dozen chart hits for other artists. Her solo "Tapestry" record is one of the all time biggest selling albums. Lots of great songs such as "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", You've Got A Friend", "It's Too Late", "Where You Lead" etc.

Carole is one of the most prolific song writers in the music business. Lots of hits she has one of the hugest albums ever in Tapestry, just great.....oh and I had no idea the mail drama in Tezas was a thing... My brother lives in Txas as do most of his fam.soirh of Aistin...

Absolutely an extraordinary artist. What a body of work!! 'Tapestry' alone would be sufficient for many to coast on. Another unexpected song by she and Gerry Goffin is 'The Porpoise Song' by the Monkees; loved it since I saw it years after their movie 'Head'(co-written by Jack Nicholson!) came out, at the funky underground cinema we used to hang out at in high school years on weekends especially.

I heard this way back in the early 70's on my crystal AM radio. Probably 7 or 8. I swore the name of the song was "Jasmine" not "Jazzman". "Jazzman" made no sense to my little mind, but I knew Jasmine was a fragerance of some sort. Anyway, once the internet and online searching became a thing I unsuccessfully searched for this song, when searching for "Jasmine". I happened to see a Simpsons episode. I think it was the death of Bleeding Gums Murphy. Anyway, Lisa sang a part of this song, about him. Form there I was able to figure out the song she was singing. I had never heard of Carole King, but as I checked out her catalog I came to realize I *had heard* her.

Carole King was writing songs for others clear back in 1960 , I'm not sure that she has ever written a bad one . Her Tapestry album is a suggestion in itself . Where's Lulu ?
